Quoted from mikeincali:Selling a Williams Speedway woodrail from 1948.Contact me for more pics.
Now who could possibly want that!
Quoted from zucot:Price lowered to 4150 with color dmd.
Pull the color DMD and put it in your Judge Dredd and Shadow should get you $3500. No Dredd? Sorry, I can't help you with that.
Quoted from C2CPinball:When it rains it pours.
You've got that right! Nice to see those rivers of water flowing down the streets again.
Quoted from iwantansi:HOW MUCH FOR THE DREDD?!
https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/judge-dredd-is-a-1400-game-folks
Quoted from Jean-Luc-Picard:Do you really need that couch?
Yeah and that stupid cabinet with a bunch of dishes on display that nobody will ever eat off of.
If anybody in the bay area is heading down to So Cal in the not too distant future and could pick this one up and bring it along dinner at El Farolito's is on me! And I'll chip in on gas too.
sfbay.craigslist.org link
Quoted from SpamMusubi310:Bump for O-Din's offer! El Farolito's food is awesome! My wife and I go there frequently.
Thanks! El Farolito Jr. is pretty good too.
Quoted from iwantansi:I think I know of a few people coming down for the auction.
Sweet! I'd like that antique in my line-up if anybody can help me out.
Quoted from IdahoRealtor:Sly Fox shipping is like $150 door to door, no pallet necessary. He's the man for any in state stuff.
Hey NorCal, are you anywhere near this one?
Quoted from rotordave:It might be time for an Odin road trip!
I like that $150 shipping deal myself. Just need somebody to secure the deal. It's not the most desirable title for most, but if anybody knows why I want it, it's you Dave!
Quoted from rotordave:And only $350 too! Score-o-Rama!!
Another moving target game. I think you get it! $100 for whoever picks it up.
Quoted from rotordave:Get on the phone to the $150 dude now
Yeah, who is this dude?
Even if it cost me $600 total including getting it here, it's still a good deal to me because I have paid much more for them. And I wouldn't be planning on selling it. It is a rare machine. And it looks like it has been well taken care of.
You should see my garage! Hey, if somebody else wants it and gets to it first, I don't have a problem with that. I just get them to keep them alive and play them. I'd just hate to see a game like this get parted out and sent to the scrap heap. Too much of that has happened already. Plus I can tell it is a good player
Quoted from Gryphun:My 8yr old daughter and I are looking at this machine tomorrow (we live in Concord).
Wanted to get this for her and the other girl scouts that visit our house.
If you decide to get it, that is a worthy cause. Kids love these kind of games, but some are hard to play without some practice. It may need some work to get it 100%. If you decide to get it and decide not to keep it, let me know. I can fix these old games in my sleep.
If you pass on it could you take some better pics of the playfield and backglass? I've got Steve going over there on Monday if it hasn't sold by then and I'd like a little better look at it before he does. Thanks!
Thanks! Like I said if you do buy it and change your mind I will call Sly Fox and see if he can pick it up.
Thanks, but we'll see how it works out for Gryphun first. I guess there are other interested parties as well. Hopefully whoever does get it won't be buying it for parts. Like I said if anybody does get it I will call Sly Fox if they don't want it.
Quoted from Gryphun:Update on the Williams Coquette. Its in great shape - been in the family since 1970 (grandfather was a process engineer) - came with original schematics. Bought the machine and the kids love it.
I'm so stoked for you and the kids! Couldn't have gone to a better home. Any problems on this machine shouldn't be too hard to chase down and fix.
Congrats! And kids these days really do know what they want in a pinball machine.
Or she will be asking why the flippers are so big on the newer games. My daughter prefers the two inch flipper games. And can compete with us and win.
Send it to me! I'll fix it.
No, that's a strange problem. let me think about it and if I come up with something I'll let you know.
Quoted from jaydee49:Any suggestions on where I can get a custom sized playfield glass for my pitch & bat in the SF Bay Area? It's roughly 23 x 39.
Any glass shop will get you a sheet of tempered any size you want. Say no bugs and they won't etch tempered on it.
