A friend of mine did. He got the White Water. You can see the hammer prices here: https://www.liveauctioneers.com/h/?pagenum=1&ah=1098-15460
The friend noted that it was hammer price + about 30% for the final price.

Quoted from MrSanRamon:Wondering if anyone has one or 2 of these they might be willing to part with:
Laser Cue, Black Pyramid, Centaur, EB Deluxe (1981), Jungle Lord, Gorgar, Seawitch or Harlem Globetrotters.
Robert
Feel free to swing by sometime and play Gorgar.
I should have some time at the end of December to help with the audio on your retheme. Been booked up with work projects, but we have a year end shut down coming up.
Selling a Judge Dredd: https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/for-sale-judge-dredd-52
Quoted from gunstarhero:5 years in the iso cube for the sale of a Judge!
I have two, so I am safe!
Dropped my JD price.
Quoted from TKDalumni:Why place the $ sign at the end of the number (200$)?
Some countries put the symbol after the decimal, including parts of French speaking Canada.
Quoted from TKDalumni:I completely understand that other countries do that, but we are in The United States.
My guess would be that andre060 is likely from somewhere else, and slips into it on occasion. Or maybe he just did it on accident. I've seen it on occasion, and I always just assumed that the person spent some time in a non-US market.
Quoted from topkat:Curious if anyone has advice moving two pins. Normally one fits in my suv no prob but it’s glss up. Have you guys done 2 on their side? On vaca trying to figure logistics before head back
I've gotten two in my minivan(Toyota Siena) several times. I even got two wide body games(a pair of Judge Dredds) in there by flipping one on its side and playing Tetris with them. Don't forget to take the balls out of the one being flipped though....
Quoted from Colsond3:Hopefully I don’t run into the most annoying family on the planet.
I think that would actually be my extended family.
That being said, CAX definitely is the place to be this weekend....
Quoted from topkat:wow those look like great deals, how does that work?
I agree. I might be willing to jump on a machine if we could make a deal to get it back to the bay area.
Quoted from Eskaybee:So I’ll be in Pleanston this week on business. Any recommendations on where to play some pinball in that area?
I second the votes for Flipper Room and Phoenix Games. You'll run out of time before you run out of pins just between those two locations. Also, Thursday is league night at Phoenix Games, so feel free to join us.
Quoted from Only68s:There are some really good prices, but there are already multiple people on the reserve list to buy them.
The vendor is adding another 50 or so games to the list shortly. Keep an eye out. They should be available before the sale, so you might get lucky.
Quoted from vicjw66:The best deals for the import container have already been reserved. What’s left is the bottom of the barrel.
As I mentioned, there is another batch of machines being added to the list right now. So, in addition to what is left on the original list, there will be new machines added. Looks like a couple of Monster Bash's, NBA FB, another SS, just based on the video I saw. Lots more I couldn't ID. I'm waiting for the updated list.
Quoted from vicjw66:And of those new games being added, will the best deals be picked off by the organizers before they even show up on the list?
The organizer is trying to get people to stick with their original machines to avoid changes while they work out the last details(note: I am not an organizer, just a purchaser), but I got into the deal towards the end and found several nice deals that I will be happy with.
Quoted from vicjw66:Just pointing out that the rest of us are being recruited to subsidize the organizers shipping costs is all. And also to point
No one is recruiting you. And it's not sight unseen, though obviously we're not examining them in person. I don't expect to be losing money, but I'm also not trying to buy games to make a killing, either. The difference in shipping looks to me to be pretty negligible. If the deals don't grab you, cool beans. I had to think about my choices, too.
Quoted from o-din:I have a hard enough time dealing with assholes selling my own shit, but if a friend paid me enough, I might consider it.
I've done connection style stuff before("if you guys are interested in X, contact my friend here..."). Listing a sale on pinside from a non-pinsider seems to me to be about the same thing.
