Not sure if I'm jumping the gun or stealing cdnpinbacon thread thunder here.....but I am super pumped for the 2019-2020 NHL season so I started the NHL thread for this year.

Lots of off season summer drama this year....especially with the RFA contract negotiations. Dustin Byfuglien is rumoured to be eyeing retirement...hopefully it's nothing CTE related. (Like Luck and Gronk)

Anyways, let's just drop the puck and play some hockey already!

#4 2 years ago
Quoted from TheLaw:

You are indeed. You should have just PM'd and reminded him

Well I guess that makes me a horrible person.

#6 2 years ago
Quoted from hwyhed:

I luv puck talk...

That's kind of why I started this thread. I couldn't wait as there was so much going on in the off season it's crazy! Puck talk baby!!

Winnipeg seems to be falling apart before the puck has even dropped for the season.

#7 2 years ago

Eugene Melnyk is a bum and the NHL should take away his hockey team! It's embarrassing being a Sens fan with everything he's done....let alone this.

#9 2 years ago
Quoted from Halfwasted:

Leafs win the cup this year. You heard it here first.

0-2 pre-seaon so far.

Time to panic?

#25 2 years ago
Quoted from SewerUrchin:

Blues again in 2020 ! Back to back.

Carolina traded Justin Faulk to St. Louis for NOTHING! Good on St. Louis....their D line looks great! If Binnington stays true to form then they will be a playoff threat.

#31 2 years ago

Welcome back buddy! I figured you had a booze filled summer after the Raptors championship and subsequent Mitch Marner signing.

What's the beef on the streets of the GTA about the Matthews incident? Much ado about nothing I presume?

My fantasy draft is tomorrow night Can't wait for puck drop next week!

#35 2 years ago
Quoted from cdnpinbacon:

What a crappy snoozefest watching leafs game last night...3rd period head phones went on and so did Joe's garage. Montreal you looked brutal even in preseason.

You can't really take the pre-season too seriously. But don't tell that to Evander Kane. It looks like he'll be starting the season with a 10 game suspension for abuse of an official.

#41 2 years ago

Evander Kane got a 3 game suspension for abuse of an official.

#43 2 years ago
Quoted from TheLaw:

Hey man that ref attacked him!

After taking a two handed slash to the legs from Kane. Both we're in the wrong. Maybe that's why he got 3 instead of a 10?

#52 2 years ago

2 hours 'til puckdrop!!

#55 2 years ago
Quoted from cdnpinbacon:

Jason Spezza sits/stands in the press box tonight against former team
Babs getting roasted..rightfully so...why do that?

I don't get that move. But maybe that's why I'm not an NHL coach. Babs said Spezza will be playing the next game though.

#58 2 years ago
Quoted from Meegis:

Leafs officially in 1st place!
(Gotta take it where you can get it)

Auston Matthews is on pace for 164 goals

#63 2 years ago

How was that Avalanche 2nd goal not a high stick? I hope this isn't a sign of things to come from the ref's this year. Last year was the worst reffing I've ever seen.

#67 2 years ago

13 games on the schedule tonite!! Love me some Saturday night hockey!!

#71 2 years ago
Quoted from Jackontherocks:

So my friends convinced me to do fantasy hockey again. I did not studying and just picked based on rank and points from last year on the ESPN fantasy version we play. So far so good. It’s way early but some teams big surprises. As a Pens fan little worried about this year.

I'm in a keeper league and managed to draft a wicked team this year. We use Yahoo....but their trash talking chat is full of bugs. We ended up moving over to WhatsApp just for the trash talk, memes and gifs. lol

#72 2 years ago

Never seen this before....

Kapanen admitted after the game that he didn't know throwing a broken stick at a player would result in a penalty shot. Lol

#74 2 years ago
Quoted from Meegis:

I don't understand why it was a penalty shot though. Not just an additional 2 min penalty.

Rule 53, which states that, “When any member of the defending Team … throws or shoots any part of a stick or any other object at the puck or puck carrier in his defending zone” a penalty shot can be granted by the referee."

