    Happy Friday, fellow filet-o-ficcianados! Todays offering for your consideration…two FoFs purchased at exactly 100 PM earlier today. The one on the left was a looker, the other just a bit bunwrinkly. Both were hot and delicious, nothing extraordinary to report. Almost 9 bucks for just the two sandwiches though, jeez.

    That’s the second time I’ve heard this phrase in this thread. Is it a local thing to call it a “basket of fries”? I’ve worked at McDonald’s years ago, and unless things changed, a basket of fries would fill at least 3-4 large fry containers and probably more depending on how many were dropped in the fryer in the basket.

    It's maybe as many fries as the large used to be. You don't get the amount of fries as years ago and prices have crept up. No small fries for a dollar anymre they are over $2. The basket is mid $3 and not really in a basket, but one of those cardboard trays.

    Look how nicely placed that fish is when they put the cheese on top. No way for the fish to stick to the lower bun. Did you ask for the cheese on top?

    The fuck is an sauce and what has it got to do with Szechuan food?

    I have spent weeks in Chengdu and other parts of Szechuan and never heard of it. The only refence google has is a totally Japanese sauce for fish?

    Cheese on top, toasted bun and both were absolutely inedible. Bloated dead alligators have washed up in the yard that smelled better. Zero stars.

    I think they just want to hide the fact that there is only a half slice of cheese under there.

    So I set them out behind the barn to see if the feral cats would turn their nose up to them as well! Missed meal turns into a fun experiment.

    It’s Szechuan sauce for nuggets. It was around when Disney released Mulan animated movie. Then a few years back Rick and Morty made it a part of the story line so they brought it back limited then at random I noticed it this week. Why it’s says AN I have no clue.

    My favourite part of China, my favourite food. Trouble is they are in love with the offal, i don't do offal. Sechuan food in the northern coastal strip is more to my taste in Beijing etc. There you can get your hot pot with actual meat. I think in Chengdu, the export all the meat and just keep the offal.
    Every corner stall has jerky though, maybe that's what they do with the meat?

    Hotpot restaruants are ace. You order your dipping food by weight and it's brought to your table where the pot boils on the table ready for dipping. Superfuckinghot on one side and Prettyfuckinghot on the other side of the wok.

    Convinced me, it's hotpot tonight or tomorrow. My bowels will forgive me in a few days.

    Here's a new one. I went to McD's last night for a FoF indulgence and was told that they ran out.

    Perhaps the 2 for $6 deal is resulting in a greater-than-normal spike in demand.

    Reading that advertisement more closely (and scrutinizing the picture), it doesn't appear that the bun was steamed back then. It even looks a bit dry in the photo.

    Note the text "caught between two halves of a warm, fresh-baked bun..." -- nothing about steam or steaming noted in the ad.