Quoted from SirrPinalot:Anyone have or know someone with an aliens shooting game(arcade obviously) I´m right next to SJ
I just made a deal with a guy in Concord for another game, and he had an Alien Armageddon for sale as well:
sfbay.craigslist.org link
I've got a couple of pieces of Stern Whitestar hardware. One is a DMD + display board. The other is a 520-5300-00 MPU. Both came from a working machine. Got an ad up for the MPU, but not for the DMD yet. PM with an offer.
I helped move a Hot Wheels into a house a couple of weeks ago, if we are going on tangents. Didn't get to play it(yet).
Adding a quick video taken tonight
Quoted from apessino:Tempted to get this just to see my wife's face when I bring it in...
This was my wife's game for a long time. It was a favorite at my pinball parties.
Quoted from twinmice:I know, but i would like to have both up and running at the same time. Thanks Mike
Can the virtualpin guys cut you a flat pack for this?
Ok, I have been trying for a while to get a project up to the Bay area from Irwindale. It's not working out to get a shipper I know there to grab the machine, and the cost of getting it here is making the "deal" a lot less attractive anyway. So, if you are in that area and looking for a project(and this is definitely a heavy project), PM me for the details. I'll give you the contact info I have in return for letting me borrow a part so I can duplicate it. Alternatively, if you aren't looking for a major project and are traveling this way anyway, PM me.
Thanks in advance.
Quoted from Pinbub:Looking for a Gottlieb coin door for a 1975 Top Score.
Quoted from jorge5240:I created a thread but it was moderated. How the heck do you post want to buy on here anymore? It was pretty annoying.
You create a wanted ad. You have the option to create a post linked to the ad.
Make me an offer.
Quoted from Gribbs:I’m just an old fuddy-duddy who preferred when people DIDN’T live, do drugs and shit in the street. I just need to embrace the ‘change’ brought by the ‘young people’. All change is good!
If by "young people" you mean your ancestors from thousands of years ago, then yes. This has been a problem since the evolution of the city.
I've seen it my whole life, in every state I've lived. In the small towns, cops just "escort" the homeless to the edge of the county and make it someone else's problem, when they don't just jail them for vagrancy, so the problem "disappears." It's not special to California. It's not even special to the USA.
Even in your town of Scottsdale, the number of homeless people doubled from 2017 to 2020. Sounds like a familiar problem: https://www.scottsdale.org/city_news/scottsdale-camping-ban-may-target-homeless-people/article_865d858a-af5b-11eb-b7ea-ab6a37e186a7.html
So, hate on California all you want, but let's not pretend that this is not happening everywhere.
Quoted from Reznnate:Now, can we go back to discussing our $10k game-boxes of lights and sounds? This homeless discussion is making me feel uncomfortable.
Quoted from Ericpinballfan:I'd get it for you and bring to pagg next week.
But, and a BIG BUT, I don't know if I should get involved at this point.
This game and that pricing now seems to .....
Something ain't right.
Well, if you wanted to do that, I'd definitely be grateful. If it doesn't feel safe, don't do it. But I've gotten good deals like that on the past, and it's usually just someone who has a machine stashed somewhere and needs money.
Quoted from SoCalPinballs:I purchased the game. Jason is a cool guy. I have bought machines from him and he has bought machines from me. Definitely not sketchy. However the machine needs to be completely sanded down and decals applied because the paint has flaked off it completely on the head and most of the body. It’s going to be a lot of work but that’s what I do.
Awesome! I'm glad it was a legit deal!
Dropped the price on JP Lost World.
Quoted from wayinla:Long shot here, but does anyone have a source for naphtha in SoCal?
Anyone relatively local have a sys 11 coin door harness for sale, by any chance? Or even a whole coin door?
Once I have better pics, I'll be putting them in marketplace, and any that sell here will get a pinside donation.
Anyone looking for a 78 world cup project in the bay area for cheap?
I'll throw an ad up once I get pics. Not my machine. If it sells before the ad, I'll send pinside the normal amount.
Quoted from StrangeSubset1:Late model games for $5k still exists?
