After a near catastrophic error by Yours Truly when I cut ALL the plastic straps while the game was vertical (do not cut all the traps while the game is vertical!) but grabbed the head at the last second before it slammed backward earning me a post in the pinball horror thread, it’s set up and all is well! The game wouldn’t start at first, giving me a “coin door is open” prompt, but I found one of the wires pulled off the high voltage kill switch. So far, we really like this game. It’s a beautiful machine, first and foremost, and the playfield design is unique. This pin doesn’t feel like any other I’ve owned or played. No serious complaints at all. The generic gangster versus Godfather content feels about 50/50 to me, which isn’t bad. You get several GF vid clips in an average game (although they tend to be super short) and some GF audio. I love Michael Corleone’s clips. You can turn down the callout frequency, to the relief of many I expect. As noted, it’s very multiball heavy. You can start a mb with a single skill shot. But, you can also adjust the settings to make multiballs more difficult to get. They tend to overlap, with 2-3 going at once, but not in a good way like on BSD. It’s mostly chaos, at least it is for me this early, but I’ll turn them down. Still, this is a very impressive entry and should be fun to work toward the three or so wizard modes. My son is 4, and is already getting pretty good at it.