Quoted from NimblePin:Hot Tip EM up for sale. $800 firm.
I have seen and played this Hot Tip. And I did some work on it too.
Quoted from TheOnlyest:That's that clown in Fullerton
He's pretty funny but I wouldn't go as far to call him a clown. I've bought many games from him and never had a complaint. He has even bought some back and gave me what I paid. But we do like to clown around sometimes.
Quoted from TheOnlyest:People seem to be hoarding the non-thrashed Cyclones lately too!
He sold me a real nice one with an NOS fully populated playfield recently installed at a very fair price.
I didn't know him until I bought my first machine but in person he was very honest and straightforward and provided service after the sale which from what I can tell he still does. If theres a problem he tries to make it right but some people can't be pleased. If high advertised prices bother you then it would be best to stay away from all the new pin manufacturers and their outragious suggested retail prices. We have become friends and he is not a bad guy, just trying to scrape a living together like everybody else and he works very hard at it.
Quoted from TheOnlyest:Ahhh, so you're the one!! lol
I wasn't going to pass it up and he took one of my other games in trade. Nice guy!
Quoted from Reality_Studio:I recently bought my Scared Stiff from a guy in Fullerton who I presume is the same one you are talking about. He was cool, straightforward guy and I was very happy with the table.
Pretty nice Scared Stiff wasn't it? I think anytime you do a local purchase or sale when you can deal face to face, there is less chance of a letdown on either end.
That Scared Stiff made a stop at my house for a day. I was just helping out. But that's what we do around here. Help each other out. Surfside tries to make sure there are no problems with any of the games before he sells them and has a good tech that works for him. Sometimes things can happen in transit and he tries to help from the other end. Of course your game needed nothing.
Quoted from jwwhite15:c'mon dude that's not an excuse and doesn't allow inexcusable practices or actions.
This is the part I don't know anything about. He's always been straight with me.
I like watching those classic car auctions. It's amazing what some some will pay just because they have to have it. I wish I had bought that AC Cobra for 10 grand when I was 18.
When the big one hits many may find their houses upside down. I'm just glad mines paid off so I will be able to sift thru the rubble and use that reverse mortgage to buy an RV to live in on my driveway.
Quoted from smassa:And to think that same SS was sold for $4500 not that long ago. (;
Seems pretty high for any 20 year old pinball machine doesn't it? Heck, people are paying $8000+ for new machines that aren't even made yet. Then they go and spend hundreds more on color DMDs, toppers, invisiglass, fancy rubbers, etc.
It's madness, I tell you!
So if I was to post a bunch of machines for way less than you think I should, would you give me shit too?
Quoted from TheOnlyest:Thank you, a fact that I was not aware of... But still, would I pay an extra 3 grand for a thin factory clearcoat that technically was inferior in long-term protection to a good ol mylar? ummm NOT!
Some of us really don't care what you would pay.
Quoted from BenetBoy78:You guys know the story, get the truck ready for the drive, get the wife's permission
The last part I can't relate to. But I do remember inquiring about your Frontiersman and Dragonette that you would never sell.
Quoted from TheOnlyest:nobody asked you
But you post your negative opinions here for everybody to see. Why are you so concerned what other people want to list their machines for when you have no intent of even making an offer? That's my point.
I'm just wondering why it means so much to you that you have to rant everytime somebody prices something too high for you. If it's too rich for my blood, I just move on.
And I like rattlesnakes.
Quoted from Eskaybee:So are there any reasonable Pins for sale in CA?
You might want to check the Captain's auction next Saturday. There are a lot.
Quoted from bigbadmiker:Can you get a deal with his employees bidding stuff up?
Some stuff goes high, but I have found there are deals to be had. They just want it all gone. Find a decent looking machine that isn't quite working right and set your limit ahead of time. With over 100 machines this time, there is only so much bidding money to go around. Those are the auctions I like.
Quoted from jfesler:Hmm. That's like the second non-EM.
Is this the same O-din?
Quoted from Rarehero:That was the 90's. It's now 2016.
