Okay then, if we're dropping hints I like pinball, Star Wars, and naked ladies.

Quoted from Coz:Already bought my gift. Great fun!
[quoted image]
Wouldn't this be more like Victoria's Secret Santa
I got to say I'm enjoying this a lot more than I thought I would. It's really awoken the sleeping stalker in me. I'm really enjoying all of the stealthy stealth research, can't wait to get a package together and out in the mail.
Quoted from Saltimbanco:Well, someone is getting a new pin!!
[quoted image]
So for what it's worth, if someone actually does end up with one of these, I saw a lava lamp that I believe went with one of my granddaughters hippie Barbie collection , that would make a great custom topper. Never too soon to start thinking about mods.
Well I got my package in the mail today, I feel good about that. The bummer is, my Santee is maybe a bit of a Christmas purist and didn't open last year's gift until Christmas Eve. I guess I'll just have to wait to see if the choices I made are well-received.
Quoted from pacmanretro:Opened my shipping box to peek at the santa packages.
Everything is wrapped different and so beautifully!! It will certainly put my wrapping to shame. Lol
OHH the temptation!
Each item has a number of 1-12 and looks like a note/hint on each one! It's really hard to not sneak a peek at each hint right away
So, I want to be patient, but I'm not sure yet how I want to stagger my thrills. I've never done a true 12 days of Christmas, where you don't start until the 25th...not sure I can hold out that long.
So, in lieu of that, I'm thinking one of two ways...
1) I wait till 13-14th (to end on either Christmas eve or day) and open one every day till Christmas.
2) I start on the 2nd-3rd (to end either Christmas eve or day) and open one every other day. To force myself to wait eagerly all month to get through them all. What do you guys think??
[quoted image]
First of all, that's awesome, I kind of feel like a heel for how I did mine now. I would go with option two ,if I Were Me.
Quoted from Fezmid:gourmet corn nuts
I got to admit, I never would have thought I would hear that said.
Quoted from Saltimbanco:Next time, put some tiny pj's on them!
https://abcnews.go.com/amp/Lifestyle/oregon-animal-shelter-worker-crochets-tiny-sweater-hairless/story?id=43049731[quoted image]
That's awesome, it's so nice to see people are doing things like this. Reminds me of a story I read about the guy from Oregon who is making wigs for bald eagles.
... 10 minutes later. So it occurred to me, the chinchillas, what if there were some poor live chinchillas in the package material. Better to open it, just in case.
I was correct.. sort of. There were chinchillas ,only not live ones, just poorly rendered origami ones. Nice touch SS ,thanks for keeping this year's theme going. Will try to hold off until Christmas before I open it.
... 10 minutes later. Okay, I caved. I thought I'll just remove the gift wrapping and not open the package. More surprises. It clearly says pumpkin on the box but penciled-in above that is the word not. Cryptic! One thing I do know, is that everything that exists in this universe, is either a pumpkin, or not a pumpkin. I feel like I'm no closer to knowing what's inside than when I started. I will try to hold off until Christmas before opening the package.
20201203_113014 (resized).jpgQuoted from Atari_Daze:RIGGGGHT, you have already shown NO will power whatsoever. OK well, 10 minutes of will power.
I'm afraid I have to respectfully disagree. The way I do the math, 3 10 minute intervals equals 30 minutes., even in metric time (which I believe is what they use in Canada.) Also, I'm in total agreement with you in that I know I won't make it to the end of the day much less till Christmas before I open this box.
Quoted from LTG:So your Secret Santa gift could be one or the other.
LTG : )
Seems like we circled back to Schrodinger's squash.
well we knew this was inevitable, I caved. Honestly, I've spent the last half-hour gazing into this. I received an exquisitely handcrafted, 2 in blown glass marble from my SS. As impressive as this seems in the photos, they just don't do it justice. The combination of materials and techniques in this piece are truly out-of-this-world. That pun was intended. I've been a glass blower for 25 years and can truly appreciate the craftsmanship that went into this piece. This one will end up in my studio as I can see it being a source of inspiration for my work for many years to come. Thank you SS, you really knocked it out of the park!

Wow is right. It's actually a single piece. The back side is done to look like a cratered moon and when you turn it around you're invited into that snapshot of the universe. The deeper you look into this piece and the more you turn it and move it the more it exposes you to that universe. I'll post some better images on the glass-blowing and pinball thread later today. Did I mention I absolutely love this piece.
Quoted from pacmanretro:Absolutely BEAUTIFUL!!
Didn't realize there was a glass blower thread....