The funniest thing was Max Domi's reaction.
"Atta boy Kapanen you fucking idiot!" LOL

#79 2 years ago
Quoted from TheLaw:

News to me!

Quoted from Meegis:

I didn't know it was a penalty shot... Interesting
And as much as I think domi is a tool, I sadly agree with him on that burn
Kapanen was just dumb.

I don't think it's an automatic penalty shot. The wording in the rule says the referee 'CAN' grant a penalty shot.

I'm sure there could be times this would happen by accident and a penalty would only be called.

Ultimately, what Kapanen did fit the exact description of the rule, and was done on purpose...so the referee kind of had to award a penalty shot.

Anthony Mantha 4 - Dallas Stars 3

#81 2 years ago

Gritty is one savage mascot! Lol

#85 2 years ago

David Pastrnak 4 - Anaheim Ducks 2

#90 2 years ago

The Pens just scored a shorthanded goal....in OT to hand the avalanche their first defeat of the season.

#93 2 years ago
Quoted from SewerUrchin:

Had him on my fantasy team and he was just starting to warm up.

Same here....just put him on IR+. I'm just happy it's now and not at the end of the fantasy year and during the playoffs.

#113 2 years ago

Goal of the year by Matthew Tkachuck!! Holy shit!!

#114 2 years ago

Who the hell gives up a 3-0 rush in overtime?? The Vancouver Canucks...that's who! Can't blame Markstrom for lumberjackin' his stick.

"Never seen that!" LOL even the announcer is flabbergasted!

#124 2 years ago

The CBC is running with this story as if it was a presidential assassination and bypassing Remembrance day altogether now. Stay classy CBC.

#127 2 years ago
Quoted from Blitzburgh99:

But it’s ok for your prime minister to wear black face....twice?

It was three times documented. But he can't actually recall the amount of times he's done it.

#128 2 years ago

Marner out 4 weeks minimum.
Crosby out for undisclosed amount of time.
Landeskog still out
Rantanen still out

Plenty of high profile injuries so far...

#130 2 years ago
Quoted from SewerUrchin:

Tarasenko for the season here in St. Louis.

That's right. He's out for 5 months. The injuries are piling up for everyone.

#138 2 years ago

#141 2 years ago

Jack Eichel 4 - Ottawa Senators 2

#147 2 years ago
Quoted from Meegis:

The leafs forgot to leave the dr swing room last night.
I swear, when they put in new goalies, they forget what defense means and throw them to the deep end.
30 shots in 35ish mins of hockey?

They left that kid out to dry against the pens. The leafs are a mess right now.

#157 2 years ago

It was bound to happen the minute Babcock began referring to himself in the third person.

Nunchucks?! 1st time I heard that 1..

#196 1 year ago

I know they say some people resemble their pets....but a coach resembling their team logo?? Never seen that before.

#216 1 year ago

Tkachuk vs. Doughty tonite should be interesting

#218 1 year ago
Quoted from SewerUrchin:

Was at the Blues /Leafs game tonight. We played like shit.

Binnington got chased early!! Very uncharacteristic of him.

#220 1 year ago

The Canucks released a "Love Boat" parody that's so awful it's funny. (featuring Quinn Hughes as 'Huggy Bear')

#223 1 year ago
Quoted from Pahuffman:

Going to Preds/Sharks tomorrow night. Pretty excited! Haven't been to a Preds game in a few years.

Same here....haven't been since 2013. I got tickets for tomorrow night's game against Carolina. I don't care who wins.....I just want a high scoring barn burner!!!

#224 1 year ago

Not even at my seat yet and I see this....gotta love the passion!!

#245 1 year ago

The Pens have almost $35 million of cap space on the IR. But they keep winning.

#248 1 year ago
Quoted from cdnpinbacon:

Colorado ..millions of cap-space freed up .
Subban is pointless in forever and weber is having a career year in Mtl. Subban would fit nice in Toronto (If Cap Space /trade available) But I Would Worry About His Off Ice Stuff . NJ in for a rough road ..keep the faith NJ fans! I'm pulling for you. I would be very interested in getting Subban if I was GM. He's tough too

PK Subban is over rated and more concerned about his brand. Not worth the price and wayyyy too risky.

