One bad game tonight. It happens.
The point of only beating teams above .500 goes out the window when you play the same 7 teams 7-8 times a season and no one else.
They have the best goals for in the league right now and seem to score at will. (Tonight being the exception)
The only thing shaky about them is Price's frame of mind and health. Having a solid backup to lighten the load will help Price come playoff time.
Adding a Reaves like tough guy for the playoffs will make them scarier.

I love hockey, enjoy watching, but I typically just watch leaf games when I can and couldn't tell you much about other teams unless I know the major names...
I'm sure if all I did was watch sports news and other things I'd catch on to more, but I feel like I'd get completely lost with all the stats.
You talk about fantasy leagues and I feel like I'd be at a total loss (or extremely lucky) if I ever tried to play along.
I just feel insignificant in this thread and wish I could add more.

Don't feel inadequate. I have an uncanny ability to remember the most mundane minutia.
Being involved in fantasy hockey helps with stats too. And I don't have the NHL network or watch games every night. I do however like to watch the sportsnet YouTube highlights of each game the next day. (It's usually condensed to 5-6 minutes of highlights for each game)

Getting seats behind the net in the first rafters was like being on a 60 minute roller coaster ride. Anytime a player would cross the blueline and wind up to shoot everyone would flinch and protect their face. So many errant tips or deflection would send the puck flying right into the rafters. This was before the protective netting was ever used.

Bad news for US. Espn coverage of hockey is not great. When they had the rights previously they broadcasted 2 games a week.
I can see them doing one game a week on ESPN and then carrying more on ESPN+ forcing people to pay. We shall see.

My goodness those alternate retro jerseys worn by the Ducks and Stars last night are nasty! The duck looks like he's on a mix of crack and steroids while the Dallas ones were reverse retro. (Basically all white...including the pants)

The guy is doing a wrap arround to score in empty net and hit happens at the end of the sequence. He is clearly in a position where he can't prorect himself. Scheifele played frustrated the entire game and the only goal from him was to injure a player. Why he didn't play the puck here? Why he hit the end and both skates left the ice?

Every ordeal, since the bad decision not to suspend Wilson, has ended up as a suspension.
The NHL may as well just rewrite the rules at this point.
It'll be at the point where you won't be able to hit a player crossing the blue line with their head down staring at the puck. Because they are "vulnerable" and it'll be deemed "predatory."

Question for the Montreal folks…. I was always enamored by the fact that the Habs fans never really booed anyone. They had such an appreciation for good hockey that even the worst of opponents they would applaud if that player had a good game. When did that change? watching tonight they booed every Lighting player during the announcement of the starting lineups.
Montrealer's just showing their true color.
Remember when they booed the US National anthem a few years ago during a playoff series against Boston?
