That line of Crosby, Letang and Malkin is nothing short of amazing. I mean, think of this...they have played together on the same team and same line with eachother for 16 years! That's insane! That's like, not even possible. Lol That's an all time NHL record that will never be beat. On top of that, they've made the playoffs every year and have won 3 Cups together.
Kemps totally stole that game for the Avs. He even assisted on the game winner. What a career defining win for him, especially after bombing in game 3. I'm so happy for him and think the Avs close it out Friday night at home.
That is a crushing defeat for TB. They will be sick over losing that game. Hope the Avs blow them out Friday.
GO AVS!!!
Yeah, Nathan Mackinnon not getting off the ice really affected the play. That's totally the reason why they won. PAHLEEZEE!!
Why aren't any TB fans saying anything about the blatant trip on Kadri, 12ft in front of Vasy? If he doesn't get tripped there, he mostly likely scores. If he doesn't score there, you know the Avs would've scored on the ensuing PP for tripping. So stop with bs. TB got rocked the entire OT. They were all gassed snf the Avs were flying, skating circles around them. Them winning was inevitable. All facts.
YESSSSS AVALANCHE!!!!
All we did all year was win baby!
Jared Bednar - The only coach in hockey history to win the championship as a coach in the ECHL (with the South Carolina Stingrays) the AHL (with the Avs minor league team the Lake Erie Monsters) and the NHL with the Colorado Avalanche!
Cale Makar - The 1st player in hockey history to win the Hobey Baker award, the Calder Memorial Trophy, The Norris Trophy, The Conn Smythe AND The Stanley Cup! And he's only 23! Wowww! ALL HAIL CALEEEE!!!!
Congrats to all us Avs faithful out there, and especially those of us who've loved and followed this team since they entered the league as the Quebec Nordiques!

Then there's the argument of well Gretzky and Lemieux played in a time when scoring was at it's highest but you also had rules back then that you dont have today (2 line pass, the clutching and grabbing was at its highest comes to mind) that hindered them. It's been reported that Gretzky was awarded phantom points.
You can go on and on and pick apart players and stats, in the end I am just glad that I lived through this era of players. Who knows when we'll see the likes of Lemieux, Gretzky, Crosby, Ovie, Roy, Hasek, Brodeur, Jagr, Messier, Kane, Sudins ..... etc.
Sit back and enjoy and here's to hoping Ovie can break 900! (he's on the pace to score 52 this year, so he'll need to play at least 2 more seasons after this to hit 900)
I watched them all too. The newer generation doesn't understand how things use to be with the rules and dirtier play. But I'll say 2 things.
I'm the decade of the 80s. Only 2 men had over 1,000 points. Wayne Gretzky and Peter Stastny. It's sad that Stastny had a later start in the NHL, missing apme prime years, due to having to defect (along with his brother Anton and Marion) from Czechoslovakia. And Stastny played on some horrific teams with bad players and still racked up all those points. So he is someone most don't talk about and they don't know his stats.
Most of all, Mario Lemieux was so awesome. Totally unstoppable. Not near the teammates that Gretzky had, but regardless, look up his numbers and look up his games played. Worst of all, Mario lost TONS of games due to battling his cancer issues. If he never had health issues, he'd have have probably 3,500 career points. He was truly that great.
I'm glad I got to see all these incredible players' careers. Even saw Robert Gordon "Bobby" Orr play. Incredible.
For the record, my all time favorite player was Peter Stastny. I met him, got a stick from him before a game and talked with him and had him sign the stick for me after. I still have it and always will. Wish he could've won 1 Stanley Cup. He deserved it.
The Canuckleheads need to tank the season, get the #1 overall and draft that kid Connor Bedard... and I have just the way for them to do it.⬇️
Trade JT Miller and Bo Horvat to the Avalanche for 2 #1s, 2 #2s, JT Compher, a case of hockey sticks and a bag of used pucks.
Quoted from hwyhed:Very late round picks?! Strong pass. Sure, great players can be found in 4-6 rounds, but I don’t Rutherford is that stupid.
Noooooo. I was just joking brother. The Canucks would never do that trade and the Avs couldn't even work a deal like that out with their salary cap issues.
On a serious note though, the Avs could get 1 or the other from the Canucks in a trade deal. I'd prefer Miller, but Horvat looks like the guy the Vancouver is leaning more towards trading away.
The trade deadline is in March, so things are going to start heating up soon.