Quoted from Saltimbanco:The only thing left to open is that pump, or did I miss something?
He's probably been busy with that all morning.
Quoted from Fezmid:WOW! As someone who has taken a few classes, but wasn't even able to make the marble round, let alone that detailed, I'm in awe! Here was my sad attempt - although it is fun and I keep it on my desk. Bonus points because it can't roll away! [quoted image]
Wow impressive color. And it's not that it's not round it's just spherically challenged. I still knock out some that kind of roll like Grandpa when he's leaving the Polish home.
Quoted from Haymaker:WOW! What an amazing and thoughtful gift! That is so cool!!
I couldn't agree more, and the more I explore it,the cooler it gets. As it turns out the artist useed UV reactive glass for the planet. This gift just keeps on giving. And thanks again to my SS for this, really above and beyond. Honestly, it makes me really want to step up my game for next year. Hey Less ,have you given any thought to Christmas in July?
20201203_152448 (resized).jpg20201203_152523 (resized).jpgSimply put, but well said. Honestly it deserves Two exclamation points, one for the SS and one for the artist. You can find more of his Wares here https://ericmort.com/
Quoted from Saltimbanco:Secret Santa Package received!! Our 'low maintenance' pet rabbit really wants to open this!! Not sure how long I can resist..!
[quoted image]
I've seen that look in rabbits before. They get that look whenever they detect the presence of chinchillas. Might want to open it up just to be sure.
Quoted from guitarded:Just take out the Tilt Bob. Problem solved.
At least with a machine like this you know that the only problems you have with it...will be small ones.
Quoted from Mitoska:Mail day! These will look sweet in the game room! Wooden tmnt pizza sign and gotg print! Thanks santa!!!
[quoted image][quoted image][quoted image]
Awesome gotg poster!
Quoted from dirkdiggler:One more. Haha.
I'd take that basketball everywhere with me. I'd even keep it under my pillow. Maybe that's why I couldn't sleep at night.
Aaah...the classics.
I just wanted to jump in and say Merry Christmas to all of the secret Santas out there. I realize it's a little late, but unfortunately some pesky real life issues have pulled me away for from pinside recently. I'm back and I can't wait to read through the hundred and fifty posts I've fallen behind on. Just at a glance I see so many wonderful, thoughtful and generous gifts. What a wonderful community. Thanks again John for putting this on, this has been a great High in a year of Lows.
Quoted from Saltimbanco:A late Merry Christmas to you! And as you go through the posts, just keep on thinking about chinchillas and Dot's Pretzels while reading on!
How could I not be thinking about chinchillas and Dot's pretzels. Actually it all makes sense now for years I've picked up garlic dip from a booth at the Renaissance Festival. You could always sample it by dipping a pretzel stick in and it's the best dip ever .I always buy some of the mix. When I get home and make it,it's never as good as it was out of the festival. This Thread has enlightened me. It wasn't the dip that was that damn good they just used dots pretzels. Barnum was right.
Wow, so many wonderful things from so many wonderful people. So I got to ask, where would I find one of those ugly Christmas sweaters that says Merry Flippin Christmas and has the pinball silhouette in the pattern? I'm just assuming that they're made from chinchillas. Hey Lloyd did you try the fudge yet?
Quoted from LTG:Today. Yes. Amazing. Really great. Thank you !
Lloyd
I just recognized the point of origin, there's a lot of good fudge makers around those parts. I hope you have a prosperous New Year sir.
Quoted from Arcade:Thanks to my Secret Santa [quoted image]
This sweater! If one of the secret Santas that sent this out to their recipients would like to PM me,would love to order one for myself.
Quoted from Saltimbanco:I really enjoyed looking at the toughtful gifts with personal messages and hints. Also, those mini pinballs looked so much fun, I'm going to try to produce some myself (there's gotta be 3D printable files, etc.) 'cause they don't seem to exist for modern (licensed) games. Those banners were quite cool, I'm ordering a few of those when I get a chance!
if you did a space shuttle I would be first on your list of eager buyers.
Quoted from Haymaker:Dude its an awesome game. It's from 1982 and it's so packed full of every cutting edge feature it's amazing. Makes LZ seems like a kids toy. So much fun speech and a lot of bells and whistles. HIT THE SHOWERS
Congrats! You're going to love this game the ruleset is incredibly deep for a game of that era. Gameplay is outstanding and challenging. Artwork is fun and that back glass gives me pinball wood every time I see it. This is a game that's been on my wish list for a long time now. Merry Christmas, and enjoy. Keep flippin
