Quoted from Whysnow:
The gofundme stuff has gotten way out of control. I support TPF and will happily buy merch to help the business recover, but a go fund me set up by one business for another just seems off. ESP with all the individuals that are now out of work and we are just seeing the start of it.
When business start asking for charity then I don’t agree.
This is why I gave $20.
It is reasonable and middle of the road.
If they don't do TPF 2021 because it is not possible I will not be back here exclaiming the unfortunate life of giving and it not happening.
Instead, I thought it through long and hard and chalked it up to the spirit of charitble giving.
These folks very well could ha e arranged their lives so that the majority of their income came from TPF in order to give it their full attention. Accurate or not I assessed the amount of money I am capable of giving even knowing the current volatile market and said to myself: " ehhh.. it's for a good cause that brings or has brought me or others happiness. "
Again. You with the black and white man. It's a hard time and some people want to feel good by sharing compassion along with this harsh reality.
I once bought a shitload of pizza for a company that routinely did right by me as a customer. Certainly not needed right? However can you understand.. try to understand why I did and continue to do that?
