Quoted from shlt_thunder:

Don't get too excited. Pittsburg had the same idea and look what happened to Vegas with MAF.

Little different situation as the Penguins did not want to let Fleury go. The biggest issue was that MAF was going to be taken in the Expansion draft as the Penguins made the decision it was best to protect Murray (younger and coming off two Cup wins). Obviously that was a bad decision but if the Penguins didn't trade MAF they would've lost him anyhow and got nothing in return.

#12 2 years ago

So when is the 2021-22 schedule coming out? I need 2-4 tickets to the Pens game in Toronto.

#20 2 years ago
Quoted from cdnpinbacon:

Imagine being a Leafs fan.

Quoted from TheLaw:

I don't have to imagine, everyone I know is a Lions fan!!

You guys ever hear of the Pirates?

#23 2 years ago
Quoted from TheLaw:

No...and those WERE THE GOOD DAYS!!!

Yeah what a shit show. Great city, fans, & stadium...and they just don't give a shit. They need to force a owner firing.

Hey they're one of the best minor league teams in the majors!

Lemieux actually tried to buy them several years back. Pirates owner balked (get it) at the idea.

#25 2 years ago

Ottawa fans you have to be pissed. Anyone that hires Pierre McGuire is showing that they have no desire to win.

#30 2 years ago

With Pierre out, how will I know what University every player went too. The only thing he ever added to a game! Always wondered if it was in his contract that he was the only one allowed to mention what University a player went too.

Poor Taylor Hall....feel sorry for the kid. I like him as a person /player ...sucks he bounces around.

The black cloud just follows this guy!

Quoted from cdnpinbacon:

I’m in! Have the Shelley express (wife) to take me home.

It’s all in luch’s hands to make it happen. No pressure.

If he doesn’t come through for us join me over at the “Luch promised me tickets to a Leaf’s game and screwed me” thread!!

Quoted from OldHockeyGuy:

Being from DC area, my concern is the Caps growing too old,

Yeah the CAPS and PENS are growing old together. We're the Red Wings of tomorrow but tomorrow is coming quick!

Agree. I use to defend Bettman due to him locking the players out. It was a great move on his part as hockey was going to follow the same path as baseball. The Winter Classic, another great move on his part. But Bettman, as good as he is from a financial perspective he's horrible when it comes to making decision for the game itself. (ok I am rambling now)

Quoted from hwyhed:

..where’s the respect?

It came over the last 3 years in the form of 21 million dollars.

Quoted from cdnpinbacon:

Its all business now Hue .

This

#103 2 years ago
Quoted from ImNotNorm:

My concern is teams giving calibre players away. It shreds the league's credibility.
You can't call that business. Or good for business.

Watch ....

According to Vegas GM there were several talks with Fleury about what was going on. He also advises as to how they had a "Trade call scheduled" but the info was leaked out on Twitter prior to the call taking place.

So it's not as bad as the media/people are making it out to be. But since drama sells ......

#105 2 years ago
Quoted from OldHockeyGuy:

meSz Helpful post. There were some communications, but this was a face-saving press pr blurb after they messed up on not making the final call to him. He is a big boy and has made plenty of money, but still having your star depart in this fashion is at least tacky. As I recall, VGK were not particularly smooth in the Gallant firing. As noted earlier, this has all the fingerprints of George McPhee's cavalier managing style.

Understood! I guess I am immune to this as the company I work for, employees usually find out about job cuts via the media before the company makes an announcement. Doesn't make it right, just makes it normal for me!

#122 2 years ago
Quoted from ImNotNorm:

My thoughts are Bettman will do his best to sweep this under the rug.

Like ALL sports these days, no one cares what an athlete does off the “field”. As long as they produce on the field all is forgotten!

My favorite all time is Ray Lewis. The guy plea bargained out of a murder trial and the NFL made him their poster boy a year later!

#124 2 years ago
Quoted from ImNotNorm:

You mean Ray Lewis right? I remember that.
I think the times are changing though. Imagine how some of the Sharks players are feeling hearing about this.
The Jets threw his gear and clothing in the shower as a polite way to tell him to fuck off.
I wonder what some of the Sharks players are going to do/say to him.

Yes (corrected post) Ray Lewis!

Quoted from OldHockeyGuy:

We have Bobby Orr's Power Play, #Olympic Hockey, and#IceFever, is it too much to ask that we get a game for Wayne Gretzky (beyond rod hockey) and Alex Ovechkin?

