To avoid contamination I have to split up finish sessions. Gorgar and Joker poker getting finished with a natural stain and Stars in white. Great weather this upcoming week so these should all be done midweek. At least that’s the plan.

Getting really close on this batch. Should have them all done today or tomorrow so will be ready to ship for next week. Pretty sure I have a set of Playboy rails coming in today and have several orders in my queue.

Silverball Mania rails should be shipping end of this week.

I know my business model is confusing AF for anyone that is just checking out this thread. By “closing” I have some control over expectations as to what I can do and the time frame I can do in.

If I get messaged and I can make a set because I have the stock and the time I generally will. I really enjoy making the rails and I have a decent process at this point. Covid had made obtaining material a pain in the ass. I know I can mill stock down and all that, but the mill I got my stock from allowed me to keep my pricing relatively low and saved me a ton of time. I have 2 kids and I pretty much rotate around their schedule.

Ordering process works like this...

1.You message me asking for rails or I see you mention that you may want some.
(If I’ve made rails for you before and I see you mention the need for rails I will generally reach out if I can make them.)

2.I reply and let you know if I can make them and for you to respond with your shipping info. I do this even if you have ordered with me before as I like to have your address in the current message thread to avoid confusion and me hunting down your address.

3. I make the rails.

4. When rails are ready to ship I hit you up to make sure you still want them, if you do,
I figure out your total by calculating shipping cost and add that to the rails and let you know total with tracking.

5. At this point you can pay for the rails or wait for them to arrive and pay.

I figure if I don’t have your money and I suddenly croak my wife won’t have to worry about refunding people.

I’m just posting this as I’ve had several people reach out asking about wether I was closed or not so wanted to explain my rationale behind my seemingly bullshit closure statement. I do think it keeps me from getting overwhelmed so if I have to stay closed I’m probably getting in the right amount of orders.

I do take the summer off once it gets humid, but I sometimes squeak in a set or 2.

All rails of this last batch are done. This one Stars rail has been a pain in the ass. Developed bubbles in the finish so I had to remake it. Should have left it alone.

I do need to check my stock though before taking on more orders. Let me see why my queue looks like.

Last batch has shipped. I’ve contacted everyone that had an order shipping over the last two day, thanks for the quick replies.

I know this post will get lost in the shuffle so I’m going to try to update the first post in the thread to cover this, but...

For complete transparency I want to share a change I am making for shipping calculations. USPS is going through some issues, we all know this, and they are my preferred shipper. I will use FedEx, they suck, or UPS, they also suck, or DHL for international(by request.)

Shipping cost will now include insurance for the total amount to replace the rails. That will add around $2 to the shipping cost.
This increase is reflected in this last batch.

Holes transferred and Playboy rails have had the tapered slots routed. Hope to have the these all sanded by Friday and then just need the weather to cooperate.

Please include game in the subject, it makes it a lot easier to search if I need to get back in touch. If you have ordered before please start a new email with your new order for the same reason.

Also, the rails in the “I need” are for games I’ve been asked about, but don’t have templates for. I have spoken to several people about sending in rails for these games and will update when/if they arrive.

Have a question for you 2 regarding the Playboy rails. I can do a dye job and try to match the existing rails I have or do a pink lacquer that is closer to a hot pink and wondered what your thoughts were. I need to order the lacquer so before doing so wanted to check you with you.
