    Quoted from kst8cat:

There is a feature on Vegas called "Catch Up" where if you are in a multi-player game it will allow the person with the lower score to catch up and tie the score of the person who had the higher score to begin with. So if you are having a terrible game and your buddy is playing lights out then you could luck out and hit that selection. Then it comes down to whoever plays the better game from that point forward. Can be lots of fun with friends. I could see that going over well during a sanctioned tournament, haha.

Friend of mine recently got a Cactus Jack's and it has this feature too. It's a fun feature when actually playing head to head FOR FUN but at the same time has potential to invalidate the high scores, IMO, or not ok for tournaments (like you said).
