Well, I booked a reservation. I first booked online at regular HH rates and then called to apply the TPF rate.
The CSR was able to make the change but said only 2 Queen rooms remain and there was one slot left (not sure if I took the last slot or she meant there was one after me). That seems odd, so hope one of the organizing committee can follow up or comment.
When the change was made my reservation went from cancellable to non-refundable. Never had a reservation so far in the future be non-refundable...
Quoted from Quiddity:Ed replied on Facebook. Thanks to a handful of douchenozzles, we all have to pay a stupid deposit this year. He's checking on the parking fees.
.... frax and I are booked. Completely serious about the selling the room if I need to. *shakes fist*
I can't find the related comment thread on FB. Do you have a link? I can never figure out how to search FB.
Quoted from jkdblaze:Wow, so many cancellations and yet I called them on four different days (close to the show) and they didn't have a single room available for me.
Probably because the hotel didn't realize the others were a no show until Thursday or Friday. Thanks to an insesative few, the rest of us are inconvenienced.
Quoted from labnip:you walk up to bar & tell them what you want (beer, well drinks, wine).
they pour it & give it to you.
you can optionally tip.
then we drink
This is what I recommend:
- tell them what you want
- they pour it
- you drink it, tip them and ask for another.
Quoted from beelzeboob:The Hyatt link isn't working, Ed. And what's the block code?
Hyatt code is TBF2. Put it in the group field.
Quoted from 85vett:I'm seeing $150 a night for the Embassy. Thought it was supposed to be $140. Anyone confirm what the rate should be?
If there are two beds in the room, rate is increased to $150. I changed from 2 Queen beds to 1 King and my rate dropped to $140.
Quoted from labnip:Fast forward to today, I called to ask a couple of questions about the reservation, and the guy mentioned they only had 2 rooms left (total), and they were at the $150+tax rate.
I don't know know about the "only two rooms left" comment. I was told a couple days ago when I made my reservation that there was only one room left and a number of people have obviously booked since then.
I will no longer be able to make it. I have two weekend passes that I will sell for $50 each. Ed will transfer them from my name to yours. PM if you are interested.