McDavid has the most raw skill...it's insane! Imagine if he played for a good team? I feel bad for him playing for the Coilers.

#274 1 year ago
Quoted from tomdotcom:

Are you still glad? hahahahah 9-2...ouch.

That was a beat down of epic proportions. Lol

#286 1 year ago
Quoted from tomdotcom:

Tkachuk is such a little bitch, but he did lay out Kassian a couple times, I actually wouldn't mind having him on our team, just don't tell anyone [quoted image]

He's a super pest! Hate to play against him but would want him on your team.

He played Kassian like a fiddle last night to get his team the win.

#289 1 year ago

#301 1 year ago
Quoted from sk8ersublime:

unless he for some reason decides to go back to Russia.

He's chasing Gretzky....there's no way he's going back to Russia.

#305 1 year ago
Quoted from hwyhed:

Coach Gallant FIRED from the GK’s..the team is currently outside the playoffs, but just 4 points from 2nd in the conference..weird timing, yet he’s still a coach for the all star game? And replaced w Deboer?

That firing is really odd to me. Is his firing performance related or did he do something "unprofessional?"

#308 1 year ago
Quoted from ImNotNorm:

Is his firing performance related or did he do something "unprofessional?"

It's just been confirmed that his firing has been performance based.

#309 1 year ago

3 coaches have been fired this year after losing to the Sabres.

Kind of insulting to the Sabres isn't it? Lol

Kid stands in line for hours to have his McDavid jersey signed. Gets to McDavid and is told he won't sign the jersey. Signs a piece of scrap paper for the kid instead.

The kids response is epic!

#343 1 year ago
Quoted from finnflash:

What was the reason to not sign his jersey?

Apparently it was a "contractual obligation"....but he signed another kids jersey earlier.

#345 1 year ago
Quoted from luch:

These guys just don't realize what this does to their brand .

#348 1 year ago
Quoted from meSz:

I dont know the whole deal behind this as for all we know after McDavid signed the first jersey maybe, whoever was responsible for the signing, told him to keep it to just signing the cards. We all sit here and think what a jerk he is but it might be out of his control. Also, a lot more athletes are refusing to sign jerseys and other memorabilia due to professional autograph seekers now paying kids to get autographs for them so the can turn around and sell them at auctions and online. You'll also see a lot of athletes now making, whatever they sign, personal so that people can't turn around and sell the item.
In short ..... no matter what people do today someone is not happy ...... case in point look at the post here on Pinside

Then why have an autograph session?

#350 1 year ago
Quoted from meSz:

To sign the cards ...... looking at the picture he has a stack of McDavid UPPER DECK Cards so it might have been an autograph session that was put on by Upper Deck. In the States autograph sessions are often sponsored by a company and they can dictate as to what the player is to sign. Again, I am speculating here as most athletes don't care as to what they sign. Who knows maybe McDavid had a bad game the night before or was hungover! I do know that kid is probably a new proud owner of a Crosby jersey

I understand what you're saying and don't disagree. But in my mind it just looks bad on the player and their brand. These kids idolize these players and spend tons of time and money (most likely their parents) on tickets/merchandise and it allows the likes of McDavid to live comfortably for the rest of his life.

The kid wasn't asking him to sign something ridiculous....it was Oilers merchandise.

The lawyers/owners/corporate don't wear the heat....it's the player who does. And they probably lost a fan over it. He will naturally gravitate to another team...maybe it'll be the Pens.

The saying "never meet your idols/heros" comes to mind.

My 5 cents.

#352 1 year ago
Quoted from meSz:

Agree! One thing I didn't care for was ... after the kid tossed the jersey you can hear someone say thank you.

I think that was just a Canadian defence mechanism more than a sarcastic verbal jab at the kid. Lol

#353 1 year ago

The battle of Alberta was fun to watch last night. Tkachuck and Kassian fought....but only after RNH and Monahan fought. (Didn't see that one coming)

#368 1 year ago

The Seattle Sasquatch!!!

