Quoted from NPO:

Just made my reservation with Hyatt.
Let them know you're there for the Texas Pinball Festival after you give them the dates (they'll ask if you're coming for a specific event).
$129 for a King with a fricking full kitchen and dishwasher ....a DISHWASHER in a hotel room? Geez.
$135 for a 2 bed room with kitchen.
Everything is REFUNDABLE up to 3pm the day before.
Hell with Embassy. That's some serious crap. I'll walk my happy ass right across the street and save $50 a night.
Won't be bringing any games, but I will be coming to my first TPF ever !!!!!

Have you never stayed at a Residence Inn or Candlewood Suites? All rooms have kitchens with dishwashers.

Mine get filed for me by my sister at 11:59 pm PDT on the deadline night. Always.

I understand about flying. My sister will no longer fly since 9/11 & the whole TSA thing. She drives to Detroit from San Diego.

Quoted from Whysnow:

plane tickets booked finally (had to wait for the window when prices are more reasonable).
Really looking forward to some good times at TPF.
Probably most excited to see the next Spooky game, followed by seeing the next CGC remake (depending on what it is, we may think about putting one on route?)
Wish I was closer so I could drive and bring a game (may still see if KP has room to transport a game there and back so I can share).
We arrive Wednesday night so if anyone needs help with stuff on Thursday then let me know. I always like lending a hand.

How soon can we expect your insight, tips and suggestions on how the tournament & show can be run better? Will it be similar to what you did at Replay FX? Within nine hours of the tournament starting IIRC.

I found that Waco is a great place to drive through if you're going to Gatesville.

Quoted from pkiefert:

CMG = Circus Maximus Group
Compy is just being silly. Everyone knows we are remaking Raven.
Paul

Was really hoping for Darling/Jubilee....

Quoted from Mk1Mod0:

Here at Winstar performing the annual pre-TPF ritual with all of the traitors...

Those Pac Man slots are made by Ainsworth, an Australian Company being acquired by Novomatic of Austria. The Americas division of Novomatic is headed by a former long-time Bally guy who worked there during the golden era of pinball.

Quoted from 2Kaulitz:

What are some things to go to around TPF when not at the show ?

If you were into the teevee show Dallas, you can tour the Southfork Ranch. Or just drive by to see it. On the east edge of Plano. Without looking it up, I recall the town is Preston, still part of the Plano municipal area.

Also consider touring the Bureau of Printing & Engraving facility on the Northwest edge of Fort Worth. Limited hours and tour slots.
The Sante Fe Railroad museum in Fort Worth is pretty cool.

#1212 6 years ago
Quoted from Frax:

Preston is a road that runs N/S on the west side of Plano/Richardson/Dallas/Frisco. If it WAS at some point a city, it's long since been incorporated, because I've been here my entire life (36 years) and never heard of such a thing.

It's Parker, not Preston.

Another idea would be Six Flags Over Texas in Arlington as it is open. Weather will be nice today-Saturday.

Quoted from DS_Nadine:

Wow, that floor looks messy.
Or is that 60's chic?

Commercial carpet with dirt & spill hiding pattern. Heavy-duty stuff.

Quoted from 85vett:

Made it to Dallas. I know how much y'all like food pics so here you go. No jealousy though for my fancy lunch

I'm heading straight to a Rudy's BBQ when I land at DFW. Wet Brisket is my favorite.

Quoted from NimblePin:

This place is pretty solid...

I plan on eating RotorDave’s portion this time around...

Even though it's a chain?

Quoted from packie1:

Yeah!!! Made it to my first TPF!! Can't wait for Saturday. Visiting with family tonight in Fort Worth. I will stayed glued to this feed for pics and stories!
Mike

Do you by chance work for Great Dane?

Quoted from merccat:

Ha! We packed an empty bag for that very reason. TSA probably thought it was odd but we can’t be the only ones.

I pack a small suitcase with clothes etc. and put that suitcase in a larger one and check it. On the return I check both of them since the larger one is full of goodies.