As much as I’d love to see a hockey machine I would think having a game themed after a single player would be a bad idea for sales IMO.

With technology today how difficult would it be to make a hockey game where you could go into the settings and change the theme to your team of choice? Think bout the Stern NFL machines but instead of different back glasses you have an lcd, go into menu select your team of choice and the logo or whatever of that team is shown.

Could also get the broadcasters for teams to do the call outs and that is played along with your team selection.

Just a thought that will never happen.

https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/pinball-toast-apparition
So I made it my avatar instead.

I thought you were signifying Edmonton's season!

#162 2 years ago
Quoted from ImNotNorm:

Hahaha yea they are probably toast again this year.
Is it odd that, although I live in Edmonton, I get some enjoyment watching them lose?

Not at all, it's called accepting the fact your team sucks!

Being from Pittsburgh, I went through the same thing for few decades with the Penguins and let's not even talk about our minor league baseball team the Pirates!

#168 2 years ago
Quoted from Blitzburgh99:

Crosby out 6 weeks with wrist surgery
Malkin out indefinitely with knee
Letang pulled his vagina and return uncertain

Where you reading this info? I see ....
Crosby - Expected to be out until at least Oct 23
Malkin - Questionable for start of season (this is a shame as Malkin really only shines anymore when Crosby is out)
LeTang - As much as I criticized him the past several years I thought LeTang played pretty well second half of the season. Being his last year on his contract I'd expect a big year for him. He recently advised the Penguins he has no desire to go elsewhere.

Quoted from ImNotNorm:

The BlueJackets have un-invited Zac Rinaldo to their training camp for this season. The reason? He refuses to get vaccinated.

At 31 years old he should've just retired but no one would care. This way he gets his name in the news once again and for the last time!

In other NHL News.....I received an email about the special on Amazon Prime Video - All Or Nothing: Toronto Maple Leafs
https://www.primevideo.com/detail/amzn1.dv.gti.00b38ef3-3070-456d-8ec8-362aa4c4289a

Since it's the Leafs it's a safe bet to say it will be NOTHING!

#179 2 years ago
Quoted from cdnpinbacon:

Malkin out aprox 2 months as of today

That just means he misses out on 6 weeks with Crosby being out. My prediction, this will be Malkin lowest pts per game season.

If I’m wrong I’ll come back and edit this post!

#202 2 years ago

4-1 habs over leafs……too soon to call the leafs season or do u wait till the next pre season game????

Seriously I could see a team that doesn't have great attendance charging more for concessions so they can makeup for lost ticket sales. BUT the Leafs, correct me if I am wrong, have a long waiting list for tickets? At 18$ per beer they should give you Vaseline on the side!

#301 2 years ago

and when you see goals like the second one that Carolina just scored on the Leafs..... beer should be free!

#333 2 years ago
Quoted from Blitzburgh99:

I don’t think getting crosby and Malkin back is gonna make a difference with these pens....it’s been a helluva run. Looking forward to them going bankrupt again in a few years and threatening to leave the ‘burgh ..only to get another number one draft pick phenom who will once more save the Penguins and keep them in town. That seems to be the cycle for the franchise.

What happened to you? You're the one that gave me Scheisse about saying the same thing the past few years!!!!!!

Keep in mind that the Pens are without Crosby, Malkin, Dumoulin and they just got back LeTang and Rust. Pettersson has also just cleared Covid.

Pens only have 3 reg loses (man I hate the way the NHL does this) and are 8 points out of first.

Drink!

Penguins sold to Fenway Sports Group. Probably not good news if you’re a Season Ticket Holder

#385 2 years ago
Quoted from hwyhed:

At least the habs made a move, and got an experienced president/gm. My owners, the Aquilini’s haven’t pulled the plug on Benning & coach Green yet. There’s some talent on this team, but they’re grossly underachieving. And, the pk is historically bad/fn brutal

Penguins aren't there yet (hey we have the best pk in the league) but are 2 years away from being the cellar team. In Pittsburgh it seems to be the same story for the Penguins and Steelers, try to continue to win with aging star players while making no acquisitions for the future.

Five years ago the Penguins had one of the top teams in the league as well as in the minors, today not so.

(before anyone mentions the Pirates, keep in mind we're talking about professional sports and not minor league teams)

#391 2 years ago

Pens have more SOG or turnovers?

#394 2 years ago

Nope, I live in CA now 90% of the time.

