My first expo was 2016 and the vendor area was pretty weak. I was finally able to make it back to expo this year and was quite impressed with the turnaround.

I’m with you. I spent maybe 20 minutes of an entire Saturday in there.
I have no interest in EM or early solid state games they just seem boring to me.
