Quoted from Mike_M:First free play pin setup!
Nice to see someone else get there first for a change.
Quoted from DS_Nadine:Wow, that floor looks messy.
Or is that 60's chic?
Commercial carpet with dirt & spill hiding pattern. Heavy-duty stuff.
Quoted from 85vett:Made it to Dallas. I know how much y'all like food pics so here you go. No jealousy though for my fancy lunch
I'm heading straight to a Rudy's BBQ when I land at DFW. Wet Brisket is my favorite.

Rudy’s Is a chain....real Texans avoid chains.....
Skip Rudy’s and check out 3 Stacks...
Sitting at school watching the clock slowly tick through the last period of the day as I get ready to go catch my flight... TPF makes work days feel so much longer than they are

Make the rug ugly enough, no one will look at it long enough to spot the stains.
That is pretty gruesome though. Needs more pins on it.
Similar to what they put in the casinos. Makes me dizzy if I walk across it fast enough. Looks like a rainbow threw up!
Quoted from Nevus:Is the Cidercade gathering still on tonight?
YES. ABSOLUTELY.
I'm at work a few miles away right now. Heading over there soon as I get off at 4.
Just as an aside, admission is paid at the bar at the front right when you go in. I know most people can figure that out, but I'm kind of an idiot when it comes to places I haven't been and not being an extrovert makes simple shit intimidating sometimes. =Þ
I'm wearing my black TPF 2012 shirt. I'll be trying to FRX as many games as I can before other people show up.

Might be a bit later for me. Time depends on when some of my LA group gets in. Do they serve food?
I might could talk them into dinner there.

They don't. You can bring in outside food or order from somewhere to deliver. (But no outside beverages inside..) They occasionally have food truck or two there....last saturday they had a fancy-schmancy hotdog truck. Smelled great, but wife and I went and got ramen at this tiny little standing-room-only place a few miles away.
Pity that Tacodeli closes at 3...they're right there by the ramen place.

I went to Rudy's about 2 years ago on a recommendation from a coworker. Shocked when I realized I was at a place that looked like a BBQ chain and had a freggin drive thru.
However, inside I was greeted with people taking out freshly smoked meats, chopping it up right there, and serving it. Ok, feeling a bit better.
Ribs were just ok. Brisket was surprisingly decent. But the Rudy's chop (basically a cup of all the bits that fall off, chili style) was F'ing amazing. I'd go back just for that.
I'll personally keep going to Railhead in Ft. Worth when I'm in the Dallas area, but in a pinch, I'd hit up Rudy's without any fight at all.
I think next year, if I have the time and money, I'm gonna have to can (Jar, really...but I prefer traditional terminology!) some BBQ sauce and bring it to the show. It's more "Kansas" than "Texas" though.
I've looked over the vendor list. Have a general idea what I'm looking for, but imagine I'm probably missing something and don't want to overlook it. Does anyone know which particular vendors have some recommended mods or anything related to protecting the pin itself? I think I'm going to grab some pinblades, possibly pinstadium lights, maybe PDI glass if I track that down.
Quoted from RyanClaytor:Jady! Are you gonna be at TPF!??!
*Hopeful!!!*
unfortunately NOT
Quoted from NimblePin:This place is pretty solid...
I plan on eating RotorDave’s portion this time around...
Was just there.....!

What time? I may come. The future Mrs may be napping

4p until whenever they close? Midnight?
Rudys..... We have one in Corpus. The best thing they have is the potato salad. Rest is so so.
I should have brought stuff from the king ranch saddle shop to trade.
I have a bunch of hats/koozi's from the Corpus Christi Chapter CCA .
Any interest? Pm me
Quoted from SunKing:Hulk is in the house!!!
He is looking pretty small these days. I'm flexing on him for sure.

I’m at the airport having a cocktail and dinner. Where are you? LOL!
After 8 or 9 thousand miles, the wife and I managed to make it in from Brisbane via SFO, all checked in at Homewood Suites. Easy walking distance to the Embassy. Looks like food, and alternative entertainments are being covered off nicely in here, which we are finding very useful. Our originally planned visit to Tony Roma’s for a serious rib sesssion being dropped as they don’t have one here anymore Time to think Texas steak, and then some rest after a 4am start.
While driving in,.. saw a pickup with a strange object on it,.. cruised closer, and it was Bally pin, with translite glass off (looks like a 70’s machine),.. heading in the “right” direction on the 121 about 4.30 pm close to the turn off for Frisco,.. So be interested to know who/what it is!
Quoted from labnip:Loaded up world’s first fully 100% transparent pinball machine.
Drop me a line if you need help unloading.

Already got it taken care of...
Am I the only one who wants to throw a few back with our aussie guests?
I think I may miss out due to not hitting tpf friday night..
Perhaps this may be a reason to get rooms close to the event next year...
Quoted from Pinless:Let us know if they fixed the right flipper rubber on Houdini. It was broken on Monday night
It's fine right now.