As for “fancy booze” I assume you’re speaking of the Blanton’s Reserve (green label)? It’s not fancy per se it’s regular bourbon but the Reserve is made specifically for Canada and, I believe, Australia.

Mike Yeo taking over in Philly! Always liked Yeo just hasn't found the right team yet. Unfortunately today you're not allowed to yell or discipline players that make millions so I expect him not to last long in Philly before the likes of Giroux and Couturier start complaining.

#435 2 years ago
Quoted from poppapin:

Especially if they continue playing like last night. Holy shit, I took out the trash at 10min of 1st period, it was tied 1-1, came in 5 min later it was 4-1 Avs. WTF

Yeah but 5 min after that it was 4-3. Flyers scored 5 goals and still lost the game. Too many asinine penalties.

#462 2 years ago
Quoted from ImNotNorm:

Called it! Just call the game already. No need for the remaining 2 periods.

Could be 3-1 leaf’s with 30 seconds left in the game and they could still lose.

#477 2 years ago
To be honest I don't listen or watch the talking heads anymore. (ESPN, TSN, Sportsnet, etc)
I just tune into the game. Mute the TV between periods and ignore all the analysis and prognostications pre and post game.
Too many hot takes for the purpose of ratings.

It's not even a matter of listening. The thing that gets me is the NHL was making an ordeal out of going back to ESPN. ESPN is televising very few games here in the States and when they do it's only games at 10pm (West coast) games. Stephen A. Smith is ESPNs biggest name and he does not talk hockey whatsoever on his show.

NBC Sports use to have Two for Tuesday (game at 7 and 10PM) and Wednesday Rivalry where they showcased some of the bigger matchups in primetime. ESPN shows Wrestling in primetime!

I am with ya on the not listening to all the banter. I have a stream service that broadcast in HD/4K and when the broadcast goes to commercial or in between periods I just see a screen with the NHL logo and the words "commercial break".

#481 2 years ago

Being reported that NHL will be suspending the season. Also, pulling out of the Olympics is more than likely.

#484 2 years ago
Quoted from Jmckune:

Where are you seeing the NHL season will be suspended? I see they are considering withdrawing from Olympics but according to Chicago’s the Athletic, NHL season is not yet under consideration for any postponement
[quoted image]

Actually saw it on TSN late last night. They stated that the Olympics were not going to happen especially with the latest announcement that anyone that test positive for CoVID while at the Olympics will be required to remain in the country for 5 weeks. TSN then went on to say the NHL held meeting late yesterday to discuss suspending the season if the cases continue to rise.

#500 2 years ago
Quoted from ImNotNorm:

NHL season has been "paused" from Dec 22-26th.

Technically 22-23 as there were no games scheduled for the 24-26th to begin with. But, this is only the beginning.

#550 2 years ago

Good to see Malkin prove Blitz and I wrong! First game back and he comes up with 3 points on the night. His line had all 4 goals. It's only one game but he looked strong in skating and all especially for an ACL surgery.

#571 2 years ago
Quoted from TheLaw:

If Jarry keeps playing like that I believe

This is one position that is a concern for the Pens as if Jarry doesn't play they don't have a backup. DeSmith with a 3.47 GAA in 8 games is rough. Would still like to see the Pens get a big Defensive Defenseman but overall the team they have is solid.

Blitz you may not want to read this next part ..... LeTang have been playing solid. He'll always have his LeTank moments on D but I think he's been solid and playing his best hockey since his surgery!

#584 2 years ago

Pens played 1 good period tonight and collapsed. Malkin had a tough game. He turned the puck over 3 times on one PP for which 2 led to breakaways.

Need to revise my concern list, an improved PP is needed more than anything. The pens work hard and move the puck when even strength. They get a PP and literally stand in one place then try to pass the puck across the rink.

#588 2 years ago
Quoted from Blitzburgh99:

See…there’s where you err’d… I agree, Letang is having a great season with Rierden. But you can’t mention it or acknowledge it out loud. Did you see him and Dumoulin get schooled last night to make the game 4-2 off the faceoff 10 seconds after going down 3-2?
PS… Geno is fully back with the dumb penalty
[quoted image][quoted image]

Yeah LeTank had a bad game, agree!

Malkin was just unreal. On that one PP that he gave the puck away 3 times..it was literally the same play where he tried to pass the puck from one side of the ice to the other through two of the Kings players. 2 of the 3 he didn't even put anything behind the passes and lobbed the puck. Easily picked off by the Kings.

