Did you mail your application & app fee in to Centerflank in triplicate?
Quoted from Nevus:Definitely there Thurs-Sun. Not yet booked.
Get to booking, or no soup for you !!
Quoted from Alamo_Pin:Looks like the Embassy Suites is booked up. No rooms.
try again... try again...
Quoted from ita47:Only 199 days until TPF 2017!!! Great show every year, I can't wait!
199 bottles of beer on the wall, 199 bottles of beer...
Quoted from Titan_Pinball:I'm bringing a LOT of rings for sure, shirts, our "Little Box of Calm" Hardware assortments, Tilt-o-Meters, Lock bar finishers and a couple surprises. I'm sure I'll bring some LED's too. I guess that is almost everything!

oh snap
Quoted from jGraffix:Give us a good booth location and count Tilt Graphics Inc. in as one of the vendors.
at TPF, they are all good locations.
i'm thinking of renting out my hotel room's floor space. $400/night/person.
if i stack up the furniture in the living room, we can probably get at least 20 people in there.
that's $400 * 20 = $8,000/night. If i just do that for 2 nights, that could buy a pin + delivery
Quoted from Ed_in_Texas:When you hear the name Elvira, only one person comes to mind...
Horror icon and quintessential symbol of all things spooky, the one and only Mistress of the Dark. Played by actress/writer Cassandra Peterson, Elvira has carved out a niche in popular culture that is sure to endure for decades to come.
We’re excited to announce that Cassandra Peterson will be appearing, as herself, at the 2017 Texas Pinball Festival! Ms. Peterson will join pinball designer Dennis Nordman and artist Greg Freres in a special forum on Saturday discussing their work together on “Elvira and the Party Monsters” and “Scared Stiff”. This marks the first time ever that Dennis, Greg and Cassandra will sit on a panel together to reminisce and answer questions. DO NOT MISS IT!

A hepteract has 128 vertices.
128 is the only 3-digit number that is a 7th power (27).
Code 128 is a Uniform Symbology Specification (USS Code 128) alphanumeric bar code that encodes text, numbers, numerous functions, and designed to encode all 128 ASCII characters (ASCII 0 to ASCII 127), as used in the shipping industry.

Quoted from Mk1Mod0:Gauging interest in remade EM machine backs. I am adding them to the lineup of Third Coast Pinball but the cost to ship them is insanely high. Delivering to TPF, however, would be free. $25 per includes lock hole. And I'll be making a form explaining the nesc measurements needed, etc.
Shawn
Third Coast Pinball and Graphics
man, could probably sell a ton of those. great idea
Quoted from rkahr:All,
This week I announced new monitoring indications in the Pro version of my WPC Power Fix Daughterboard (details here: https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/announcing-new-product-to-help-resolve-resets-in-wpc-era-games/page/9#post-3519493). I also noted that 2016 Edition Pro Daughterboards can be upgraded with the new monitoring software at shows I attend (3 posts later in that thread). So, if you are coming to Texas and bought a Pro in 2016, bring it to my booth for the upgrade! If you bought one and aren't planning to come to Texas, perhaps this is another piece of evidence to help change your mind? See you there...

-visit http://www.kahr.us to get my daughterboard that helps fix WPC pinball resets or for my Pinball 2000 H+V video sync adapter kit

Quoted from chadderack:Looks like I'm going...
But I'd better get to meet THIS guy
or this guy
or it's not worth going!
haha...
i'll have a booth this year
Quoted from Beyndtstng:Thanks Marcus, is there any place around that would have a collection of Bally/Williams mixed with stern?
TPF
Quoted from PunkPin:The guy who hasn't been unlocked yet
total Level 6 kind of stuff.
Quoted from Silverballer:Flash Gordon is going to be there??? Awesome. I love you Flash but I only have 14 hours to drive to Texas, win the big tournament and save Earth.
Lapnip, I am stoked that you will have your BM there. I wouldn't dare ask to play it but could I maybe just stand next to it? I am willing to submit a video application if necessary.
yes. $40 to stand next to it.
Video Application in triplicate required in advance.
Another $20 and you can get your picture with it, but you can't sell the picture for 18 months afterwards
Quoted from Nevus:What if the picture involves a midget wrestler and a donkey?
that's the booth next to mine.
Quoted from Titan_Pinball:Bringing afm gb sc blackout so far. We have a booth and will be selling a complete line of products, shirts and our new pin mats! You can also preorder and pick up at the show with no shipping. Hope I get to play some pinball!
those mats are insane.