Quoted from rvdv:It's actually for a : Cherokee
Made by Recreativo Franco
OK that thing looks cool! Probably Williams inside. Lots of moving parts. What is the issue? If it's anything like a Grand Prix, it can be a major undertaking.
Quoted from MrArt2u:Maybe Cherokee comes and spends some time in Pasadena...
I could do it, but it is better you than me at the moment. Place is full and I have two games to finish with another on the way.
Thanks for volunteering!
Quoted from TKDalumni:You didn't want the $7500 faded, re-import Whitewater instead?? Surprising...
No, not really. I didn't even plug this one in or open it up until I got it home. And I didn't need a warranty.
But I can see by your thumbs down that you may not agree...
Quoted from bellbrand:Anyone selling a fun EM in or around the 600 range
The fun ones go for twice that much.
But I am thinking of letting my nice Dirty Harry go for $2800. 3k with invisiglass that's on it. Cash and local pickup only.
Quoted from bellbrand:But ya I might be kicked out of the house if a pin with clowns came home with me.
I don't have any clown EMs, but lots of pretty ladies..
Quoted from TheOnlyest:a lot of unsolicited hate gets thrown my way. lol
You reap what you sow.
Dirty Harry has been sold pending payment to Billy16. Thanks!
Quoted from TheOnlyest:Absolutely, and i'm very used to being misunderstood, especially online. Plus, all us Vegas folks are quite used to tolerating self-obsessed, whiney, hyper-sensitive, ultra-defensive "So Cal" people
If you have been in the pinball business as long as you say you have, it might have behooved you to get nice examples of the games you now seek when they were more affordable before pinball inflation took hold. Either you can make friends that can get you good deals now or you don't.
Quoted from TheOnlyest:What you repeatedly fail to understand about me is, i'm not looking for "affordable", i'm looking for realistic VALUE on distressed/neglected machines. I have all the money I need to buy any machines I want, but I am nobody's "sucker"
I'm sorry if I misunderstood you. In your posts you come across as a guy with a much larger ego than billfold. Carry on...
Quoted from TheOnlyest:Hell, my WIFE is from Glendale!! lol
Your wife is from hell?
I know a guy in Arizona that has one NIB. I think he wants good money for it though. I can call him if you like.
Quoted from Billy16:Had a great time at O-din's place today. After seeing his great collection of EM's (and playing a few--most of which kicked my a$$), I can now understand why he is captivated by these old games--they are so cool! I'll never pass by a wood rail or EM at a pinball show again without checking it out. Rock on, bro!
Thanks Billy! It was a pleasure. Always like seeing the enthusiasm when somebody into pinball gets to try these games that they may have not seen before. I know I never saw any of them before. Hope you had fun and Dirty Harry has gone to a good home. Enjoy it!
Quoted from Fleetside61:I am selling for what I bought it for plus shipping.
I always like to pay for somebody elses shipping. GLWS!
I'm looking to puchase any of these Williams titles. Will pay ca$h! -
Eager Beaver
Fun House
Can Can
Coquette
Snafu
And
Bally Wiggler
Thanks!
Quoted from Billy16:I wondered if you had a Wiggler--hope you score one so I can see it!
You just never know what's going to wiggle it's way around here next!
Quoted from Spock:May as well add your electric bill for all the electricity it consumed.
You can read into that ad all you want, but this is the part I'm trying to figure out-
Quoted from Fleetside61:I purchased this recently from Zucot about 4 months ago.
I've had the game for over a year and the tiny spot has not grown at all. Other pictures show the restoration that was done on the sanctum.
What other pictures?
Quoted from centerflank:BTW, glad you ended your hiatus!
You can check out anytime you like, but you can never leave!
Hi Rob.
The guy I sold my Dirty Harry to got a very good deal then .
Any more and it should at least be a drop target game.
Quoted from Aurich:That didn't take long!
I'm not sure I'll ever end up puting 50 plays on one. So I say, a job well done!
Quoted from TheOnlyest:Got rid of my wife last week
Congrats! Did you get what you were asking?