#370 1 year ago

The Oilers/Flames game tonight is a doosey! Battle of Alberta 2.0

I hope these two teams meet in the playoffs! (That's if they both make the playoffs, lol)

#385 1 year ago
Quoted from cdnpinbacon:

Burned on the over! That's why I don't gamble
Ho hum game, Shakira and demi rocked it.

Same. Took KC on the over. 4 more points scored woulda been nice. Oh well

#393 1 year ago
Quoted from meSz:

5 GA on 21 SOG .... that’s rough

Advice for the Leafs: Get rid of Hutchinson!! He's like Garrett Sparks 2.0...how many chances will he get?

#397 1 year ago
Quoted from Meegis:

As much as I like to hate on the goalies, we lack majority in defence.
We often leave our goalies hanging out to dry.

Looks like Hutchinson won't be going anywhere yet. Anderson isn't traveling with the team due to an apparent neck injury and is listed as day-to-day.

Another sick goal by Matthew Tkachuk. Top shelf...where grandma keeps the cookies!!!

#418 1 year ago

Good ol' Edmonton boy Bowmeester seems to be doing well. They used a defibrillator on him so save his life. Well done to everyone involved.

#431 1 year ago
Quoted from meSz:

The self proclaimed King is dead! Rangers are stuck with him and his contract! Only option for him is to go the route of Ray Bourque and look for a contender that's willing to give a handout and take Henrik on as a backup.

Which is nobody. Lol

#433 1 year ago

The more I watch the Tkachuk brothers play, the more I like them. They play hard and get stats in almost every category. They'll both be superstars in a few years. Especially Brady when he gets out of Ottawa.

#438 1 year ago
Quoted from cdnpinbacon:

Toronto Marlies zamboni driver In for injured canes goalie as emergency replacement.[quoted image]

And he got the win!

Just goes to show you anyone can beat the Leafs

#443 1 year ago

I would laugh if the Leafs missed the playoffs by 2pts.

#447 1 year ago
Quoted from hwyhed:

and the trade deadline less then 24 hours away..shits gonna get interesting...

The trade deadline will be a dud this year.

#461 1 year ago
Quoted from cdnpinbacon:

I like marleau to Pitt. Sorry Mesz ...Great move

I disagree big time! An absolute waste!

#463 1 year ago
Quoted from cdnpinbacon:

You guys are both wrong

I predict Marleau will score a goal his first game with the new team. And then fade away into obscurity like he did when he was traded to the sharks and leafs.

He won't be able to keep up in Pittsburgh.

#466 1 year ago

The world can't get enough of David Ayres!!

#469 1 year ago

The mayor of Raleigh, North Carolina announced that tomorrow will be David Ayres day. He also showed up in the free agency list of my hockey pool too. Dude is a rockstar!!!

Fun fact: David Ayres had more shots on goal than William Nylander on Saturday.

#471 1 year ago
Quoted from sixtyfourbits:

I hate how secretive the avs are being with Grubauers injury. I have 5 weeks left in my fantasy hockey league, and having to keep him as dead weight, possibly for no valid reason, is annoying. I’m hoping with the trade deadline now passed, they give an update soon.

Can you grab Francouz and run both of them? Or is he already taken?

#476 1 year ago
Quoted from sixtyfourbits:

I was lucky enough to grab Francouz when Grubauer went down. So I have a good tandem with vasilevskiy and Francouz. Unfortunately we only have one IR slot, and I have both Grubauer and Klefbom out. Our league counts sog and blocked shots, so I don’t want to drop either. I’ll be ok having one as a dead roster spot for a bit, it would just be nice to know if I could drop Grubauer or not, that’s all

We run with SOG and blocks too. It's a pretty deep league and we run 3 IR+ spots. Lots of action/trades/free agency pickups throughout the year.
I couldn't imagine running with only 1 IR+ spot. There's just too many injuries.

