Sitting at Amsterdam Schiphol airport waiting for a flight home, eating a filet-o-fish.

Do you know what they call a Filet-o-fish in Holland?
    They call it a filet-o-fish.
I guess fish is not on the metric system.

    The sandwich of the beast.

Mc Donald's needs to donate to pinside.
This thread is making them a lot of money.

    Quoted from Kkoss24:

It’s late ,it’s raining ,I traded dinner for margaritas so I can’t drive ,but it’s calling me .I’m in a battle for my soul ,it’s either knock out early (long work week ) or put a rain suit on and walk the 2 miles for the golden beauty .My tummy is really mad at me right now .Or…. it’s a good night to teach my 13 year old how to drive ? There is no good outcome here .

    My lord, It’s amazing.

    #333 2 years ago
    Quoted from ImNotNorm:

Thanks a lot!! Now I'll have that jingle in my head all day!!

I tormented the office today with this song.

    #334 2 years ago

Heres the lyrics is anyone is interested:

    Gimme back that Filet-O-Fish
    Gimme that fish (Hoo!)
    Gimme back that Filet-O-Fish
    Gimme that fish
    What if it were you
    Hanging up on this wall?
If it were you in that sandwich
You wouldn't be laughing at all!
    So gimme back that Filet-O-Fish
    Gimme that fish (Hoo!)
    Gimme back that Filet-O-Fish
    Gimme that fish (Hoo!)

This is turning into an owners/club thread.

    Quoted from tomdrum:

I learned as a teenager, if it smells like the empty FOF fryer vat, run.

What if it tastes like chicken?

    Quoted from gonzo73:

    Aaarrrgghhh!!!!!
    Damn your fishey eyes.
    I did it again.
    Onions added.

I like to think that real American hero Charles Ramseys sandwich of choice is the Filet-O-Fish.

    #392 2 years ago

    Oh sweet memories.

Forgot to mention that sandwich cost me $5.20 CDN.
    Sandwich only.

Ode! This is the first one I’ve been pissed at in a long time .Impossible to center after the fact .Everything else was perfect ,minus the last bite that was missing 1)Fish 2)Cheese 3)Sauce
    [quoted image]

You could always ask for cheese on the side.

    Just an FYI.
If you are traveling or catching a connecting flight through Phoenix Sky Harbor airport.
The McDonalds in terminal 4 does not carry the Filet-O-Fish.

    From McDonald’s Belgium menu…
    [quoted image]

I would have thought they would use a waffle for a bun in Belgium.

    #543 2 years ago
    Quoted from tomdrum:

This beats the FOF, Popeyes Cajun Flounder Sandwich. Got without pickles.
    [quoted image]

You need to start your own thread for that.
    This is the Filet-O-Fish thread.

    2 weeks later
    #667 2 years ago
    Quoted from CaptainNeo:

what the hell is a FOF? Is that like a prison fifi?

Well, I suppose it’s your sandwich and you can do with it what you like.
    Seems a bit extreme though.
Hopefully you don’t eat it afterwards.

    #671 2 years ago

There should be a pinside achievement for ordering a Filet-O-Fish and posting pictures of it in this thread.
    Somebody should PM Robin.

    #682 2 years ago
    Quoted from skink91:

I was worried someone would try to outdo me when I said I would get 3 earlier… and wanted to also set the bar here (as the OP).
    Git some FoF!
    [quoted image]

A man after my own heart washing it down with orange soda.

    #696 2 years ago
    Quoted from skink91:

I always get the orange Hi-C at McDonalds… I think it is a fond childhood memories sort of thing.

    Agreed.
I have a fond childhood memory of taking a school field trip to McDonalds and we got to see how everything worked. At the end we all got food and Orange Hi-C. Went to a couple birthday parties as a kid there as well and it was the same sort of deal. There’s something nostalgic and refreshing about it.

    #707 2 years ago
    Quoted from Dee-Bow:

    * turns out i was able to adjust the fish patty to the center of the bun without any help!

I think with the assist I would give it an 8.9

    #720 2 years ago
    Quoted from beelzeboob:

    That was done already.
    [quoted image]

Those take longer to eat though.
A Filet-O-Fish can be devoured in 3-4 bites.

Didn’t ask for double cheese but I got it.
Feeling pretty lucky, Might go buy a lottery ticket.

I’m not going to lie, I had to take a moment to gaze upon its magnificence before I ate it.

    #765 2 years ago

Does anyone else have the talking fish song pop into their head every time they click on this thread?

    #779 2 years ago

That looks like a boilerplate response to me.

    #820 2 years ago
    Quoted from ImNotNorm:

I like Tom Petty. Rumor is he enjoys FoFs too. Actually eats them and isn't a poser.
Not sure about his ketchup usage though.

I’m pretty certain Tom Petty hasn’t eaten a FoF in years.
I suppose you can bust out a ouija board and ask him though.

