Well, after thinking about it and participating the last couple of years, I decided to take a break this year and not participate in the Secret Santa exchange. Oddly enough, when I arrived home today there was a package on my porch addressed from Pinside Secret Santa. I PM'd LesManley thinking there was a mistake, and somehow my name wasn't taken off the list. However, he confirmed that I wasn't on the list nor was the address that my package came from.

Thinking it must be intentional, I opened the box and found a few treats and these really cool laser cut vinyl records made to hang on the wall (Elvis, RUSH, and Metallica). I'm still baffled who may have done this, but I wanted to say thank you for such a cool original gift and for including me.

Very cool to see all these unique items landing! Mine was received and it brings me joy. I'm anxiously awaiting and excited to see what my Santa has in store.

Should hopefully be sending out my package this week, waiting on one last item that was supposed to arrive a week plus ago.

I just got my Santa package today and we decided to open it. The wife got into a car accident and she needed some Christmas cheer

I came home today to find a package from my secret santa, I'll be opening it in a few days when I've gotten my Christmas tree up. I'm looking forward to finding out what's in the box.

Whaaaaat, I got another package this morning! I didn't recognize the sender name on the label -- so figured it might've been something random I'd ordered recently ...

Now the dilemma -- this one doesn't explicitly say to wait for Christmas but the other package does...... I should probably hold off on these too then.

I didn't see/hear any rustling in here, so there's either no chinchilla or dead chinchilla, so either way I guess it can wait. If it starts to smell then I'll open early. lol

Received my secret Santa gift today ... a box of fun Mezel Mods for my BSD! Thanks, Santa! This is the perfect kind of secret Santa gift in my opinion ... things that I probably wouldn't have purchased for myself, but now that I have them I am excited to put them into my game Thanks again!

My SS was kind enough to notice my mentioned comments about missing a lock down bar on a Comet and made the effort to solve this issue for me.
Most importantly this Comet was actually a gift from a dearest friend, now it has a brand new lock down bar which is also a gift from a dearest Pinsider. ... and so every time I will look at it I will know that there are a lot of thoughtful people out there...my 4 years old son will also know because this is his favourite pin so far.
Protection ring will also come very handy with all these projects that comes and goes, rubbers too.

Got my Santa gift today, thank you! My address was written on an envelope that was taped to the box, which is a clever way to do it. The envelope said "stickers inside" so while I'm not opening the box yet, I did open the envelope. I LOVE the World's okayest pinball player" - that's definitely me! . For now I'm putting the box under the tree. Not sure if I'll open it early or not... on one hand, I never get any surprise gifts for Christmas. On the other hand, I have no patience. So we will see what wins out.

To all of you people, and you know who you are, that can wait until Christmas to open your SS gifts, kudos to you! I personally do not have that kind of willpower. In fact, I honestly don't know how you do it. Personally, I would open up the package while it's still cold from sitting out on the porch here in Minnesota. I do this because I enjoy the giving, and the unveiling, unfortunately for me all three years I've participated my SS has chosen to wait until Christmas to open their package. Sucks for me, but maybe I can learn patience through their practice...or, if you're on the fence about opening the gift you received go ahead and do it, it's not a selfish act, think of the person that sent it to you. You have to know they're waiting on pins and needles for you to open that gift. Stop being selfish and open those presents dammit! Just kidding, you have to do you and I get that. Merry Christmas everyone!

I feel the same as you. This is why I start listening to Christmas music on Nov 1. I love the season, the spirit and the reason. I like to post my gift on this thread as soon as i can so my sender can see that I enjoy it and appreciate it.

That is a nice touch, giving me ideas for next year. If you see this on your porch you know right away it's not a random Amazon package. It's the subtle details that keeps this fun.

Ok, Apinjunkie made me reconsider my stance, so I'm splitting the difference. My wife opened the box and saw some were wrapped, some were not and told me I should look through the box.

My family wanted me to open everything but I'm keeping two of the wrapped gifts for Christmas...

Here's the stuff I did open (or wasn't wrapped), and I love it all! I'm not sure if my Santa knew I love trying new food or not (we've had a subscription to Universal Yums for two years!), but I do love it! Here we have some local beef jerky (yum!) and some "secret seasoning" from the same place, Lee's Market. There's also a couple of bags of chips - one says "skin on," which are how I like my mashed potatoes so can't wait to try them! There's also a box of mini Vernor's ginger soda that sounds good, didn't know you could ship that in the middle of winter! My daughter was especially excited about this. There was a jar of chocolate dessert topping wrapped up well to protect it - I just finished a jar of Grown Up KidsStuff which looks to be similar so can't wait to see how it compares. Finally, there was a tshirt that looks cool - but I'm not quite sure what the design means. Maybe Pinside can help me out? My daughter's been eyeing it so might try to steal it and use it as a night shirt... we will see!

Thanks, Santa! This is a great blend of stuff to tide me open until I open the last two gifts. Hopefully you don't mind me waiting for the two boxes!

Edit: I forgot to mention the very cool looking card! And unlike those who have a Secret Santa, mine was signed "undisclosed Santa," which made me chuckle when I read it.