So Evanser Kane says all the right things but teammates want him gone from multiple teams???
Hopefully this guy matures..this is his Last chance

No it's not. Just like Antonio Brown will be picked up by another team once things simmer down. Kane and Brown both are good players with long history of issues but if a team can sign them for less money they will.

People tend to forget about a players personal stuff as long as the put up good numbers. I always go back to Ray Lewis (as stated before), this guy plead bargained out of murder charges and the NFL made him their MVP poster boy

Unfortunately for you Rutherford looks at 30 year old players as young kids these days. He loves getting players he once had back under him. And when it doesn't pan out he'll just quit and blame the players.

OK so onto positive news......did I mention Malkin has Covid

I never understood the Division/Conference name changes. I always though some day they would change but it would be due to companied paying to have their name associated with it (i.e. Labatt Division, Budweiser Division would be under the Tampex Conference). and wtf is the "Metropolitan" division anyhow???

OK luch or anyone .... betting time! I say Marchand gets 2 games or less (I feel he'll just get a fine). $10 bet with winnings to Pinside under winners name! For me, a sucker punch and blatant high stick to the throat/face, the NHL will see no issue with it. Especially with no injury!

Quoted from ImNotNorm:

I drove through the island of Montreal in July and have no desire to return.

I wouldn't go that far! One thing I've learned through the years is, every town/city/state/country has it's pros and cons. Once you've lived it a place for so long things become common nature. You grow not to appreciate them as you see it every day!

I've been to Toronto, Quebec, Sheerwood, Saint-Georges and a few others ... all had some great qualities to them, Tried to go to Calgary next month but all the restrictions we had to bail on the trip.

#754 2 years ago
Quoted from Quicksilver1:

Acting aside, how the hell does Crosby, (or the entire Pens line on the ice for that matter) let Jarry get suckered and not do a thing about it? A captain like Landeskog would have fed Marchand his own teeth.

Ironically this was a newspaper story today in Pittsburgh. I've been saying this for years. The Pens have NO ONE to "answer the bell". Almost all of them walk away when stuff like this happens and teams know this. When the Pens get into the playoffs all you have to do is take runs at the better players and no one does anything EXCEPT Crosby and Malkin, the two players you don't want getting involved.

Watching that video again and the only Pens player doing anything was LeTang. Guentzel went over and said something for which Marchand responded "what are you going to do" ... absolutely nothing!

Penguins are 23rd in size in the NHL but they have some big boys that do absolutely nothing when it comes to roughness.

#757 2 years ago
Quoted from jumpyg1258:

The last time the Pens tried to beef up their lineup was the season after winning 2 cups. Strength has never won them cups, speed and skill has. As a Pens fan I'd rather have them concentrate on getting wins than gooning it up.

Not looking to "goon it up". Looking for someone to stand up when someone takes runs at the star players. Last few seasons all the other teams did in the playoffs was take runs at Malkin, Crosby, Guentzel and the only players willing to get physical was Malkin and Crosby. All others skated away.

Once you get physical with Malkin he's useless. He starts to take dump penalties. Rather have a player like a Reaves (just an example) doing the physical stuff and in the box as opposed to the likes of Malkin or Crosby!

#762 2 years ago
Quoted from Blitzburgh99:

Pens have never had a goon.

Dave Schultz
Jay Caufield
Georges Laraque
Eric Godard
Francois Leroux
Arron Asham

Just a few off the top of my head. None of the guys above were acquired by the pens for their goal scoring, play making or even bench warming capabilities!

Really? Are all NHL games in Canada that way?

It seems Canada has followed this pattern .... (seriously)

No fans at all (new strain is announced) They just came out of this last week I believe
500 fans for a bit
2500-5000 fans for aa bit
Full occupancy
New strain announced revert back to 0

This was the WHOLE reason there was a protest in Canada (bacon organized it) as season ticket holders had enough!

You spelled PENALTIES wrong . The official let the first two (LeTang emblishing the "punch" to the head and the crosscheck) but after the slash the ref had enough. Don't forget the roughing call as well!

Trocheck could've been called for roughing. I think this is where people are so tired of the NHL officiating. In an OT situation you don't call Trocheck's penalty but the several by LeTang you can't let go. Most common is that the official calls, one of, LeTang's penalties but also even it up by calling Trocheck as well. This, obviously, didn't happen last night.

