Just bought an AIQ and found this in the bottom - any idea what this is from? It looks like it sheared off of something.

Quoted from Sleal16:

Might be from the subway teeth mech

Quoted from awesome1:

If it's an AIQ Premium, I think Sleal16 is correct.
Distributor or Stern should be able to help with replacement, I believe some people have used a bolt in the meantime or you can disable the subway in the settings.

Yep, found it - thanks guys. I may see if JBWeld will hold it until I get a replacement.

Quoted from C0untDeM0net:

I've got about 400 games on my premium and I found what looked like a bit of clearcoat and some artwork on it floating around the playfield. After searching everywhere I finally found the chip behind the rail leading into the antman scoop. It's a pretty large loss of clear and artwork but it's all under the plastics at the moment. Gonna send stern an email about it and have sent Cliff an email looking to get the protector for that spot but wow. There is no sign of pooling anywhere on the playfield. It was perfect but for this
[quoted image]

That’s similar to what happens on the Deadpool Katana ramp. You might be able to use the cliffy designed for that application.

For those that haven’t had extensive damage yet, a small washer will prevent the ramp edge from digging. Here is my Deadpool Katana ramp after washer addition:

Quoted from awesome1:

It's most likely the piece that joins the coil plunger to the mechanism... I don't think any of the studs actually go through the cutouts in the plate for whatever reason.
[quoted image][quoted image]

It was the second stud tooth:

I tapped it back in and put a glob of JBWeld on each of those spot welds. They seem like they could be fragile as this happened in less than 200 plays.

Thanks for the help figuring out where to look.

Quoted from awesome1:

Interesting, haven't seen anyone else have one of those break. Hope the JB weld gets you playing until you can get a replacement!

I’ve got a replacement ordered but I’ll probably never have to use it - JBWeld is amazing stuff. I put it back in the game and ran the subway test several times and it works like a charm.

It’s not super easy to see the balls in the subway though - I saw the mirror idea, but has anyone tried some dim illumination in there?

#8887 2 years ago
Quoted from awesome1:

Great! I've had some good success with JBWeld in some cases as well.
Not sure if it's along the lines of what you are looking for, but I did add a second set of (3) RGB lights in the subway. Drilled holes and mounted a LED below each original and then piggy backed the wiring. I like it, it definitely added a lot more color and brightness.
It's hard to get a good pic of it, but this is a still from one of my gameplay videos.

Yes! That’s exactly what I meant. That looks great and super clean installation too - nicely done! Next time I have it off I’ll do something similar. Thank you for the pics!

Quoted from Bundy:

Maybe something to whish for as a Christmas present if you like Lego and AIQ

Another cool gift idea, but probably a long lead time for delivery:

Quoted from SirSnarf:

Figured I'd show off the gauntlet mod my girlfriend put together since it was so popular on Facebook, making a small batch for some other folks around the globe even some all the way down under! Let me know what you guys think
[quoted image]

Thank you SirSnarf for the awesome detailing on my AIQ Gauntlet! It looks incredible!!!

Quoted from Sleal16:

Neat! Was this a replacement, or added components + paint to your original one?

Added components and paint to the original.

Quoted from marioparty34:

Nice! How long did you have to wait? I am seriously considering it.

About one week from when he received it.
