Quoted from lpeters82:I only read a few pages of this topic, so forgive me if I missed this discussion already...but given the unknowns in the next two books, do you think this machine might struggle to reach any "finale"? Don't get me wrong there is already a lot of source material to work with. I don't envy the task of the designers to try to condense it into a pinball machine.
I would think this game will not follow the story line as much and be more about the general theme.
Quoted from Toasterdog:The back left corner on the pro is so damn empty.

Also, the backboard on the Pro looks empty. The Pro does not look much different from "The Pin" to me in materials.
Quoted from aingide:The random collage of 3D-rendered bricks/photographs of fire/thick-stroked cartoony inserts, etc seems like a first-pass blocking layout. It's at least 3-4 revisions behind where it should to be.
And there was some borrowing going on (left is GoT upper PF, right is MM slingshot).Screen_Shot_2015-09-08_at_12.39.55_PM.png
Holy crap. That would seem close enough to be infringement of IP rights.
Quoted from DefaultGen:Stern put up a video of the ball lock: https://www.facebook.com/sternpinball?fref=nf
Cooler than it looks, I thought it was just a ball stop.

Lopping off heads sword ball lock.
Quoted from KLR2014:besides the Throne its interesting that the background is changed from the white walker to the trone background. maybe more changed will be made.
That original White Walker backboard art was too barren. It is a shame they could not fit him in with a background that was a just a little more busy rather than nuking him. Hopefully the throne looks better in person. It looks out of place in the render.
Quoted from flashinstinct:JJP playfield link to high res shot. This thing is a work of beauty!

That is a beautiful populated playfield. I am very interested to see how it plays.
Quoted from beelzeboob:Don't know enough about them. And I wouldn't want a Ferrari or Lambo even if I had that kind of cash to burn. Acura NSX would be my car of choice. Sweet car, and pretty reliable. The Italians aren't really known for making great cars. Pizza, yes. Cars, no.
Italian cars can be great if you consider fancy the same thing as great. In reliability they are certainly not great.
Another thing I have noticed in my travels, the pizza in the USA is way better than in Italy.
Quoted from nate1981s:This should not bother me but it does how ignorant and non specific this statement is. The Pizza comment is incredible, just incredible. Maybe you should just stay at home with your old ford truck and delivery pizza then.
I have an Italian (Sicilian owners) restaurant 3 minutes from my home that makes the pizza better than anything I have had in Italy. The quality of the toppings can be much better in the US because we have much more to choose from in terms of vegetables and produce. The quantity of cheese and sauce are also huge factors. Just about every pizza place in Italy skimps on toppings. They make it more about the bread there which I find boring. There are several excellent places to get high quality pizza in the DC (where I live), NY and Chicago areas.
Quoted from Aurich:Dead on. I worry that as we move to LCD screens we're just going to get long video clips because they can, and not the short and punchy animations that a DMD shines with. No reason an LCD can't do the same thing and look even better, but when you have all these video clips lying around ...
Definitely a challenge for any movie-based game (and yes, that includes Alien before someone brings it up).
That pretty much sums up what Lawlor and Gomez figured out with Pinball 2000 and why Gomez was so annoyed by what JPop was doing with his Star Wars Ep. 1 Pinball 2000 (i.e. showing long videos and making the player wait).
