Quoted from AtTheArcade:

- Is there any risk in scratched the blades when I raise and lower the playfield in the future?

Depends on how tight your PF is with the cab and it's different on every machine. Examine the black painted sides and see if you see any marks or scratches. Sometimes you'll have a single part (like a PF support post) that sticks out a bit and hits in one spot. You can loosen the part underneath the PF and try to tug it back a bit to avoid this.

Still it might be a nice idea to have some large poster board kept handy to slide in each side so when you lift you won't catch the edge of the decal when let it back down.

I've seen quite a few machines where the interior decals (hate the term "blade" for a sticker) have that semi-torn "lip" on the top edge where the PF caught it going down.

Quoted from cooked71:

I'll take your shooter lane wear and raise you 6 chips (of clearcoat)......

200 games in.

Damn that is bad... my condolences. For my TWD I took a page out of Ice's "lazy man's playbook" and put down a rectangle of clear cling vinyl. It gently sticks and is thick and later if you want to add a Cliffy or something you can just pop it out. It's the "temporary" protection that you'll probably never bother to replace

Quoted from kermit24:

Build date 6/27/16. The chip happened on day 3. Delivery July 6th.

Did you send the pic to every Stern email you could find?

You may or may not get the fix you want but you have to make the effort if you want *anything*. Posting here won't get a lot done.

Though it does nicely warn potential customers. So we all do appreciate the pic. Even a month afterwards.

Quoted from JimB:

I know just makes the most sense at this point and doubtful we will ever know the real reason.

Well use a flashlight and check the three edges you can easily see on your ST PF to see if it says "Churchill". Apparently the GB's have no company logo's stamped on the sides of their PF.
That would seem to indicate they no longer come from Churchill. And you would think any other subcontractor would have their name stamped on the edge as that has always been the case in the past.

We'll guess our way through this mystery!

Quoted from ctl723:

Fun fact- my GBLE playfield has the word "FAIR" written on the side of it. That's neat.

Let's hope that's not some informal grading system Stern has going on...

Quoted from Manimal:

As requested, here is mine. I have sent requests for the others. All of us are from the same date....maybe the upside down "A-1" designation you see on the edge tells the story...........And I realize there is a reflection on the Tobin insert, but it is NOT ghosting, it is a reflection from the flash. I didn't get a really good picture of it in what I took, but if anyone doesn't believe me, I will be happy to go back and try for a better pic. Stamped playfield date is July 7, however there is a written number that looks like it indicates July 5. Had it since Mid to late July, and play it at least 4 nights a week.

What did somebody claim they were ALL bad? Obviously that's not true... just an alarming amount of them

After all these pics of ghosting and chipping PF's it's nice to see pics of a "normal" one...
