Had a broken tooth on a Bally Bonus Unit ratchet. Did a repair using JB Weld and it working fine. I've included pictures. First pic shows the missing tooth. I cleaned the area using alcohol then built a dam using pieces of popsicle sticks and tape. I made sure the epoxy could extend along both sides of the wheel (ratchet) and join through one of the holes in the wheel for added strength. After the dam was complete I mixed the JB Weld and poured it into the dam and left to harden. After it had set up, I removed the dam and restored the missing tooth using a dremel tool. I left excess material on both sides for strength. Installed and didn't use for 24 hours. Have been playing the game and the bonus is now working correctly again.

    Nice work!
As time goes by, we will all be doing more of this.
Please report back on how it holds up and if you have any pointers for others.

Wow, that is an excellent repair job, to a plastic part, no less!
My guess is that other teeth on that plastic ratchet will break off before the repaired one ever moves.
Hard to put a price tag on a repair like that...

I would think that someone with a 3D Printer could make a new one, but just guessing as I really don't know the full capabilities of those things.

Reviving this old thread, because I have the same problem. I wonder though, about longevity. @jethrop, did it last? Did you leave it wider than the rest of the gear? I'm going to try it today.

I sold the game. Never had a problem after the repair. Yes, I left it wider.

Thanks for the update @jethrop. Here's my progress so far. Yes, I'm slow. I still need to trim it up some more, but the repair is holding tight.