Current March 24 - 26, 2017 Weather Forecast in Dallas during TPF:
FRI 3/24:
• 63° /45°
• Overcast
• Historic Avg. 71°/50°
SAT 3/25:
• 67° /45°
• Partial sunshine
• Historic Avg. 71°/51°
SUN 3/26
• 63° /49°
• Mostly cloudy
• Historic Avg. 72°/51°
not to worry... if it ever says "a little rain", it means drizzle for 30 minutes at some random point during day or night.
plus, it's tejas, the weather changes every hour here, and this forecast is 2 months out. Just the temp is the useful part.
...and, the pins & vids are inside
Bring jackets & jeans for night excursions & cigar sessions.
Some years jackets needed, some years nope.
Quoted from rotordave:Thanks for all the tips!
Meat for allllllllllllll
Widening the horizon, any more recommendations around the whole of Texas? We will be hitting most of the main areas on the 3 week trip ...
rd
I know a great place in Brownsville
Austin, Texas has pinball machines coming outta our ears.
Pins are everywhere at locations in town. Austin has strong/healthy sized tournament events at multiple locations.
Austin even has it's own Pinball Manufacturing company, Multimorphic.
But, I'd say there's a stronger (more social & larger collector) pinball community in Dallas, then in Houston, then Austin. And a few in San Antonio.
ps. Waco, Texas has a seriously wacked-out history. A few examples:
a. ) heavily armed religious nuts vs tanks
b. ) heavily armed biker gangs vs each other
Would recommend gassing up in Dallas and just driving right on through to Austin.
It's still the wild-wild west out here. yippie-ki-yay
Quoted from rotordave:Maybe it'd be better if it was called "Wacko"?
I watched a comprehensive doco on the Branch Davidians a few months back. Pretty mucked up!
Look forward to checking it out!
rd
That's how we pronounce it
Quoted from Ed_in_Texas:The TPF2017 Commemorative Challenge Coin is now available! Only 100 were minted. Shipping is available or we can add it to your 2017 order for pick up at the show!
http://texaspinball.com/tpf/tpfstore/#!/2017-Commemorative-Challenge-Coin/p/78705561/category=1009083
These coins are totally awesome.
I have several years of them.
Quoted from Frax:I was around 400 at one point recently. Let's be honest though... would I really be satisfied with winning B division? No, other Frax, I wouldn't.
y'all coming this year?
Quoted from rkahr:Feels like about a million... and then on Sunday it feels like the show was only 15 minutes long.
-Rob
-visit me at TPF! or at http://www.kahr.us to get my daughterboard that helps fix WPC pinball resets or for my Williams system 3-7 sound board potentiometer solutions
^^ true that
Quoted from Frax:We have reservations for the hotel. I'm trying to figure out how to actually pay for it...
(part of the reason I'm at work doing 12 hours of overtime today.)
rent out the living room part of your hotel room
anyone in philly area who can bring 6 games with them down towards the carolinas, florida or texas any time soon?
Quoted from rotordave:Anyone's brother or uncle own Thrifty or Alamo car rentals? Lol
Need a car out of Houston for 3 weeks ... anyone got any hook ups, let me know.
Cheers
rd
someone could unofficially loan you their corporate account name/code, and you could get down to like $40/day.
need some help or creative ideas...
know a lady driving up to TPF on her own from out of state.
need to figure out low cost (and safe) accommodations for her.
any ideas/recommendations?

don't forget to bring your towel to tpf!
I wish TPF lasted all week!!
I wish I could make an ice skating rink out of it in the winter to skate on, then melt in the spring & drink it.
Quoted from mario_1_up:Is the swap meet on Friday morning worth going to?
Yeah, but sometimes sleeping wins out after a long night of unspeakable acts
Quoted from Frax:Oh, you're the chode that vomited on my friend's Shadow, then?
well duhhh.... i though everyone had seen the video by now
Quoted from Ed_in_Texas:COME AND FLIP IT

Quoted from Quiddity:I'm happy to see an awesome shirt that's NOT on black for a change. White's always my preference, but grey is a decent compromise. Now, pink... TOTALLYWOULDHAPPEN.

Hey... my pleasure. Thought she would like that
Can't wait to see the movie. Everyone's very excited !!!
Quoted from Blitzburgh99:Stop at The Game Preserve in Spring and Bucees in Madisonville on your way up 45. Get the Hill Country Bohemian Garlic Beef Jerky at Bucees to live on all weekend!!!!
True That ^^
Quoted from PunkPin:This will be my first year going to TPF, very excited. Does anyone have any advise for payment methods accepted by vendors or carrying cash?
credit cards & cash
Quoted from Frax:One thing I've never been accused of is having a girly touch.
don't be so modest hamburgler
Quoted from Ed_in_Texas:If you are coming to TPF, please support the TPF vendors and sponsors. They pay good money to bring you their products by buying vendor space, web links, and ads in the show program (which helps pay for this huge show and keeps weekpass pricing for guests low).
http://texaspinball.com/tpf/vendors/vendors2017/
What he said ^^
for $500/night, you can sleep in the living room portion of my hotel room at the event.

Flyer and keychain prices on eBay are insane. I think someone was selling flyers and keychains for $3 each at York pinball show this year!
you need more than 1 day.
there's more to see & do than can be squeezed into the weekend. it really should run all week (hint hint)

it's gunna be yoouuuuuggge!
Quoted from Pinball-is-great:You/we are not even at TPF yet, but I already feel like we need to thank you for all the time and effort you have putting into this years TPF. I can appreciate how much it takes to bring multiple machines to an event like this, get a large enough truck, etc.
Please don't throw you back out moving/loading/unloading all those machines. Could make TPF a bummer if you have to stay hunched over all weekend due to back problems.
.
thanks
funny you mention that... i blew my nose on saturday & tore something in my back what the heck...
but, been taking it easy since then & it's pretty much better now. crazy crazy
Quoted from ita47:Will any of the vendors have any flipper coils for sale? I need a Williams FL-15411 and I don't have time to order one.
probably, as long as it isn't too rare. even in those cases, ya never know
Quoted from beelzeboob:I'll miss you this weekend, Double B...keep the pics coming so I can live vicariously through you and be wickedly jealous. Have a great time and take care of that back...

That sounds cool, will there be a prototype?

Labnip, you should start a new thread for photos this year. Everyone could contribute.
I'll be there Thursday by noon!