#1488 1 year ago

Seeing the "collision" with Smith last night and Binnington few nights ago makes me think bout changing the rule for hitting the goaltender. I say bring it back! My thought has always been, once I goalie leaves the crease he becomes a player. I know the rule was implemented to reduce the risk of a goalie becoming injured but if you want that to happen tell your goalie not to play the puck! You keep the rule(s) in tact for contact with a goalie when he's inside his crease but when he comes out of it to play the puck he becomes a player thus fair game (get rid of the asinine trapezoid area).

and GM from the West Coast

#1490 1 year ago

Valid points but if a goalie is out of his crease and someone hits him it becomes interference if he's not playing the puck. I am speaking more as to when a goalie is coming out to play the actual puck from on offensive perspective.

Not saying one way is right or wrong, just conversation! Had a lot of time to think about it during the Rangers/Canes game!

Yeah. Don’t care about either team. But was a horrible call. Puck was going in the goal anyway. Was not redirected and there was no kicking motion. No matter. Neither team had any chance to hoist the cup.

I dont care either, well I do as now we're stuck with the Rangers/Canes series, but looking at the replay several times it appears the puck bounces, just before it was KICKED in, and start to go more parallel to the goal line. Not saying it wouldn't have gone in on its own but that it may have not gone in right away giving the Oilers D, who was right behind the Flames player, time to save it from going in.

All out offense on this game thus far ....... "and loving it"

#1782 1 year ago

Man Smith is just letting a lot of soft goals. I know that was a hard shot but the goals he has let in, in the playoffs, have been questionable!

How is that on sides ????

#1790 1 year ago

Everything I pretend to know about hockey is turned upside down with that call!

#1798 1 year ago

GOOD NIGHT MR. SMITH

#1801 1 year ago

I cant see this series past 5 games. Just no D whatsoever on the Oilers side. Smith has been pulled in more games then vic has jinxed games!

#1804 1 year ago

So when was the ALL STAR Game moved to May 31st?

#1813 1 year ago

what a nice goal setup for Nugent

#1817 1 year ago

Im still trying to understand that no offside call? I couldn't hear the intermission so did they explain as to why it wasnt?

#1821 1 year ago
Quoted from ImNotNorm:

Even former NHL ref Don Koharski said it would be called back during the review.

Yeah I heard that and that's when I thought I was wrong

Not sure if anyone has this info but I would love to know what Koharski's record is with making these calls. From what I have seen of him he's wrong more then he's right. Now saying he's bad, just shows how much that judgment calling hockey refereeing is!

Go Rangers!

Quoted from finnflash:

That game will have good goaltending, so I doubt we have a barn burner. Unless Tampa explodes tonight.

Quoted from cdnpinbacon:

I like watching shesterkin ...FN Rangers.. move on from Hank to Shesterkin, Must be nice

He finished 15th in goaltending this year and with Tampa being the 8th overall team in goal scoring .... I dont see it low scoring at all, at least from Tampa's perspective.

Quoted from cdnpinbacon:

if you play sports betting

Thinking last nights game how the NHL and all of sports, at least here in the States, spent the last two decades distancing themselves from betting and now it's like every third commercial is about betting!

#1830 1 year ago
Quoted from hwyhed:

I’m going w a 4-3 bolts victory tonight..

I'm going with the fact that Shesterkin doesn't finish the game!

#1833 1 year ago
Quoted from cdnpinbacon:

Idk Mesz...I do think the Rangers may get stomped overall

If the Rangers win it will be like the old Devils where they play that trap (boring) style hockey. Hoping this isn't the case as prefer to watch a good game. Thus far the first two rounds the Rangers were in weren't really exciting games to watch (yeah I am including the Pens).

#1837 1 year ago
Quoted from hwyhed:

I can still appreciate a low scoring game..a shot/deflection can turn the game around. But I prefer a good old shootout, like last nights game. Any word about Kuemper and his injury?

Oh so can I just not one where a team plays the trap the whole game.

Quoted from cdnpinbacon:

Over under on Avs shots..40?

Im thinking under so you may want to go with over!

#1843 1 year ago
Quoted from meSz:

Im still trying to understand that no offside call?

Quoted from cdnpinbacon:

and another offside

"The explanation for the decision essentially boils down to the fact that Makar was not in possession of the puck at the time his teammate (Valeri Nichushkin) tagged up to get back onside. The video review argued that Makar pushed the puck over the blue line from the neutral zone, then didn’t touch it again until his player was onside. Once everyone was, Makar was free to play the puck again and score the goal."

