I only read a few pages of this topic, so forgive me if I missed this discussion already...but given the unknowns in the next two books, do you think this machine might struggle to reach any "finale"? Don't get me wrong there is already a lot of source material to work with. I don't envy the task of the designers to try to condense it into a pinball machine. Right now there is so much going on that it's tough to know what's going to end up being the most important in the telling of the story.

I'm not thinking they are going to try to tell a linear story, but it would be nice for some type of progression. What do modes or rules would you like to see incorporated?

* "Ruling" all Seven Kingdoms by hitting completing shots

* Defending the Wall might be an interesting multiball

* Something with a dragon or perhaps three dragons in another multiball

Iron Throne seems like another major theme that I failed to include.

Quoted from PinBallMagician:

The finale should be to sit on the Throne by "conquering" each land and uniting the kingdom. The final fight would be against the Mother of Dragons and her "children".

It sure seems like the "final fight" would have to be a battle of Fire & Ice. At it's most simple that might be Dragon / White Walker.

I really think the future of LCD is going to be creating something of similar size to the original DMD. I really liked what I was seeing from TBL.

Everyone knows the first LED/LCD game from stern will be Trudeau's My Little Pony game.

My girls would love this. I just picked up a Solar Ride and it's my daughters' favorite game because the translight looks like their Barbie horse.

Other quotes...

"I will take what is mine with fire and blood."
"The night is dark and full of terrors."
"I am the sward in the darkness. I am the watcher on the wall."
"A coin is as dangerous as a sword in the wrong hands."
"A Lannister always pays his debt."
"The man who passes the sentence should swing the sword."
When you play the game of thrones, you win or you die. There is no middle ground.”
"Those are brave men knocking at our door. Let's go kill them!"
"A dragon is not a slave."
"The Lannisters send their regards."
"For the watch."

I also think the light show could also really help with the machine. RGB seems perfect. The red would be representing the "fire" side of Fire & Ice. Probably leading to a showdown with the Drogon. The blue would be representing the "ice". I would expect a "Winter is Coming" callout as shots are completed leading to a multiball battle with the White Walkers / Wights. Finally the green would then seem to be representing the Wildfire. Seems likely that it could be setup by hitting the targets then completing some timed shot represent the arrow setting things ablaze in a green fire.

Stern put up a video of the ball lock: https://www.facebook.com/sternpinball?fref=nf
Cooler than it looks, I thought it was just a ball stop.

Severed Head Multiball or better yet...*Season 1 Spoiler Alert*...Ned's Severed Head.

I agree with Ben, both are controlled by a single coil. Pretty good design that assures only a single ball is released at a time.

Edit: The sword is the physical ball lock. When the sword is down it stops the balls. When the sword and post are raised all balls roll forward until the first ball strikes the post. When the sword and post are lowered the first ball is released with the remaining balls again being held back by the sword. The ball will only be held by the post for the "beheading".
