Quoted from ibis:Is there a set for Stern Meteor?
He should have template - he made mine.
I can use a set for Meteor, if that can be put into the que. Do I message you directly or is posting here good enough?
Quoted from Mathazar:I'm in the "queue" (unconfirmed) for Meteor as well, hopefully, via a message to TaylorVA last month.
Maybe he can knock out all the Meteors for us in one batch?
Message sent! Were you going to go black or a different color?
Quoted from ibis:Message sent! Were you going to go black or a different color?
I've gone back and forth a few times between purple and black. I'm back to black now....
On my Meteor, I went with a dark blue. I don't have them installed yet, though - PF swap will come later this year.
Quoted from bobbyconover:I came here to ask the exact same question!
I'll give you $40 to send him your set for him to reproduce.
I’m still a week out from firing up production, after Labor Day weekend, and it looks like my material supply issue has finally been sorted out. I think I should have stock to make about 60 sets of rails as of Sept 1st.
I am still going through emails, but if I haven’t contacted you please reach out again. I get a lot of email and it’s hard to manage what’s been made and what’s a new order.
PLEASE…..
When ordering have the game you want in the subject along with the date you send the email. I think that will help me keep things a bit more sorted.
Thank you to everyone that has patiently been waiting, I’m looking to buy a Godzilla this fall so the table saw will be humming.
Using Pinside mail is generally fine, but you can also reach me at [email protected] if you contact me through both lmk so I don’t make duplicates, that happened last year.
Picture is just to remind people of what I do.
Quick update.
I have orders for 35 sets of rails and feel comfortable with the stock I have to fill those orders. Once I get those milled I’ll open back up my orders queue. Plan is to start back in the shop Tuesday after Labor Day weekend.
I drive my kids to school and pick them up in the afternoon so have a window of about 3 1/2 hrs a day to work in the shop. I will post update pics of what Im working on so most of you get a sense of what’s going on.
Humidity is always a delicate thing around this time so hoping to have all 35 sets ready for finishing so I can do them when I have a good low humidity window.
Have a great weekend and be safe.
Notches made. Pretty tame batch tbh, I’ve been doing a lot of Solid states and the tapered slots are usually the biggest grind. Because of so many multiples: 4xIJ, 4 wh20, etc it’s been relatively quick to get to this point. Next is the tedious task of transferring all holes for predrilling, not going to lie, it’s by far the most time consuming part of rhe process. Hope to have them done by Friday.
Ps- If anyone has a spare PAPA hat they’d like to sell me I’d be indebted to you. Mine has seen better days.
Looking good, I think I see my couple of sticks tucked in there somewhere. Glad the humidity is cooperating!! Perfect timing with Godzilla just being teased.
Just want folks to know I’m in the shop sanding. This takes a couple days which works out as the humidity has spiked again. Should have this batch ready for finish by Friday.
I know I’m behind on responding to a couple emails I received this weekend, give me day to get caught up.
A couple things: I do NOT have Banzai Run rials. I need to have set shipped in.
I also don’t have a physical HS backboard in the shop and used customer provided drawings to make the one last year. I really need one to copy as I’m not 100% confident that the drawings are a match.

I'll cover half the cost of a set of rails for any owner of Banzai that sends a set in for reference.

I think I have a set coming in. Will update if that happens.
Was able to get this most recent batch sanded and ready for finish today. Looks like weather might cooperate and drop the humidity starting this weekend.

Incredible work! We all appreciate it!
Quoted from jazc4:Incredible work! We all appreciate it!
Yep! I take a few moments to soak in the beauty of these rails every time I play my game with them.
So of course now all the games need em!
Shipped off 10 sets of unfinished rails today.
Looks like humidity will finally break this upcoming week so will try to add a couple more sets to this batch prior to starting the finish process when it does.
Have a great weekend.
Just wanted to touch base about orders in the shop. This upcoming week is going to be pretty high humidity until Friday. I can’t spray lacquer when humidity is above 70% so will be working on milling and drilling some new orders to add to this current batch.
As of Friday it looks like a run of decent days so will do my best to crank out the finishing process.
A set of Cyclone rails are now in the template library.
Got into the shop to add a couple sets to this bath prior to humidity cooperating.
Also Banzai Run rails are headed my way.
Cyclone, HS, TAF, Centuar, Xenon and a single Sorcerer rail were milled today. Will get them drilled and sanded over the next 2 days.

The problem with not taking payment until your product is finished is that you don’t get paid until your product is finished.
NO MORE ORDERS WILL BE STARTED…
….until I get this batch done, but with that said I did just go bust out a set of TSPP and Taxi rails to get into this batch.
Thanks for all the work.
Quoted from dmacy:We will get you that Godzilla.
Thanks Taylor as always.
Me heading into the shop in the morning to spray some rails.
These all have 3 coats of lacquer. Will sand with 220 and then hit with finishing coats over the next couple of days.
Once these are done I have 5 sets in custom colors or natural stains to finish up for this batch. I always do those last.

Sanded all sets today. I’ve started finishing coats, just didn’t take a pic. E371C24B-0AD9-4449-8B0B-7C131CC5BA74 (resized).jpeg
I don’t know how many sets there are, but all the black ones have been finished with 3 coats of lacquer, sanded, and then a final 3 coats. Will let these sit this week and will begin to avoid end of this week or early next week as I have shipping tubes coming in.
Quoted from hisokajp:better not mix them up by accident
Sorting them out prior to shipping is always fun, usually have to dig out a couple sets to make sure they are all going to the correct homes.
Is the texture on the rail simply the lacquer getting sucked into the wood grain? Just curious, not asking for you to reveal trade secrets.

I see u made your own top to your Solo Stove. Nice. I just got one. It’s great!
Quoted from Apex:Is the texture on the rail simply the lacquer getting sucked into the wood grain? Just curious, not asking for you to reveal trade secrets.
Yes, it settles in as it dries leaving a look similar to the faked grain on the vinyl the original rails were wrapped with.

We love it. Oak rail scraps burn hot!

Working oncustom dye jobs and natural finish.
Front to back: LOTR(dark purple), Wh20, Meteor(lighter purple), HS and a replacement Sorcerer rail.

Couple samples of the range of purple I make. Some rails require layering 3-4 different stains. The LOTR rails are 3 dyes and 2 are applied at once to get the dark undertone and then a last layer is applied with a lighter purple to give it a faint but brighter tone. Those are incredible looking... contemplating ordering something similar for my CPR Old Chicago PF... now to decide on color/shade combo.
Quoted from Dono:contemplating ordering something similar for my CPR Old Chicago PF... now to decide on color/shade combo.
Turquoise! Might be hard to match the playfield hue exactly, but would be sweet. Not to mention unique.
Still working on the dyed rails.
Shipping tubes came in and I’ll be wrapping and packing rails Monday next week. Keep an eye open for shipping info from me. I believe I have every ordered set in black or red made so if you don’t hear from me next week please reach out.