Quoted from TheOnlyest:Yes, plenty of barely dressed babes lately, now that its 100+ degrees everyday, and all summer long... But they're tourists, not dating options unfortunately.
That never stopped me. Tourist girls are the best!
Quoted from Spock:Anyone have a Jungle Queen (or) Jungle Princess for sale? Or have one and reading this and now want to sell it to me
Not mine, but here's one.
If you use your pin wrench for more than four hours at a time, see a doctor.
(Use with caution- Excessive use may cause profuse sweating, diarrhea, vomiting, constipation, heart attacks, and/or stroke. And in some cases even death)
Quoted from Spock:My Tundra has 199k miles.
That means it's well on it's way to running forever.
Quoted from NimblePin:Good thing it's not even noone yet
Looks like even Peter's starting to feel the heat.
The thermometer on the church across from work always reads a little high, but right now it's reading 128 degrees in direct sunlite. Never seen that before.
Quoted from NimblePin:if this is indeed accurate, we are most definitely SCREWED for summer.
Nothing a little zinc oxide wouldn't help.
Quoted from Reality_Studio:From general observation and talking to others. Tons went to landfills, you can ask most anyone about that
Truth.
If anybody's looking for the nicest Williams Grand Prix I've seen in years, maybe ever, this one's very fair priced and in the San Diego area.
For those that have never played Grand Prix, it's fast and fun.
Quoted from fnosm:Looks good. Are the targets drop or stationary? In the pictures I can't see the "B" target. Any ideas?
It's got it all. Drop targets, kickout holes and two of the rippenest spinners in pinball.
Looks like "G" is for gone! Somebody scored a very nice Grand Prix. Big money maker back in the day.
I just placed an ad in the marketplace for my 1957 Williams Steeple Chase. Very nice condition with an NOS playfield installed and a perfect backglass. $2600

Quoted from Spock:really rather buy an EM in person.
Maybe none on your list, but if I was up there I would scurry on over to this place and see what's available
And Bronco is not a bad one for the price-
Quoted from Spock:I have a few that he is going to assemble and see if they work. If so, possibly buying 2 from that list.
Take a look at Surf Side. I have one and it is a great playing game although a two player.
I would really be interested in that Oh Boy, working or not. If you could report the condition to me, I would buy it and maybe we could get a better deal and I could have slyfox bring it on down.
Thanks!
Welcome to the hotel California. I once heard you can check out any time you like, but you can never leave. I guess that's a good enough reason to stay.
Quoted from Eskaybee:Btw; a majority of us in this thread and on pinside do not make money in this hobby.
This is true. The only ones that seem to make money are those that are not required to use the pinside marketplace, but just randomly selling in different threads and never post an ad.
And thanks again for bringing Ripley's back.
Easy way around it. Post your pics in the game clubs, and link them here with the price and location.
Heck, whatever the rules allow. Because obviously whatever rules there are do not apply to everybody.
Is anybody else in So Cal having trouble with their AT+T home internet?
Mine went out middle of last week and was supposed to be up and running Friday, now they are saying next Friday. Something about a server blew up in a storm last week is all they can tell me.
Landline works fine, but AT+T DSL is out. I'm ready to pull the plug and go cable. Too much time on the phone, and not getting a decent response.
Same service is working fine at the job 5 miles away.
We used to have Comcast but now it's Time Warner. AT&T had suckered me in with their bargain DSL but now it costs as much as any. No way am I ever going u-verse with their unreliable service. At one time many years ago I had told myself I would never deal with AT&T again. Should have listened to myself.
On the same note don't just buy a game because it's expensive and rated highly. You may end up very disappointed.
It cracks me up that people are still whining about the flipper gap on GB. hahaha..lol..
Anyway I've got a decent players condition Flash that I just went completely through including all new flipper parts and coils, rubbers, wax, took apart and cleaned all solenoids, drop targets..etc. $700 in north OC.
I need a spot for Flash Gordon I picked up vesterday.
Emperor Wang is waiting for a new Alltek board as I believe the lady that owned it might have bought it new and didn't bother to ever change the batteries. But besides that it is as nice a Flash Gordon as I could ever hope to find.
