In addition to the shaker, adding the Pinwoofer GT superkit really brings this game to life. The booming audio's added punch during multiball and vibrations to the cabinet (from the speaker as well as the shaker) immerses you into the gameplay. So far, those are the best mods I've added. Highly recommended.

That's cool for a budget way to go. However, the external AMP really opens the speakers up a lot more than the built-in stern spike version. I tried that when I had my IMDN and was limited in the amount of bass from the cabinet and output I could get from the BB speakers before the audio started to crack. Having said that, I do like my audio cranked more that the average player, so my demands are greater than normal.
My upper flipper started sticking sporadically over the weekend and would unstick after activating another coil. I popped the hood and found a bunch of that black "magic dust" on the cabinet underneath it. I pulled the stop and found it and the plunger head slightly melted. The game has under 50 plays. Crazy.
Anyway, I replaced the stop and the sleeve and cleaned everything up, and I'm back to working again. I'm also making the gauntlet ramp from that flipper with ease now.
I've had 4-5 NIB Sterns over the years, but this is a new one for me. I mean, I've seen this on some older games with a ton of play, but never on a brand new one.

The rubberbands are probably a better solution for his wife (or anyone else struggling). You can put it on 5 ball sure, however, you're still unlikely to ever win a gem, since you lose it as soon as the ball drains. Of course you can always just "play better", but if it was that simple, wouldn't everyone just "play better"?
I read someone else suggest this here already, but I would love to see Soul Gem and Black Order randomized. Since I get to the Soul Gem mode on most games and Black Order rarely, it would be a nice change. Soul Gem loses its cool factor after playing it every game. This would be an easy fix that, too me, would keep the Soul Gem mode fresh (for us mortals).

I've had the Pinwoofer setup in mine for a while now and have never noticed this issue.
