Travelling Brisbane to Auckland to San Francisco and then on to Dallas for TPF 2018 with my wife... first time at TPF and looking forward to it soooo much (we have the countdown going as well ) ... if you see a guy with Pinbot tee shirt and an Aussie accent,.. then guess who,.. Ill be there for Barry Ourslers’ talk for sure and to find out what this next CGC remake will be !!

What’s the charge on the Dallas North tollway these days, do they still have booths for cash and is it exact change? Flying in from Aus I need to make sure I have the cash for the toll charge payments ,... Avis wants to sting me rotten if I go thru electronic payment toll booths,..

I hope Tony Romas is still on the corner at Beltline,.. pinball and then some ribs,.. oh yeah!!

Pinball museum and then some ribs!!

We will be at Homewood suites Frisco.. any hints as to whether that is walking distance to Embassy ? Walking a mile or so isn’t a bother,.. otherwise we have a car. Is parking around Embassy easy, or a nightmare while the TPF is on ?

Cool,.. That 8,500 mile trip from Brisbane to Dallas just suddenly started feeling a lot more exciting,.. for us the adventure kicks off March 10th as we make our way there from Australia, and spend a few days in San Francisco,... got the bad news on Tony Roma’s,... just don’t tell me Dickey’s Barbeque is gone as well,.. I want to get more cups.

Holy smoke,.. I hope that’s pic is a recent one from United Airlines,.. I’ll take the upgrade now, just for the furniture option. Will have to get on to QANTAS and Air NZ to up their game !!

The TPF website doesn’t have the list of events and times posted yet. When is it to be updated with who, what and when. I have Barry Oursler, CGC reveal, Lou Ferrigno, on my must do list?
In fact any of the pin reveals I can get to is also on the list.. once I know the event list times.

All because of this little postcard we received with a pack of led's and stuff from Comet Pinball....

In about 13 hours the trip from Brisbane begins , via Auckland, San Francisco, and DFW.
15,578 Km's of travel, (9679 Miles) .. 17 1/2 hours of travelling, couple of days time off in SF and then 3 1/2 hours to DFW and around to Frisco.
Keep a Dr Pepper on ice, and a few beers as well,.. we're gonna need it by the time we arrive!!

After a long and enjoyable flight from Brisbane, through Auckland, and on to SAN Francisco (hells bells this an expensive and fun town) finally get to do the 3 1/2 hours to DFW on Thursday,.. United have had us arriving at 4:30 PM, then 6:30 PM, and now it’s 2:04 PM, so a very early start to the day.... but I can’t wait.

So,.. if you see a couple of Aussie sounding old farts, and one has a Pinbot tee shirt,.. shout out,.. and no,. I’m not bringing supplies of Australian spreads or meats,.. to be honest WW2.3 has almost broken out occasionally in our part of the world over Vegemite being evil in a jar, or gods blessing to mankind. Roo on the other hand,.. makes a very nice burger, so the jerky shouldn’t cause complaints.

Looking fwd to TPF kicking off,.. I’ll be lined up with the “enthusiastic but rubbish” players

After 8 or 9 thousand miles, the wife and I managed to make it in from Brisbane via SFO, all checked in at Homewood Suites. Easy walking distance to the Embassy. Looks like food, and alternative entertainments are being covered off nicely in here, which we are finding very useful. Our originally planned visit to Tony Roma’s for a serious rib sesssion being dropped as they don’t have one here anymore Time to think Texas steak, and then some rest after a 4am start.

While driving in,.. saw a pickup with a strange object on it,.. cruised closer, and it was Bally pin, with translite glass off (looks like a 70’s machine),.. heading in the “right” direction on the 121 about 4.30 pm close to the turn off for Frisco,.. So be interested to know who/what it is!

This is why I wanted to be at TPF,.. for a Pinbot tragic,.. autographs by Barry Oursler !!

Its all over,.. thx TPF 2018, thx Dallas. well worth flying sooooo far from Australia to get to ,.. discovered so many pins we now love,.. Elvis got our agreed top vote,.. Rob Zombie for the multiball thrill,.. ironically we are off to Vegas next !!
