Quoted from callaway15:I'm wondering if I want to make the trip to go to TPF this year. What are people's thoughts? Is it worth it?
Well worth it. Time of your life.

Quoted from Coyote:do ya'll wear little Pinside badges
I've been sent there three times by Chicago Gaming. So I wore a TPF lanyard with my name on it. LTG : )

Quoted from undrdog:Where do we submit info for your badges?
He usually starts a thread and has the link here too.

Quoted from SuperPinball:Is it worth getting an online weekend pass if I plan to attend only Friday and Saturday? What does the daily at the door price cost?

Great news. I'm going to the Texas Pinball Festival.
I'll be hanging around the Chicago Gaming booth. Please stop by and say hi. Check out their games and chat with Ryan and me.
See you there !

Quoted from pkiefert:We need to let TPF catch their breath and figure out their game plan.
Exactly.
Everybody is scrambling right now to figure where they are at. What next. Etc. Etc.
It may take weeks or months to sort out.
Please give the show promoters time to figure a way out of this hell.

Quoted from Ed_in_Texas:Our hearts are broken to have to announce the 2020 Texas Pinball Festival scheduled for March 27-29 is cancelled. This decision was not an easy one to make, and we know many of you are as disappointed as we are.
I'm sorry Ed and crew. This must have been a hard decision to make. The right ones usually are.
Best wishes going forward.

Quoted from pinwiztom:IS the show venue, hotel & convention hall, etc.
Giving the show promoters and organizers and other guests/vendors a break under the circumstances,
or will they be holding everyone to their contracts.
Not knowing their contracts. We don't know.
Usually if a show cancels, they are out all the money given or promised. Hotel, convention center, guarantee on rooms, food, bars, etc.
Now if the City, state, or Feds close it, then maybe not.
And since the hotel and convention center will be empty, for this and maybe future stuff. No telling how generous or forgiving they might be, or can be. Even empty venues have huge operating expenses.
Remember the Goodfellas quote : "Business bad? Fuck you, pay me. Oh, you had a fire? Fuck you, pay me. Place got hit by lightning, huh? Fuck you, pay me. ".

Something else to consider. Say an event gets held, or not. And doesn't live up to expectations, but pays for everything anyway. Even guarantees on rooms, food, bars, etc.
They may not be welcome back. Happened to a comic convention in Texas some years back. They paid for everything, and weren't allowed to return.
So TPF has a hell of a lot on their plate right now.
I hope it all works out for the best. For TPF. I'd hate for any show to have all this going on. Especially with so much beyond their control.

Quoted from dothedoo:Considering it’s not even 2021 yet, this sounds like a REALLY LONG TIME from now.
Coming later that year. In 635 days. The Golden Goose. My business' 50th Anniversary Party.
There. That makes a great show like TPF not that long of a time away, and a little closer.