#477 1 year ago

More of David Ayres. Filled in for Colbert on the late show when he pulled a hamstring.

Skip to 9:49 of the video.

#479 1 year ago
Quoted from meSz:

Awesome to see this guy live out a dream but can't help but thinking.... if the Canes lost everyone would be making a joke of it at his expense.
What's crazy is the fact that Ovie scoring 700 was, basically, overlooked by this.

I don't think that's true. He would have been forgotten just like the other emergency backups that have played. Everyone is making fun of the Leafs though

But I do agree that this totally overshadowed Ovie's 700th. lol
I don't think he minds that much because he'll be getting another 100 more.

#482 1 year ago
Quoted from meSz:

Ovie probably welcomes it...alleviates him from having to answer the same question over and over again by the media.

I've been saying for 2-3 years now that Ovie is going to slow down. But he just doesn't seem to slow down. He may go through a slump but overall year in and year out he's consistent. All of his stats are insane and he is rarely injured so he never misses games.

How he continues to put up the numbers he does is beyond me. Dude is a beast and that's why I'm confident he will nail the 800 goal mark.

#485 1 year ago
Quoted from meSz:

Looking at the trades yesterday I think we're all missing what Ottawa has done not only with the trades but all the draft picks they have accumulated over the next few years.

A friend mentioned that to me in our hockey pool trash talk yesterday. My reply was "they're sitting pretty as long as Melnyk (the owner) doesn't get involved and screw things up."

He has a tendency of doing that.

#486 1 year ago
#498 1 year ago
Quoted from Jackontherocks:

My friends finally convinced me to play fantasy hockey once again this year after I have stopped playing for many Or several years. I always had the hockey package and watched multiple other teams games including my team the Pens and home team Coyotes. Anyway our league has 12 teams and $150 buy where top two teams get pay out. We just started playoffs and I finished six overall as last spot to make playoffs so was thrilled for first season back. I am already down this week but playoff match up is 2 wks so might have a chance but now Stamkos could be out and I decided not to start Anderson as thought he had a tougher schedule this week but won the other night and Smith lost to Ducks go figure. My team on the left in pics. Any thoughts?[quoted image][quoted image][quoted image]

It's kind of hard for me to give you specific help because I don't know how the stats for your fantasy league work. When you draft are those your players for the year? Or can you add/drop players? Can you trade?

I'll just give you my overall modus operandi for fantasy hockey.

Just to give you an idea, the stats for my fantasy league are G/A/PPP/SOG/Blocks/Hits for skaters. Wins/GAA/SAV% for the goalies. We have 3 IR+ positions and 4 adds per week. The trade deadline for our league was yesterday and the pool playoffs start in 2 weeks.

My first rule is I want players who shoot the puck & that are on the #1 powerplay for their team.
My second rule is I want players that'll be on a team that will be in the playoffs/fighting for a playoff spot come end of the year.
My third rule is don't overload your roster with players from one team. (2 max)
My fourth rule is I don't draft injury prone players.

With that said, I wouldn't have Letang, Nurse, Bergeron, Armia, Ellis or Nelson on my team. I would try to trade them if I had them. But like I said I don't know the details of your fantasy pool so it's hard to give good advice.

This is my team this year. Currently in 2nd place....but 1 point behind first with 2 weeks left.

#504 1 year ago
Quoted from cdnpinbacon:

You watching the Leaf game? 3 3 tie after first with kapenan scrap...Another great game to watch so far not so much for the coaches

Kapanen is finally showing some moxy. I like it.

Battle of Alberta fun fact: Leon Draisaitl has nearly double the amount of points than Calgary's top scorer!

#531 1 year ago

Johnny Boychuk took a nasty skate to the face last night. It was nasty enough to send some shivers down my spine. You never want to see those type of injuries!

#534 1 year ago

90 stitches for Boychuk.

I watched the video a few times and if Boychuk didn't have a visor it would have been much worse. The blade would have kept going up and across his entire face.

I just hope his eyesight isn't affected.

