Quoted from Trekkie1978:

This is how the conversation usually goes with my married friends:
Married friends: "Do you like your life the way it is?"
Me: "I love it the way it is!"
Married friends: "Then don't get married and don't have kids."

Did you mention the part where you are having this conversation wearing a star trek uniform?

I am SHOCKED, SHOCKED I tell you to hear of a grown trekkie thats still single.... SHOCKED!

-confessions of a huge former trekkie.... but then I entered the 5th grade... and discovered girls.

This was a little harsh, I think...even for a douchebag like me. You don't know why he's single, and joking like this doesn't take into account he might be a widower or have had really bad experiences with women (I've been there). Plenty of happily married Trekkies - two of them are friends of mine.

I don't think you can be considered a Trekkie before your brain is developed enough to understand temporal singularities that cause high focus apertures in the space-time continuum diverting quantum chrono-kinetic surges to the Neutral Zone.

If done well, marriage and parenthood can be incredibly rewarding, but they're big and long-lasting commitments of time (and money). Despite all of the headaches, expenses and lack of free time compared to my bachelor days, I cannot imagine life without my wife and children and wouldn't trade that for anything. That said, you don't have to look far to find people that probably would have been much happier had they remained single or childless! There are endless ways to build a happy and fulfilling life, all of them involve compromises and hard decisions. So if you're happy with your life as it is, more power to you!

I thought it was funny.

If I ever get married, the ceremony would go like this:

Priest - "Joe, do you take Princess Leia to be your wife."
Me - "Oh yea."
Priest - "Do you take joe and all of his conditions to be your husband."

In order for me to get married, I'd have to handle the finances, not ask permission to do anything, keep my Camaro, keep my Jets tickets, go to Devils games, keep all of my games, and have time for guys nights out.

I'm not a widower and I have had a ton of bad experiences with women…to the point that I feel like I'm on a hidden camera. I keep watching those hidden camera shows to see when I'll be on.

That was a joke I would have said to a single Trekkie friend that I knew personally. I wouldn't play that card in a forum.

Just my opinion, and it's not really a big deal for me. I was just trying to be sensitive for others (if you didn't recognize it because it happens so seldom with me!). Lowepg is a great guy and I'm sure he meant nothing by it. Moving on...

What's funny, everyone wants me to get married. Yet, they never ask me the most basic question: Do I want to get married? As of right now, that is a big no.

I'm not in the least jealous of the marriages my closest friends have. They tell flat out tell me not to do it (kids and marriage). With those friends, I always ask them if marriage is suppose to be give & take and compromise, how come their spouses do all the taking and never compromise.

I love how I bought KISS LE without asking/checking with someone. I love that I bought GOT LE on a whim without discussing it with someone.

I did the same thing. You can do that when you're happily married and trust each other.

Of course, I also bought a new dining room table I didn't know I had bought.

When are the first USA LE's shipping?

#5664 8 years ago

Since the pro rocks as much as it does, I think everyone should be happy with their LE and premiums!

It's a great game that is lots of fun to play. Great sound, excellent voice and pretty good music. It needs a few minor bug fixes and scoring balances, but that's to be expected for a new release these days. I think this game will be a big seller for Stern!

If stern can make ~40 games /day (a rough number I've heard before) then they might be almost done the 700 LE games.

Hoping to have my Pre for New Year's Eve

I looked up Bob Stevlic (the artist who made the GOTLE cab and backglass art work) and in my opinion we were all way to hard on the art work. These drawing look really good. I acquired them off his facebook page. https://www.facebook.com/Bob-Stevlic-Illustration-123361607406/

Certainly better than pictures, I still haven't seen an LE in person but the artwork is growing on me, the pro cab art/bachglass is hideous but the gamplay is fantastic, if are dollar wasn't so shit I would be be in on the LE/Pre for sure.

I lights up really nicely, looks great in person. I think he just got caught up in the general backlash against how the theme was ultimately represented and presented. He did good work.
