Quoted from o-din:

This is one case where supply does not equal demand.

There is an economic term called a Giffen Good in which demand increases as the price increases, and falls when the price decreases.

Though it sounds like it describes the original MM more than TAF.

Quoted from Aurich:

Guy is already asking people for offers, so looks like he saw the demand and wants to turn it into a bidding war.

Posting the craigslist ad on pinside definitely provided greater exposure, and may have been the impetus for the seller knowing his pricing mistake. Not sure if posting the ad here was really helpful to pinsiders as much as it was to the seller.

Does anyone have a working used 6-digit display from a Firepower (or compatible) system 6 game?

#2770 8 years ago
Quoted from TKDalumni:

Wow. Let me keep this as simple as possible for a simple minded person:
YOU:
That is, how much it was before the "windex wipe-down"!
$700 mark up and you didn't even have the decency to put a matching mirror blade on the right side. You have officially reached "flipper" status
ME:
All the insults and slander you directed towards Doomid, you inadvertently are saying about Alan. Pretty tacky man.

He never said anything negative toward Alan, neither directly or inadvertently.

You misunderstood what he said.

Quoted from jwwhite15:

Although I almost always feel like they are high (and I am pretty sure I have never commented on them) I said nothing about his prices...

You haven't said a thing about his prices...yet... Let's wait 5 minutes.

Quoted from jwwhite15:

Yep, Bernie Madoff was just trying to make a living too...just like everyone else...c'mon dude that's not an excuse and doesn't allow inexcusable practices or actions.

There you have it.

#3338 7 years ago
Quoted from TheOnlyest:

. i'm just the victim of those folks driving up the prices of things. I wasn't responsible for the housing market crash either. No ARM here, but i'll be damned if after 17 years of on-time payments, i'm upside-down in my house!!?

Is your house worth more now than it was when you bought it 17 years ago? I'm certain your selling price would not be based on the price you paid for it two decades ago.

Sellers are not responsible for value. Value is determined by what others are willing to pay.

Quoted from IdahoRealtor:

Bought 4 months ago. Owned over a year. LOL

To be fair, that quote was completely taken out of context.

In the original post, he says he bought it 4 months ago. Then below he quotes the original ad from the seller he bought it from.

It's part of the original seller's ad that says he (original seller) owned it for over a year.

Still kinda sucks to charge others for his own shipping costs though.

#3672 7 years ago
Quoted from Fleetside61:

The game is worth over what I am asking for it.

If your intention is to sell the game, then the game is actually worth what someone will pay for it.

I have a friend interested in getting a Jacks Open.

PM me if you know of one for sale. Thanks.

Yep. You know her too.

The best thing about Centaur is the art.

Looking at the game never got old. But playing it did.

Quoted from Shado1w:

Huo Mustang pinball for sale 4100.00 with mods. The game is flawless. Also willing to trade for a Walking Dead pro or premium, I can add cash if need be. Open to other trades like NGG, Indiana Jones Williams, let me know what you have.

I know I'm in deep when I look at the picture of your Mustang backglass and I think I see TSPP, Shadow, and WCS94.

Quoted from patrickvc:

Looking for a Creature. Located in Phoenix. Will drive

There is a nice looking one on SF bay area craigslist right now (San Rafael). The seller is probably on Pinside.

Price is $5800, which seems high to me, but the ad says it's the lowest price around, so what do I know? Game looks nice.

#4460 7 years ago
Quoted from rotordave:

I can't really see the issue.
If you have a pin for sale, post:
Selling my Xenon pin, mint condition, looking for $3000. Pm me for photos.
Done. No fee. No crisis.
rd

Exactly.

I'm in the minority. I hate the pics in this thread.

They can take up so much space scrolling down when I have no interest in a particular game.

Save the pics for those who respond and send pics (or a link to pics) directly.

Quoted from Sparky:

Yep, that's it. I didn't realize he was on Pinside. He's also in Susanville, not Sunnyvale. My mistake.

Game appears to come with an unlikely to beat 64 million grand champion score from Neil Schatz.

True, but in terms of width, he's probably not too far away.

Quoted from SpamMusubi310:

When selling a machine, has anyone gotten contacted by someone who just so happens to sign up to Pinside the same day as posting and has no information in their profile?
Should I overly suspicious?

Doesn't sound particularly suspicious to me. Certainly not any worse than someone not on pinside at all.

Anyone can view without being a member. If someone is looking for a game, the only way to make contact is by signing up.

As previously mentioned, just take normal precautions. I think it's always good to talk on the phone to assess the likelihood of a smooth transaction.

Usually if they can't bother to call, you get a pretty good idea how it will go.

So I live in Arizona but work up in the Bay Area( San Jose) this apartment up here is small af so I’m looking for something like a mini virtual pinball machine.
Anyone ever bought one or have one to sell?

I'm not familiar with these, but there is an ultra pin VR for sale in Manteca. It's about 75 min from San Jose.

Chris Fox came to my house without a dolly, dropped my Paperboy, and scratched my Baby Pac Man, and didn't take responsibility for it. I'll never use him again.

The odds of that happening again are astronomical.

This is not really clear.

Are you quoting the guy or talking about yourself?

You need to switch pronouns if you're not directly quoting the guy.

I have never personally bought or sold a game from this seller, but other Pinsiders have had good things to say.

I have personally played this game though, and I can vouch for it.

#11264 1 year ago
Quoted from darkryder:

Thanks, I never really played the game much as was always fixing factory issues or installing mods. Now it’s done and I’m afraid to play it due to the value and never ending wait for final code. I’m on the fence about selling it as I’m sure I’ll regret it. No doubt the game is a masterpiece.

I've played the hell outta mine and never had any issues. Never even thought to be concerned when I played it. It's been totally reliable.

But my Alien was another story. I was always worried that game would die and become a worthless paper weight with no company supporting it.

So I understand what you're saying, but I don't think it's a valid concern with POTC.

Last I checked, a map, yes. Unless I missed something and the eastern seaboard fell into the ocean, pretty sure most wouldn't call Utah the midwest.

Nobody made any reference to it being the Midwest except you.

Pretty sure nobody would call Utah the west coast either, except maybe you. Check your map again.

Quoted from Llabnip1972:
