I already contacted robin about the issue (yesterday afternoon), and it should be corrected now. there was a glitch for a 10-15min period and pointers to thread topics got messed up. they self-correct once you re-visit the [correct] threads

my secret santa gift arrived yesterday just as I was leaving for pinball league night so the pre-xmas unboxing had to wait until this morning

now why would I send myself something? unless it was from future me that went back into the past and landed in virginia by mistake

apparently, santa has access to a buttload of tape and spared no expensive to ensure that this parcel was securely wrapped and no carrier foolish enough could attempt to "steal" its contents without me knowing. (note to self: purchase stock options for the 3M company adhesives division)

2 hours later... with the use of a hacksaw blade, an x-acto blade and a laser I finally have the outer wrapping off

the way that I see it is this:
this thread and its event were started a little over a month ago (nov 11th). the constant (and almost daily) posts and replies for the opening of received gifts is what makes this thread enjoyable to keep returning to and reading

and while I understand that some people are "holding out" until xmas to open their gifts, I think that the majority (if not all of us) are going to be wrapped up with our immediate families, rather than log onto pinside and see what these people received [weeks prior] and their reactions to their gifts

it's for that reason why I've been [thumbs down]ing those who have received the gifts but not giving in, opening and sharing photos of their presents with the rest of us

those thumbs down will be reversed once the parcels are opened as I've stated before

I take the whole thumb principle is just to show that I don't agree with something that was stated

I bought a few of those magnetic parts dishes at pinball shows before realizing that I could get them for "free" (using the coupons) from HF
and surprisingly, the HF ratchet wrenches are nicer and more comfortable than their craftsman, husky and snap-on counterparts

I long for my old postal carrier who actually deposited all of my parcels in the huge rubbermate container that I have on my deck (for that specific reason) and would sign for my express mail stuff so that I didn't have to journey up to the post office to collect it the next day!

my new temporary carriers can't even both to shut the lid when it's pouring down rain, so I get to come home to a mailbox full of sopping wet mail
