There are a few LE games for sale in SoCal, a Metallica for $17k amongst others. I'm curious how these price trends will affect the lower tier games. At 17k for an LE, suddenly my pro for 10k sounds like a fair shake.

Quoted from Dr-Willy:

There are next to no games going for under 4K now. This hobby has jumped the shark.

Build your own with Mission Pinball Framework and a P-Roc, FAST or CobraPin board. I built a Joust when it became unobtanium.

Seenev downvoted your post. I’m guessing he got priced out of the housing market because he was not successful in life. People who are not successful in life tend to blame California. If Seenev accidentally downvoted your post like I have done on several occasions, I apologize.

The best buys right now in pinball are NIB Stern Pros. That seems to furthering itself from reality with the new price hike as well along with my interest in pinball as something to tinker on.

Quoted from dapperdan24:

Offering my HUO first owner Elvira HOH (premium) with Stern topper, low plays, tilt art blades, all Medisinyl mods, Stern shooter rod, dripping blood sling/lane protectors, new Titans and balls, lollipop rails from PBL, external audio controls/headphone jack, green lit flipper buttons, speaker lights, green coin rejects to match start button and flipper lights, dripping blood speaker accents and shooter accent, Lermods crypt mod and lighting, lockdown bar/button surround, custom magnetic instruction cards, and maybe some other little things I forgot.

Well alright! Now looking to sell my EHOH as I've lined up a purchase on a Wonka. Love to keep it local. Probably going to list in the marketplace later at $12,500 or best offer. Not sure with the boatload of goodies on her what the value would come in at. Let me know if there is any interest-

If only I liked the game. The call-outs get old pretty quick.

Totally agree. Plus it's kind of far from me so it would be a mission to get it any time soon before someone else snatches it. I'd be more willing to make that effort if it was a better title.

#10409 2 years ago

If someone could bring that to pinagogo, I'd totally buy it.

That sold quick. Who got it here?

#10412 2 years ago
Quoted from Gribbs:

Yeah. What do West Coast cities and Austin, Texas have in common? Hmmmm….

They have services that draw homeless from other states. If one city makes it a crime to sleep outside and another is giving out free tents where would you go if you were homeless? It's a problem for sure. The current policies are consolidating the homeless.

Man, what happened to this thread? I see there's a bunch of posts and figure people are selling games, but it's just bitching about California. Half of it from people who apparently hate our state but want to buy our pins.

Lemme know when my Metallica LE is worth $17k though. That's wild.

If it were closer to my location there would be no doubt I would buy it right when it was listed. It brings nostalgia for me.

I own a home here in the greater Los Angeles area that has skyrocketed in value in the last few years. I guess I must not be successful in life though because I acknowledge California's increasingly severe problems.

You sound like old money my dude. I keep hearing all this severe talk about this state because everything is changing and old people don't like change. Let me know when your house is for sale, I'll trade ya some pins for it

So no Jack Bauer racing through California for $3,000-$4,000? Mr. President, you must understand, there must be one hiding in the shadows.

I’m just an old fuddy-duddy who preferred when people DIDN’T live, do drugs and shit in the street. I just need to embrace the ‘change’ brought by the ‘young people’. All change is good!

Looking to trade a Pinball Brothers Alien for a Rick and Morty. May bring the Alien to PAGG. Located in Dublin. This is from the 2nd shipment of games.

#10423 2 years ago

I would consider throwing my Rick & Morty into a three way trade if someone else wants Alien and has something interesting to put in the pot . I will also be at PAGG .

If by "young people" you mean your ancestors from thousands of years ago, then yes. This has been a problem since the evolution of the city.
I've seen it my whole life, in every state I've lived. In the small towns, cops just "escort" the homeless to the edge of the county and make it someone else's problem, when they don't just jail them for vagrancy, so the problem "disappears." It's not special to California. It's not even special to the USA.
Even in your town of Scottsdale, the number of homeless people doubled from 2017 to 2020. Sounds like a familiar problem: https://www.scottsdale.org/city_news/scottsdale-camping-ban-may-target-homeless-people/article_865d858a-af5b-11eb-b7ea-ab6a37e186a7.html

So, hate on California all you want, but let's not pretend that this is not happening everywhere.

OMG, don't use data, it hurts my brain. I think with my heart and whatever *** tells me I should believe.

That said, the rise in 'unsheltered homeless' is very bad. Changes should be made to help those living in squalor.

Now, can we go back to discussing our $10k game-boxes of lights and sounds? This homeless discussion is making me feel uncomfortable.

Pinside has really gone to shit. Every thread I look at is people just trying to one up each other for who can be a bigger jerk behind the keyboard. We're so far beyond the ridiculous brand loyalty contests, it's not Stern vs JJP now, everything in personal and nasty.

I dunno what happened.

Pandemic made people lose their minds. The political divide got too strong. Game prices just driving people crazy. Whatever, all I know is I don't really enjoy being around here much anymore.

I just skip right over the nonrelated stuff and stick with the pinball stuff, for example in this thread - stuff for sale in CA. There are still a lot of good things going on here, just have to ignore the nonsense.

That ad seemed really suspicious. He "knew" they sold for $6k+ yet he was listing it below market value at $1200? Yeah I dunno about that, I don't think I'd walk into that pickup without some heavy backup.

Ok but we just got another "word police" thread in the last couple days and I thought those died out in 2008. Hang in there, it's obviously a cycle!

Haha, too late to wish that!

Your state has already been completely invaded. You have huge real estate bubbles right now in St. George, Provo and Ogden, largely due to California migration.

Hey everyone, I just went and looked at the Lethal Weapon 3 pinball, and was not murdered. The seller actually lives a couple minutes from me, so it was easy to check out. He was in a bidding war with a few other guys for the pin in Lancaster when he got it, but he didn't say how much he paid. I didn't ask. To each their own.

He asked for 1800 which seemed like a pretty good deal, so I went to check it out. Problem is that it was heavily routed. The cabinet needs to be sanded down, wood filled into the lockbar holes and around the edges, and decals added. He was a pretty nice guy and offered to help me work on it to get it into shape. It needs a shop job on it, the usual with routed pins. It needs some items replaced, like new flipper bats, a target which he has, probably some more little things here and there. It's a route, so no LEDs of course. But had mylar in spots on the playfield that changed the ball movement, and I really don't like messing with mylar. I didn't go into too much detail after that. I wasn't tire kicking, but I was looking for a player's pin instead of a project. So I passed. I already have a Tommy project, and at the end of the day, I don't think LW3 would last long in my lineup.

Anyway, if any of you are looking for a below 2k pin in the LA area, then it seems like a pretty decent deal. And he's a really nice guy, so you can proceed with confidence.

The taller they are, the harder they fall. What's with all this highfalutin talk about going to see a pinball machine on offer up and bringing people to intimidate? Any bad person would drop you no matter the size or number of people.

#10450 2 years ago

The guy on Offer Up just said he'd take 1000 cash for the LW3 and that he needs money. I'm still not interested if any of you want to hit him up. Makes me a little nervous though.
