Quoted from mskoenen:

Nothing is set in stone, but we might be bringing a Black Rose, F14, Funhouse, Heavy Metal Meltdown, or Rocky & Bullwinkle. Or some combination of those.

Please bring the Black Rose! It's the one of the very few titles we don't have at the VFW.

Thanks,
Eric V.

Quoted from amkoepfer:

Debating bringing a game, but it wont be for sale if i do, do you get free entry? (Game would probably be gladiators, id bring class of 1812 since its a rare game, but i need to fully go through it forst so maybe next year)

Yes, please bring either title. We don't have a Gladiators or a Class of 1812. (My vote goes for 1812, as I've never even seen one).

From the website page;
http://vfwpinball.com/?p=128

"Can you bring a game to the showcase?

Yes! Bring a game to the Ann Arbor VFW pinball showcase is welcome – we encourage people to bring games to the show! If you want to bring a game you’re proud to show it off, or if you’re trading or selling to a friend and want a place to meet, that would be great. Doors to the hall are at ground level and within 20 feet of a drop off area, and we have many pinball carts available to borrow. We will have a dedicated area set aside for visiting pinball machines. And you have complete control of your game, when it comes, and when it leaves. If you are bring a game title which we don’t already have, you get FREE show admission. Our goal is to showcase our collector quality games and any quality machines that the pinball public wants to bring. Also you can bring your game to the show anytime. That is, bring it a week before (you’re not forced into bring it only on “set up day.”) Same goes for pickup… If you can’t pick up your game for a few days after the show, no problem. We’re trying to make this whole process very easy! In addition, we will fix your machine if it breaks (assuming you give us the key), and we’ll even clean your game before you pick it up. No other show offers these incentives!"

Looking forward to seeing you at the show!

Thanks,
Eric V.

Quoted from amkoepfer:

Well then it should be! Is the stargate still at vfw? Freddy? Get a gew more system 3s and can have a system 3 championship!

Yep, we've got a nicer example of Stargate now, and our Freddy was a rare HUO find. The only other System3 we have is Cue Ball Wizard (well, we have Strikes N Spares, but that's more of a bowler than a pin).

A full list of all the games we have on site can be found here;

Anyone want to bring a Capcom Kingpin?

Quoted from TheLaw:

I don't remember seeing that motto anywhere at the VFW

No, the true unofficial motto of the VFW was not fit to print on the T-shirts.

For pinball, make sure to hit up Pinball Pete's in Ann Arbor. They have most of the recent Sterns in LE form.

For culture, a great place to visit is the Henry Ford Museum (especially if you're a car guy);

Hey all,

24 hours and counting (less if you're in the EM tournament)!!!

One point of note for everyone:

Please bring a print-out of your PayPal receipt (or have it on your phone), as well as ID. We'll have everyone's name and email that you paid with on a list at the door, but just in case there's an error, it's always helpful to have the copy of your receipt as proof of entry.

For those folks who are buying and selling show tickets secondarily, please send us an email at [email protected] so that we have the correct names at the door.

See everyone this weekend!

Thanks,
Eric V.

Hi all,

so, after 22 hours (or more for you crazy campers) of flippin' and fixin', the 2016 VFW-AAPM Showcase is now in the books.

We had a bunch of people come visit us this weekend, and it was awesome to see the smiles and happiness of everyone who walked through our doors. We are very grateful to you all. Your contributions allow us to keep those doors open and the lights on, so that we can maintain and preserve our little corner of history. We're so glad that everyone came and had a good time.

I would also like to personally thank all of our awesome Orange Shirt (and now Red Shirt Tech) volunteers. There's absolutely NO way this show could happen without them. They should all be taking a well-deserved rest right now.

Also, a big thanks to our vendors, like Abel Electronics (http://www.abelelectronics.com/jjpinball.pdf) and Game Room Guys (http://www.gameroomguys.com) for supplying the Hobbit and newer Sterns out in our Annex. They were a huge hit.

Finally, a big hand of course to our owner Clay Harrell. Without his dedication to pinball and preservation efforts over the past decades, the VFW-AAPM wouldn't even exist in the first place. (He also worked like a banshee to keep games running this weekend).

--------

We had several folks already asking about tickets and schedule for next year. Don't worry, we're already planning on Showcase 2017. Best way to keep abreast of details is to check our website at www.vfwpinball.com, or follow us on Facebook at http://Facebook.com/vfwpinball

Also, there are a few of the official 2016 show shirts left, so if you'd like to pick one up, please head over to this thread for details;
https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/vfw-aapm-2016-showcaseofficial-t-shirts#post-3152363

Once again, a gigantic THANK YOU to all!!!!!

Hope to see you next year,
Eric V.

Glad at least someone out there was warm.

For those that missed it, we had SNOW flying on Sunday morning at the VFW-AAPM.