Sure. You just better be first in line when they pop up.
Quoted from StrangeSubset1:Well, the Poster said late model. Not sure if I would consider this late model. Not sure, maybe he could clarify, but I would have guessed less than 10 years old.
I interpreted that as post 2000 era, which would include the RCT that I hauled ass to get recently. Been a while since I've seen a crazy deal pop up. Prices are climbing here faster than I can keep up.
I picked up a couple of machines but some plans fell through, so I'm passing them on. Let's make a deal.
Quoted from MrSanRamon:Mike,
I don't have space for another game...but I would like to come by and play the Monte Carlo, if that's ok?
Bob
Text me.
Anyone looking for a Comet? I need to move a game to buy some parts. I'll add an ad when I get a chance to take some pictures. Currently located at Phoenix Games in Concord.
Quoted from pinballboy:get really lucky and find cheap machines, then I usually try to sell them cheap to give people a chance to buy a pinball if they have never had one.
Indeed. I tend to scoop up beaters that other people don't want, get them flipping and pass them on to the next owner. Some of my favorite stories to tell are the adventures I have dragging some sorry, borked machine out of a warehouse or barn and the feeling you get the first time you get a successful boot. That's the draw for me. I pretty much break even on my games(and we all know that if we factor in labor, it's deep in the negative), so I don't feel bad about picking up and selling machines.
Quoted from JakeFAttie:Not trying to insult anyone, just trying to understand how some one can have a few hundred thousand dollars worth of pinball machines and a family too.
I have 6 in my garage right now. They fight for space with the nice bicycles my family rides.
I have 5 projects in a storage unit and a friend's house.
I have 2 machines on route.
The projects get moved in and out.
I've sold 25 or so games.
And I'm not a millionaire.
EDIT: I also sold off a nice collection of vintage SCUBA regulators recently, so I also swap out old hobbies for this. Pinball is something I can share with my family, so it works well.
Quoted from fireball2:Flipper Football from my other brother Mike that one dude for 900.
I'll always hook you up, brother!
Quoted from fireball2:Same same here, Mang. You sure you don't want a Genie?
If I had any space left, I might.
My wife and I brought another couple of Lynn's Arcade in Seaside. The wife was adamant that she wasn't interested in pinball, especially the newer games with complex rules and big multiballs.
Guess who fell in love with Metallica during a frenetic Sparky multiball....
Got a couple of things for sale.
Quoted from Aurich:Where the Bay Area homebrewers at?
I have 4 cabinets sitting in my storage unit right now. If someone wanted to help, I'd could be pumping out soo many machines....
Quoted from Miguel351:When I went to the ad on the desktop site, it says it was listed 28 weeks ago. I imagine it's long gone by now, plus it looks like it's lived outside for a looooong time.
I tried to talk to the guy when it first was listed, and got no response. When he marked it as free yesterday, I got a message, so I randomly tried to ping him again. This time he talked to me, and as of yesterday, the machine was available. He offered to leave it on the curb for me.
Quoted from Energyspike:Did you pick it up from the curb?
No, I put it on here to give people who were closer a chance to grab it.
If nothing else, I would love the populated playfield from it. I like to recreate games with enhanced rules(like the Middle Earth that will make appearance #2 at GSPF this year). I'm hoping to have enough time to do this with my F-14 playfield, as well.
Quoted from bicyclenut:However I am picking up a T2 on Friday and have no clue were I'm putting it.
I completely understand this. I had to leave a machine in my van for a week while I was waiting for another game to sell :O
Quoted from Hana9so:Have a lower body of a Xenon for sale.
If you were in Northern California, I'd already be knocking at your door. Anyone traveling this way who wants to do a huge favor for a fellow pinhead?
Listed my RCT today.
Quoted from Rarehero:If anyone wants a project DE playboy “cheap” by todays standards, hit me up and I’ll give you his info.
Depending on the price, it might be worth it to bring to Golden State this weekend.
It's always a good time for a swap meet.
