Well, it makes more sense to compare it to the same game instead of an older title. It is not just about the money spent on each model. More about how different the pro and le appear to be. Almost like they are two different titles all together. You can't say that about TWD pro and premium. Back then it was just more stuff on the table. Got pro/le has completely different shots. Not sure if it is bad or good but it feels like a new approach.

When they make a shitty game and they do they move on to the next game and forget about it.

Ruleset:

1) Cannot but notice the 2x Playfield - 3X... 4X up to 5X playfield inserts.
5x is a first (to my knowledge). This is going to influence game play a lot. Could be fun, hope this is not based on a single shot, like the Bell in ACDC.

2) Choose faction: as many houses as Doctors in Dr Who (7). Could be fun if each of one gives you a slight advantage for a game feature, as in Dr Who.

well, we are visual creatures, and we are looking at images here. obviously its appearance is going to make the deepest impression.

there isn't much complaining about the lack of an LCD because the rumor mill had done a solid job of squashing those hopes, and the toys and the layout are a little hard to judge until we play or at least see gameplay footage.

Art package is terrible. Can't believe they dropped the ball on this, with so much content to pull from. Sad

I know nothing about the show, but first impressions of that LE..I think It looks pretty incredible. Looks like a a lot of fun to shoot on. Can't please everyone.

Funny all the bashing that the pro is getting. I've never bought a NIB pro, but I can easily see how some people would actually <gasp>prefer the pro</gasp> over the other models. Some people (ahem) don't care too much for mini playfields for a variety of reasons, including having less flow etc. The pro will probably have better flow and play faster without the mini pf.

Yes, it will be a very different game than the Prem/LE. To me that's not necessarily a bad thing.

Epic fail of capturing the mood of the show, just plain bad art!!

So, I am liking the upper playfield.
2 Flippers and 5 tight shots, with a fast rebound back to the flippers!
The Dragon will do its job to interact and distract you.
I think it will be fast and furious up there, and the alternating rebounds from the shots will be a challenge!
(and as mentioned the 2x 3x multiplying)

So, I am less critical, but respect how others feel, as they know the GoT Product.

I'm thinking their must have been licensing constraints here, or Stern just wanted to market to a larger audience here, or was concerned with operators. The design elements on the PF art all seem purposely done to me, generic as possible. If a designer was given free-reign to make this PF, I can't image anyone wouldn't want to incorporate the darker elements of the show all over it. It seems silly not to, given the nature of the show. But it is a device meant to be displayed and operated in public, so no brothel sex scenes on an LCD in public. Maybe they can get away with it dots. Do some ASCII art. 8===D~~ ( * ) ( * )

I'm take a guess and say there will be zero profanity and or vulgarity on it, nor a way to turn it on/off in the audits.

i am disappointed in the art like most but what really is baffling is what is the mini playfield suppose to be? It is not any castle or area in the show/books... i mean shouldnt it be based on something? There is nothing on either version that is part of the show besides the throne on the prem/le

Actually most real companies allow this. Walmart, Best Buy, Target all leave it unless you post profanity. Even Game of Thrones' daddy HBO allows it there. It is a similar process to negative product reviews. The train of thought being that if you delete it, the customer will go somewhere else where they have no control (like pinside) and just be more vocal about their issues and rile up the masses and reinforce a negative image of them. These companies allow it and try to address it at an individual comment basis to show they care and to quiet the negativity as much as possible.

Dear lord the Pro decals and translite. Those shields on the backbox, what were they thinking? It all looks like a soft porn novel. The LE cab is majestic while the translite is WTF?

The Pro looks more fun to play, the king of flow - fan out deluxe, and it got a white walker in the playfield back panel.

The center crest background on the PF looks like it's some sort of chrome. They should release a video, I'm sure it will attract more buyers. But hey, there's probably not any code to run on it yet.

Yep. I was really hoping for something outrageous for The Wall. I was imagining everything from backbox coolness (ala banzai run) to at the very least a magnet lift, etc, etc.

Artwork is "meh", but then again, i thought the exact same thing about acdc. Looking at a static photo of that game does it zero justice.

Now i have seen closeups of the upperplayfield (new foto's page one), wow looks great.
But i still think te pro is to empty.

This is reminiscent of the ST reveal. that playfield art got blasted on initial release. the only difference is the ST reveal had a lot of people complaining about the layout and the sparseness of the overall design, calling it a SM rehash, or STTNG minus the cannons and toys.

The integration will be important if the sounds, lights and flow play well together this thing is a winner. I mean that upper pf is a hell of a lot better than a head in a barn...so let's cut SR some slack.

This is all a troll, no way this game would have artwork so blah....

Am I the only one who's amused by seeing characters all over the cabinets who are dead already in the show?

I'm reserving my judgement until I've played it, my opinions often do a 180 at that point but I still can't help being a bit disappointed in the art packages. One of the few I can honestly say I like the pro model's art better, and it's just characters photoshopped on a grey bg. The LE just doesn't seem to capture "game of thrones" for me. I'm hoping i'll be impressed with the real thing - cg renders never really capture how things truly look.

Ok, artwork aside (it is pretty awful) I actually think the Pro looks like it would be more fun to play. The main reason being that the right ramp always goes into the upper playfield (ala WWE) unless I am mistaken. That could get kind of old and kind of kills the flow. Nobody knows until we play it of course. The pro looks like it will have fantastic flow. The drop target in front of the ramp doesn't help flow on the LE either.

That and the upper playfield is HUGE!

Literally the entire point of GoT is that it's NOT a standard sword and sorcery, dragons and castle show. And yet that's exactly what Stern is giving us.

I was hoping for the same thing; but The Hound?? of all the characters to narrate the gameplay. Give me Tyrion Lannister at least.

The game would look much better with a 3D plastic/molded castle panel/facade, instead of flat plastic with a brick decal.

Really Surprised to not see HBO all over it like AMC on TWD. Maybe HBO saw the artwork and said never mind, leave us out of this ugly mess.

The more I see the art the more terrible it looks, seriously disappointing. But I think ACDC's art is awful too, and I own the game, it plays great, and is a Pinside favorite.

Steve Ritchie and Dwight Sullivan have done it before. Not going to write the actual game off, it could be awesome.

But the presentation just looks like amateur hour. There's no getting around that. And a lot of it isn't something you can pin on the license. It was phoned in, that's all there is to it. This isn't what I was expecting after 2 years of development. It looks like they rushed out the art last week.

Still, looking forward to the first videos and some hands on time at Expo.

I could have lived without an LCD and even with the photoshop art (lets be realistic, we were all kind of half expecting that anyway, right?) but as many have stated, they just didn't get the feel of the show at all. Not nearly dark or refined enough...

I'm still somewhat hopeful and would love to see some gameplay vids and house-specific art, but most likely I'll be going ahead with that deposit on Alien...

There's a drop target to block the entrance to the upper playfield so it's not going to be perpetually accessible. Could be similar to the Battlefield in The Shadow. I love mini playfields personally, the bigger problem with WWE is that it looked like a chore, this one looks pretty sweet with all the shots.

We'll see mods for this within a week of the game coming out. So easy to make, literally every collector will buy it.

They probably went with the cheapest actor who didn't have a ton of other commitments.

For games like TWD and GOT, I always wondered why they didn't just cut dialog out of the TV shows and try to fit it where appropriate? Is it because, unlike a movie (Ironman has movie quotes, doesn't it?) there is just too many hours of dialog to sift through?
