Final rant. TIM AND SID SHOW SUCKS. SID NEEDS TO GO AND FAST
Quoted from ImNotNorm:then starting next season in Dec
Just in time for Flu season (seriously)!
Playoffs are so much revenue so can understand why they're trying here but agree to just cancel and see what happens next season. I can see them starting in July and like a week or two into it players start coming down with COVID and having to cancel.
MLSE raised tickets prices for next season 9% and they want their money starting beginning of june , originally may 8th , the billionaires , got to love them
Quoted from ImNotNorm:The AHL cancelled their 2019-2020 regular season + playoffs on Monday.
The NHL is next...
Realistically needs to happen.
As a Hab fan... the season finished long ago... At least we landed some nice assets for the 'rentals'

As a Pens fan COVID saved the Pens and JR from another embarrassing early exit from the playoffs. In the last three seasons Marcus Pettersson is the only trade that's still making an impact on the team! Time for the Pens to realize that Crosby and Malkin aren't going to make it happen without bigger named players on the team and for the Pens to escort JR to the retirement home.

I politely disagree...Pens have added lots of youth with JR’s trades the past year. Need more time to see how they work out. Next tough call is who stays and who goes? Murray or Jarry?
Quoted from Blitzburgh99:Lemieux vs Gretzky
As a Flyers fan, I have no problem saying Lemieux was better than Gretzky

Like who? The Penguins, going into this season, are the 9th oldest team in the NHL. Their farm team was on the verge of missing the playoffs for the third season in a row before pandemic cancelled the season? As you're aware the farm team was one of the best teams.
Latest acquisitions by the Pens
Conor Sheary - 28
Evan Rodrigues - 27
Patrick Marleau - 41 (aka life support)
Phil Varone - 30
Riley Barber - 26
Jason Zucker - 28
John Nyberg - 24
Kevin Roy - 27
Joseph Cramarossa - 28
Andreas Martinsen - 30
John Marino - 23
So in the past (almost) year they acquired 2 players under the age of 25. Also, during JR's tenure the Penguins have had only one year in which they had a first round draft pick and due to the Penguins, technically, making the playoffs this year the first round pick goes to MN.
Whilst I typically agree with ya Blitz I just don't see it on this one!
Quoted from YZRider926:Usually in October for the regular season.
That's cool. I'm a hockey noob so I didnt know, really love watching it though.

Most of those guys are fill ins. And the deals they made Will help with cap space. These guys are young core:
McCann 23
Blueger 25
Lafferty 24
Guentzel 25
Rust 27
Marino 24
Jarry 24
Aston-Reese 25
Tanev is a young 28
Those are the guys actually playing and contributing. The guys on your list are nearly all rentals/stop gaps. There’s a better mix of young to go with sid/Geno/tanger/horny.

Tip of the cap to you, good sir!

The leafs are like the cowboys of the nfl..worth lots, consistently provide a mediocre team/product, and grossly over shown on the tv..

I feel for you guys with high ticket prices. Lemieux makes tickets in Pittsburgh affordable but also has a payment plan that spans over 6 months with no interest. So if you can't afford all the cash at once you select the payment plan and there's no additional cost.
Back in 1992 I was paying 31$ per ticket. Howard Baldwin bought the team the next season and raised my tickets to 63$ per. In steps Lemieux and he reduces tickets prices, has a payment plan and introduces pay as you go playoff tickets (as a season ticket holder you tell them to send you an invoice at the end of the month for the total number of home playoff games they played). With Baldwin you had to pay for all 16 games for the playoffs by the beginning of March. The Pens could be the 16th team into the playoffs and you had yo pay up front for all 16 games even though you knew they didn't have a chance at being the home team. The Penguins could be eliminated in the first round but Baldwin wouldn't refund your money until the Finals were done. Once done you then requested a refund but they would push you to have the money put towards next season. If you insisted on a refund they dragged it out and basically your refund came two weeks before you season tickets for next year were due!
Today, 17 years later, I pay $89 (2020-21 season) per ticket, If you're familiar with the PPG Paints Arena there are two levels (lower and upper bowl). My tickets are located in the first row of the upper bowl on the Blue Line.
With the way Lemieux runs the Penguins is the reason I am still a season ticket holder.

we have the same payment option too , are your tickets lower bowel ? mine are and i got 6 seats , a 4 pack by the visitors bench 16 rows up , and a 2 pack in the corner 4 rows up , mine cost 275 a seat canadian

Mine are first row of the Upper bowl 124 CAD per seat. Another thing the Penguins do is, when other season ticket holders don't renew their tickets the Penguins send out an email advising current holders that seats have opened up. You go online and can see what tickets are available and if you like them better then what you have you can change your seats. For me, I like being higher up as I like to see the play develop. This pic gives an idea as to the view from my seats.

Believe that Luch? pay those prices for kick ass seats , Crosby and Stanley cups???
Quoted from cdnpinbacon:With New Potential Playoffs .Would Vegas Erase Original Odds? Just curious
You mean void existing wagers?
Division winner wagers would most likely be voided, since it seems there won't be "official" Division champs.
On the Stanley Cup winner itself, no, that's still a valid market. (And one that I'm hoping will pay for a chunk of my JJP GNR):
Quoted from cdnpinbacon:Believe that Luch? pay those prices for kick ass seats , Crosby and Stanley cups???
The only kick in the nuts is ... 5 Cups and I’ve never seen the winning game since all 5 were won on the road! But as someone that thought I’d never see one cup nonetheless 5 I’m not complaining.

Gotta root for my hometown team the Blue Jackets but i can watch any two teams play and enjoy it because hockey is awesome!
24 team format are we all liking it? Hate buys in any sport and why like hockey the best, guess I will have to settle in order to get hockey back. Go Pens
I really don't look at the top 4 as a bye, since they have to play each other to set positions. So I'm good with it and cant wait to see how this plays out
Seat fee should go to the supreme court. What exactly is the seat fee for?? So why doesn't MLSE charge an air fee too?
Quoted from TheLaw:Pens Habs first round...seems normal to me
Series wouldn't even be close. Not sure I would even bother watching ..prob would though

i think you mean PSL personal seat license , it allows you the right to sell the pair on the open market to who ever you want , in toronto uppers are around 80-90 k and lower bowl around 150 k and up . for a pair , and then you buy the season tickets every year

What a scam
Quoted from cdnpinbacon:What a scam
yeah but the waiting list for season tickets is like 80-90 years , original price on PSL's when they started them in 1999 was 40k per pair gold lower bowl , remember the leafs are #2 ,$1.45 bill for NHL value , rangers might be #1 $1.55 bill and this is in 2018
My couch is the best value ticket I can give myself.
Great view, no obstruction, food on call and no bathroom line.
And don't get me started on the commute...
