Quoted from LTG:Old German tradition. Hide a pickle ornament on a Christmas tree. The child that finds it gets an extra gift.
No idea if that goes for yodeling pickles too.
LTG : )
My 3 kiddos enjoy that tradition every year. The winner gets an extra present and they open the first present.

My youngest son was the back-to-back Christmas pickle winner in 2018 and 2019:

Is it something that is hidden in the tree on Christmas eve for the kids to find in the morning - please share - sounds like fun for the kids
I took this from Wikipedia, as it describes it more concisely than I could:
"The Christmas pickle is a lesser-known Christmas tradition for some Americans. A decoration in the shape of a pickle is hidden on a Christmas tree, with the finder receiving either a reward or good fortune for the following year. There are a number of different origin stories attributed to the tradition, including an origination in Germany. This theory has since been discounted, and it is now thought to be a German-American tradition created in the late 19th century."
It is lots of fun. My kids love it. Of course...who wouldn't love a way to get an extra present?
P.S. You can often find a pickle at the dollar store, Walmart, target, or online (of course). Some people also use a real pickle, but I don't recommend it because there is no loop/hook to hang it and they drip.
Quoted from Jenniebear:Got my gift today. I had to open because the box is crushed. Got an AC/DC playfield wall hanger; Purple Apron for my Ghostbusters; Game of Thrones Stern poster & Game Exchange T-Shirt, Thank you Secret Santa!!

Nice gifts!
Quoted from luckycreature:Seems like a good year for Stern Banners. They do look pretty great on the walls. Some awesome gifts so far. Keep it coming!
They are great wall decorations. Translites, BGs, and PFs are also nice. They tend to be awesome conversation starters.
Quoted from dc2010:Is that the Bengals mascot?
Yes. It is in remembrance of of Terry Ritchie (who-dey). It was his avatar.
Quoted from Saltimbanco:Someone over here is bound to say chinchillas..
The thought had crossed my mind...
Quoted from LTG:If your Secret Santa went all out. I'm sure it is.
If your Secret Santa was thorough. I'm sure he tried it out.
If your Secret Santa cared enough to give the very best. He cleaned it too.
Your Secret Santa is doing a good job making those chinchillas seem like a darn fine gift right about now.

To the SS: pm me. We have a lot in common!
I'm curious if anyone ever gives raffle tickets via project pinball. I think that would be a great gift idea!
For anyone that may not know, Project Pinball raffles off new pinballs to ticket buyers and places pinballs in children's hospitals (they currently have raffles for AIQ and LZ, but you can choose any currently made Stern pin). It is a FANTASTIC charity. Here is the link:

Also, those mini pinballs looked so much fun, I'm going to try to produce some myself (there's gotta be 3D printable files, etc.) 'cause they don't seem to exist for modern (licensed) games. Those banners were quite cool, I'm ordering a few of those when I get a chance!
Quoted from Apinjunkie:if you did a space shuttle I would be first on your list of eager buyers.
Quoted from Hayfarmer:I would love ehoh , met and zepp!!