#536 1 year ago
Quoted from luch:

[quoted image]

That is scary!! Looks like it went around the eye too. When was that again?

Update on Boychuk: his eye is fine and his eyelid is the only part that was cut. He said on Twitter that he couldn't login to his phone to give an update because the facial recognition login wouldn't recognize him.

#537 1 year ago

UrinatingTree with some post trade deadline analysis. Gotta love his brutal honesty.

#547 1 year ago
Quoted from Blitzburgh99:

Mario Lemiuex is the only player in NHL history to score 5 goals in every way possible: regular strength, power play, short handed, penalty shot, empty net.
Go Pens!

Quoted from luch:

all in one game !

#549 1 year ago

He really was super. When you go back and look old videos of him on youtube it's amazing how many goals he got with all the holding, clutching and hooking that he would have to put up with in the 80s/90s. Heck, I've seen a video where he had two defencemen almost on his back and he still scored. Just amazing!

#554 1 year ago

MacKinnon out last night with a lower body injury. No update.

And the playoffs for my hockey pool started yesterday. Talk about bad timing. Ugh

#556 1 year ago
Quoted from cdnpinbacon:

How about a pinside playoff pool. Can you set it up like years ago hue?

It wasn't me who set it up. I don't recall who it was. But I think that's something we should do.

#569 1 year ago

Can't start a playoff pool just yet. Need to see what teams make the cut.

It's over guys...just face the reality. The best case scenario at this point would be to start next season on time.

There's talk of extending this season into Sep-Oct & then starting next season in Dec and finish in July 2021. Which is asinine in my opinion.

Just chalk it up to a lockout year and hope for an Oct start for 2020-2021.

No name was given. It was just reported an hour ago or so.

#747 1 year ago
Quoted from cdnpinbacon:

Sorry mainly meant Markov. one of the best russian defenceman ever.

I still think Vladimir Konstantinov was one of the best Russian defencemen. Cut down in his prime 6 days after winning the Stanley Cup with the Wings.

#750 1 year ago
Quoted from TheLaw:

I do.
Even as poorly as the NHL is run, they had to have a plan in place when the inevitability of players testing positive came true. I don't think anyone running any league thinks no player/coach/crew/field/fan etc etc is going to get the Corvis, it's going to happen 100%

I guess I am the most pessimistic hockey fan on this thread, lol

#752 1 year ago
Quoted from Blackjacker:

The Penguins announced today that a player has recovered from COVID-19, but I haven't seen anything where they announced that a player has just tested positive. Link?

*edit, you may be correct. They say recovered but announced it today. Must have waited for him to recover at home before releasing the news.

#755 1 year ago
Quoted from Blackjacker:

Not multiple sources - two articles referencing a single source.
*Announced* Thursday, not diagnosed Thursday. It has not been reported when he was diagnosed. Note that neither of those articles references a source other than the Penguins' official statement from today.
Official Penguins statement says he is "recovered" not "recovering." The second article you linked says also uses "recovered." The use of "recovering" in the first article appears to be a misquote of the Penguins' statement as they reference no other source.
Official statement from the Penguins:

I edited my above post as you are correct. I just woke up after a nigthshift and saw the news. I shoulda finished my coffee first before posting. lol

But i still think the season is done. Not necessarily because of the threat of covid itself...but the logistics of finding a city, bringing everyone in from around the world and then dealing with whatever government restrictions are put in place. Pessimism...it's my nature I guess.

Side note: I know Edmonton has been floated as one of the playoff cities because our covid numbers have been pretty good. But I can't imagine Edmontonians being able to live with the fact that 24 NHL teams will be playing hockey in their city and they can't go watch.

The Leafs can't be called contenders when they lost to a zamboni driver. Lol

Quoted from meSz:

So Vegas idea was axed and they're now looking at Edmonton and Toronto as hub cities.
Again, I cant see this happening with the COVID spiking but if the NHL doesn't complete the season it's stated they will lose upwards of a billion dollars.

Rumours swirling today is Edmonton will be the hub city for the West and Toronto for the east.

Looks like NHL playoff hockey will be happening.....come hell or high water!