    #861 2 years ago
    Quoted from Kkoss24:

I’ve lost 16 lbs on my wife’s natzi diet and she asked me to go pick up our oldest from practice .I said “of course” and had a plan .You know what I’m talking bout ! It’s just how I remembered ! Golden bun,Centered properly and a delight viewed from the side ! Oh how I’ve missed you !
    [quoted image][quoted image][quoted image]

I’m on a diet as well.
It involves drinking coffee until about 10:30am, then eating whatever the hell I want for the rest of the day.

Damn nice looking sandwich by the way.
    Good choice.

    #871 2 years ago
    Quoted from TitusPullo:

My FoF from yesterday. I think they may of over steamed the bun. Additionally, the placement of the components was suboptimal.
    [quoted image]

    Quoted from Bryan_Kelly:

That top bun looks like a nut sack.

I was thinking it looked like my fingers and toes after I spent a few hours in the pool.

    #879 2 years ago
    Quoted from sliprose:

Buy one get one FoF turned into a double...

    Quoted from Jaybird815:

You always have the nicest buns.

As a “buns sort of guy” I’ve been kind of blessed.
I like them nice and round and wrinkle free.
Firm in appearance but soft and squishy to the touch.

    #905 2 years ago
    Quoted from Budman:

That one on the right is perfection. How was the cheese placement and tartar slathering?

The one on the left had cheese placement that hung out slightly further on the back so I lost a small portion of cheese to the side of the box. Other than that they were both perfect

    #910 2 years ago
    Quoted from Jaybird815:

It depends on how many of us get these bad boys in our stockings!
    [quoted image]

My mom would put these in our stockings.

    #917 2 years ago
    Quoted from golfingdad1:

You Boys are single handedly keeping the FoF on the Menu !!!!

    God I hope so.

Reporting in from Palm Desert California.
One is pretty well made with good placement, the other is a cheese fail.
I’ll try my luck again once I cross the Arizona state line.

    Quoted from iamdrunker:

Next time your passing by give me a holler!

My parent live in Orange County and I tent to store machines I buy at Captains auction and other places in their garage until I can drive out there and pick them up. A couple times a year I make the drive out there to pick up machines. Pretty much a straight shot on the 10.

    #941 2 years ago
    Quoted from tullster:

Had some last minute Christmas errands to run and decided to stop for a quick FoF lunch. Long line at the drive thru, so I didn’t want to jinx the order with any modding tricks. I normally avoid fries, but my dining companion begged for me to add them to the order.
Not crispy hot, lackluster placement and pretty sloppy on the tartar give a grade of 7 each. Despite the poor grade, it hit the spot and the fries got the wag of approval.
    [quoted image]

I’ll bet that bite covered in tartar sauce was amazing.

Still have the 40 year old tie.
    [quoted image]

I’m betting if I wore a suite into a Mc Donald’s and wore that tie they would make me the quintessentially perfect Filet-O-Fish

    What are you offering?

    Does $50 get it done?

    #1141 2 years ago

Mine is way nicer than this mess:
    ebay.com link: itm
    $65 takes it with shipping.

Send me a PM with your payment info and details and I’ll deal with it when I’m sober.

    #1145 2 years ago
    Quoted from tomdrum:

Payment info sent. Best to do that now before you sober up. Make me eat my 1st FOF in 2 years. In fact, I'll order a double. 2 patties on one bun. Challange accepted?

    Payment sent.
I’m going to rock a suite and wear this tie next time I order a FOF and demand they make it perfect.
    Will report back.

    #1148 2 years ago
    Quoted from tomdrum:

God love you! BTW it's a suit. A suite has a 2nd room or a kitchen.

To be fair I have fat fingers and I’m typing on an iPhone while intoxicated.

    Quoted from punkin:

    You go rock star!
Some talk the talk, some walk the walk.
A video would be fuking ace!
Get your wife to do it and if we hear her talking to herself about how fucking stupid this is to amuse a bunch of old men on an internet site, you win the internet.

Wife’s got a good sense of humor and would totally be down.

    #1153 2 years ago

You don’t think I bought it just because I’m drunk do you?
I mean, that’s a contributing factor, but there’s a bigger plan in motion.

    #1164 2 years ago

    Quoted from Electrocute:

Worked at Sea World in ‘78, Captain’s Den to be exact. (Got time to lean, got time to clean) Who forgets their first job? Great times! From what I can remember, gas was 55 cents per gallon and a burger at McDonald’s was 25 cents, 35 cents for the cheeseburger.

I was always fascinated that they sold fish stick at sea world in the food concession areas.

    #1339 2 years ago
    Quoted from tullster:

My lunch included a FoF salute to my freezing brothers out on the ice in search of their own fishy goodness. I wish I was out there with ‘em, but for today, I’m enjoying watching them from a distance while indulging in my nice warm truck!