#1857 1 year ago
Quoted from wolverinetuner:

Maybe it’s not high sticking if you let go of the stick just before it reaches the opponent’s face because you weren’t in possession of the stick at the moment of contact.

well technically if let go of the stick then you failed to maintain control over your stick so it's still a penalty.

Igor should get a diving call, Amazing how he was so hurt till no one paid attention and he gets up! By rule a hit to the head should result in him leaving the ice

#1872 1 year ago

Congrats to the Rangers on showing up and playing a good game. Maybe 5 or so minutes they looked blah but outside of that they played hard.

#1878 1 year ago

Announcers makin a big to do about how Kadri has so many more points in the playoffs with Colorado then his entire time with the Leafs. Maybe that's due to the fact he was suspended more then he played when he was with the Leafs???? MAYBE?

#1884 1 year ago

Get the hook out ...... Smith is gone

#1889 1 year ago
Quoted from wolverinetuner:

Oilers passing looking for the perfect PP shot. They just need to shoot the puck!

It’s called the Penguins effect!

MAYBE the Oilers win one at home but can’t see this series going past 5 games.

No means another 50 year before a leafs cup!

Man Tampa just bad on that 4on3. Can’t pass or posses the puck.

#1928 1 year ago

Welp the good news is, there won’t be a lag between the semis and final round. Finals should start Thursday at the latest.

#1930 1 year ago

To Rangers credit, they’re just playing harder. Tampa still playing like hey we’re better and we’ll win (aka Penguins mentality)

#1935 1 year ago
Quoted from cdnpinbacon:

Who scouted Sheshterkin? ..big raise

agree, if he doesn’t incur that rookie jinx where he just fails in the finals.

Tied up

Tampa with a stay of execution.

If the Oilers lose tonight they will not of won a single playoff game since I purchased the hat.

You still have the receipt? Maybe you can hurry up and return it before tonight's game!

Just saw my neighbour outside between periods. He said, "fuck these clowns, they mailed it in. I'm going to get a haircut."
And he got in his car and left. Looks like he gave up on the Oilers.

Well to the Oilers benefit they didn’t score the kiss of death first goal!

Oilers need to stop trying to be pretty, and just start throwing shit at the net.

You watching the pens game????

Shots are even but man Tampa is flying. Hope the can sustain this as most teams that come out flying can’t.

No goal

#2033 1 year ago

The Rangers from the first two series showed up tonight.

Hard to believe shots are even as it’s been all Tampa

#2061 1 year ago

Trouba says there’s nothing wrong with that hit. The NHL Players Safety has suspended the fan for 1 game.

#2075 1 year ago

Rangers forgot to show up, except Shesterkin.

#2092 1 year ago
Quoted from Cobray:

To do what they're doing in the salary-cap era, losing players

But let’s not forget that Tampa manipulated the salary cap last year thus had a lot of top players on their team that they shouldn’t have. Smart of them to sit those players on IR then bring them back for the playoffs as they would’ve been over the cap

#2094 1 year ago
Quoted from Cobray:

Wow, I though only bitter fans thought of things that way. lol. I don't see it that way at all. Kucherov was injured almost the entire season and couldn't play because of legit hip surgery.. some hockey players are never the same or can never play again after something like that. The fact he sat is a stretch to call "salary cap manipulation" IMO. If you look at the circumstances, the Chicago Blackhawks and many teams have been under the same circumstances AND went on to win cups. And, it's LEGAL. Imagine saying you want to sit Sidney Crosby or Ovechkin the entire season, just to bring him in at the beginning of the playoffs so you can manipulate the cap- a cold player coming off delicate surgery inserted into the fastest, most critical part of the season, all while not having that talent to get you there. Makes no sense.
The Lightning have been able to replace entire lines of people they lost due to cap problems, only to keep the train rolling... seems like they know what they are doing, no? And if it's legal, I'd put it on all of the other teams to figure it out!

Not bitter at all and props to Tampa for doing it but let's not make it out that they struggled with players. I am hoping Tampa wins it. Be nice to see a, so called, Dynasty team as we just dont see it that often anymore.

The key point you fail to mention is that Kucherov was able to come back for the last week of the regular season but it would've put them over the cap so they let him stay on IR. It was the smart thing to do as they didn't need to worry about making the playoffs.