#840 1 year ago
Quoted from meSz:

Man I hope so but I just can't see it coming to fruition!
Let me ask this of the Ontario folks .... How is it that Toronto is a hub but yet the baseball team was advised they couldn't play in Toronto and is now playing out of Pittsburgh? Do I have this right or has the CA Medical Maryjane gotten to me?

I think it's because of the border crossings between the Jays/other teams. That's not happening with the NHL. Everything is bubbled into two Canadian cities. No traveling permitted.

And hockey matters in Canada more than baseball...so it gets preferential treatment. Lol

PS - Pittsburgh rejected the jays today.

The jersey and logo looks horrible!

I'm indifferent to the name. But baby blue colors?? Lol

Shoulda went with a green uniform/colors and the fan made logo someone created.

What's plural for kraken? . . . krakens, kraki, krakenses, or just plain kraken?

They do in Edmonton. Saw them at a few Oilers games I attended this year.

Had them in Florida when I went to a Panthers game
Was very weird

Yea...it's lame.

Leafs lose the first game but win the series. That's my prediction.

That's why my Habs tried to steal him!

I remember when the offer sheeted him. Back then I wasn't really sold on the kid....but the more I watch, the more impressed I become with him. I saw him live this year and watching him control the play was impressive. And he's only 23.

I think Lundqvist played his last game as a Ranger yesterday.

#927 1 year ago
Quoted from hwyhed:

It’ll be interesting what the rangers do w ‘the king’ I think that he has a NTC..my local am radio hacks question this morning was ‘if Lungqvist retires, is he the best goalie to never hoist the cup?’ Names like Luongo, Cujo were also mentioned..

He has a NTC and some other clauses where he can't be sent down to the minors.

They'll basically tell him his time is up....ride the pine or accept a trade. Pick your poison Henrik.

It's a shame because he never really got any support while in NY.

#931 1 year ago

The 50/50 for the Oilers game last night was 5.4 million. Someone in Alberta won 2.7 million.

I tried getting tickets yesterday afternoon but they reached their max.

That's crazy for a 50/50!!

#936 1 year ago
Quoted from Meegis:

Wow. That's nuts.
I didn't know they capped it.

The only reason it was capped is because the servers couldn't handle any more purchases.

#943 1 year ago

I like that Dubois kid. He will have some great years in the NHL.

I remember when everyone was praising the Marleau acquisition. Lol

Quoted from Canuck_pinhead:

Defensive games are interesting... if you know what you're watching. Majority wanna see a run and gun game that ends 7-5. I prefer tight games with great defence and goaltending personally.

Trap hockey on full display by the habs.

What is Pierre McGuire gonna do now that he doesn't have Crosby to fellate for the rest of the playoffs?

He'll just move onto someone else. He used to get hard on's for Dion Phaneuf. Lol

Leafs win. And will win the next game. Just like I predicted

The sale of tickets apparently stopped a few hours ago. And the ticker is just catching up to all the sales. I've never seen a 50/50 this big in my life!

This game is playing out just like the Stars drew it up. Go down 3-0, then blast back 6-3. What is happening?
Just happy that Miro is getting some due on the big stage. That kid is ridiculous.

Gurianov has more goals tonite than the entire Flames team!

Marc-Andre Fleury's agent just posted this picture on Twitter. The blade has coach DeBoer's name on it. Lol

I guess we know who is starting between the pipes for Vegas Sunday.

This is probably Fleury's last season with the VGK.

Update Fluery just had it removed from his agent

A very cavalier thing for the agent to do. Especially during a playoff run.

I still think Fleury's time in Vegas is done though.

#1083 1 year ago
Quoted from gambit3113:

He just signed an extension through 2022. Would Seattle grab him if Vegas left him unprotected? That would be funny.

I believe he's a 7 million dollar cap hit. So Seattle poaching him is a very possibility...if Vegas doesn't trade him before then...and they leave him unprotected.

It would be funny if it happened though. It would be the 2nd time Fleury got poached by expansion teams.
