Quoted from CashMoney:

Question for the group. This will be my first NIB purchase. Do you guys wax the game before the first play?
Just curious on what everyone's viewpoint is.
Dan

You wouldn't wax a new car. Same for NIB pinball machines.

Or so I've heard.

Quoted from AUKraut:

Correct, and a piece of good news is that you can compensate for it in the settings where you can disable the raising disc functionality, effectively making it play like a Pro with a Marvel ramp while you wait for a replacement.

I'm feeling like this is something I will do anyway. You gain the speed/flow of a Pro, with the ramps/shots of a Premium. WIN!

I don't have it yet, so we'll see when I get to actually playing it.

Quoted from MUGEN_4_LIFE:

Anyone here heard from their distros on Premium arrival? I was told Oct. 9th back in September when I was told to pay in full and did so... just curious if anyone else who put their deposit in and then had been told to pay in full recieved their shipping info yet.... I'm excited to get this machine!
Hopefully stern fixes the shitty welds on the portal lock mechs, they should've come up with a better design as many folks have had two balls locked up top with one at the third position causing all sorts of issues, along with the spinning disc sensors being faulty.

I was told last week, to expect it in about 5 weeks in Canada. Mid-November to be safe. I think we typically get these a bit later than the US though, so take that for what it's worth.

Quoted from yancy:

The key to happiness is to order a game, don't ask when you're getting it, make no assumptions, don't nag the distributor, and be pleasantly surprised when you get the call.

Easy to say when you've got TWO.

But seriously, I agree. The only way to be disappointed is to set expectations.

Quoted from MT45:

Just got notified that toppers are in
$1,000 each. I’m out.
Holy Cow

Jesus Christ, where do they get off charging $1k USD for a large piece of plastic with some LEDs and *maybe* a motor (Don't know what this one does exactly).

Y'all got me thinking about abandoning ship on the AIQ Premium! I could always switch out to TMNT Pro or JP Pro as I've wanted both for a while now...

Honestly couldn't care less about the subway on AIQ and if it's giving no end of problems still, it might be worth the switch.

#2282 3 years ago
Quoted from pingod:

I got the call yesterday my premium was ready to pick up.
On my birthday as well
Snow day, so went and grabbed it.
Only one issue, needed to adjust the switch for the lock down button.
Game is perfect otherwise.
Fun game, great flow with the shots.

Did you order from Nitro or P1? I placed an order literally within 30 min of the announcement and I haven't heard anything about Premium here yet.

Quoted from Thunderbird:

Agree with you, crazy high prices. Stern should be ashamed of trying to take such advantage of us for $40 worth of material. Also, it’s not hard to “sell out” of anything when your allotment is only 2 or 3, which is what many of these distributors only buy. Think Stern has made themselves look greedy and bad with this high price decision. Black Knight and Munsters were $399 and look like a bargain now. Both those toppers are so much better than what AIQ or TMNT are offering at more than double the price.

The fact that I can purchase a PlayStation 5, and an RTX 3080 graphics card for the price of that plastic topper, should tell you everything about how outrageous that price is.

Fuck off STERN.

#2623 3 years ago
Quoted from Indusguys:

Good luck finding either one of those though, people are paying insanely high prices for the 30 series nvidia crap, and nobody I know is getting a PS5 anytime soon. At least with Stern you will get something before Xmas.

I’ve got two 3080’s and have two PS5’s on the way for Thursday (not scalping, second ones are for friends). If you know where and when to look, they’re certainly attainable!

Actually digging those figures on the right. Looks great.

Any Canadians that ordered from Nitro get their Premium/Pro's yet? I've seen a few from P1, but still haven't heard anything on the west coast here.

Anxiously awaiting a new pin for the holidays.

Quoted from Shapeshifter:

Just watched Raymond Davidson score over 7 billion on this game!
Super combos were amazing.
Presume it's going to get patched out?
Shame, I am thinking of buying the game, purely on the combos blowing up!

Is he playing on a Pro by choice, I wonder? Better for competitive play?

Well, it looks like those of us who haven't received Premiums yet are bound to wait until February 2021. As someone who ordered 10 minutes after the announcement, I am really disappointed, but I understand.

Quoted from Ericc123:

soulstoner Where did these post this?

I found it in the "Next Stern Pin" thread. It looks accurate based on what I've heard from a couple distro's and second hand information about expected deliveries of other pins like Deadpool (TDB).

Quoted from lockeness:

I have an LE. In the past few days, whenever the shaker motor goes off, at the end it makes a weird sound like a wheeze. I also recently updated to 0.94. I am assuming this is some sort of mechanical issue and not a sound effect that was added. Has anyone experienced something like this?

It's 100% your shaker motor just squeaking. You just need to grease it up a bit. Had the same issue with mine and it was driving me nuts.

#3627 3 years ago

What’s the consensus on Pro vs Premium these days? The captain marvel shot on the pro looks unsatisfying, but I haven’t tried it myself to say for certain.

Any pro owners regretting not opting up?

Quoted from Beez:

LOVE my new Avengers Topper that I put together today - looks even better at night with the light between the two. Love it - plus it only cost me around $20 bucks!

This looks fantastic. I’m also wondering what you used to pull this off.

Quoted from EaglePin:

Isn't every game repetitive? Pinball, video games, board games, card games. They're all repetitive, it's just a matter of whether or not you like a certain game and want to play it again.

Exactly. I don’t mind repetitive pinball gameplay because the act of shooting is super satisfying in any game.

Repetitive audio and sound effects, or effects that occur repeatedly and aren’t tied to any player controlled action is what irritates me the most.

Quoted from Wildbill327:

Not sure how AIQ can be classified as boring but I definitely enjoy it. I think AIQ is a better pin compared to DeadPool(owned DP pro for a few months)because of its deep code. DP is fun but it got old pretty quick because of the repetitive gameplay. As far as toys go what does DP have that’s considered a fun toy? I think DP has the better sound/art package between the two.

Lil' Deadpool bash toy is so much fun to hit.

Closing on a deal to trade Rick & Morty for Avengers: IQ Premium + Cash...

I've never played A:IQ. Currently own Deadpool Premium and it's my favourite machine out of all that I've had (IMDN, TMNT, JP, R&M).

Anyone in here that's played both give an honest opinion on this being a worthwhile trade?
