I’ve tried it and it’s pretty good, much better than the slivered which overwhelm the FOF in my opinion.
I am mistaken about the blue wrapper debacle (it's been a few months since I had a FOF).
I looked back a few pages at some of my prior FoF photos and they all came in a cardboard box.
My mistake - carry on!

You know what I think is funny? I noticed you only posted on Pinside 150 times in 5 years which is low compared to most. I checked what you post about out of curiosity. 135 out of 150 posts in the FOF thread?! Lol. Now that is dedication! I dig it!

You Magnificent Bastards, its been six months, but I'm back, i was gonna head into town for Cigarettes, then I saw this stupid thread pop up again.
The ketchup Hethans drove me away... but I'm back, now I'm headed into town for cigs and two FOF Onions added.
I'll report results soon.
Lord Poseidon calls me back.....
Looks decent , construction is lackluster, Lord Poseidon would cast his chef in the Crakens cage for this mess.
View from my deck is prettier than the FOF's.
Added Onions and pickles for a change.
Taste is spot on though.

Either they were overcooked or were cooked in old fryer oil. That darker brown filet should be golden brown..

McDonalds has priced themselves out of the “junk food” market. I’ve been a steady customer of Panera Bread, Chilis, Jersey Mikes and so on. It’s a couple of bucks more but the food is better.
I do like the Filet of Fish, but $2.50 for a small order of fries? (it’s a gamble, 50/50 chance I feed them to the garbage can or the parking lot birds)
I can get a counter meal at the pub with a chicken snitty, chips and salad etc for the same price as 2 x FoF, a large fries and small shake. Or i can have roast of the day, bangers and mash etc.
Counter meal is served on a plate with a knife and fork.
Lunch special from the Chinese takeaway is $5 cheaper than the golden arches too.

Sorta, that's usually a pork schnitzel here and called Vienna Schnitzel.
Chicken is served with salad and chips and is a summertime staple at the pub meal scene.
This would be $12-15. You could get a beer with it for the same price as the FoF order that i place when i'm on a road trip.

The best shnitzel I have ever eaten was rabbit shnitzel over mashed potato, topped with blue cheese cole slaw.

FOF I bought last week was $5.08 with tax! So yeah, they are getting crazy price wise. And yet a McDouble with fries a large drink is $4.24 with tax.
In perspective, in 1976 when I worked at McD's a FOF was .45, a gallon of gas was .60 and I made minimum wage of $2.30 an hour.
