I got into the NYC Marathon for 2020.
Any other pinsiders running it too?
Quoted from GorillaBiscuits:Third year in a row losing the lottery. Will keep trying though
I got in through a charity.
My wife ran last year with a charity. We're from out of town & the charity really made the experience easier for her. I think she would actually prefer to run the big ones with a charity.
Congrats on getting in. I ran 2002 (post 9/11) I think they started the lottery a year later. Great race! The Philly and Marine Corp marathons are great too!
Quoted from phil-lee:Could any of you recommend a shoe? Maybe the Best to Acceptable? I appreciate it!
I like ASICS Gel-Kayano or GT2100. Get last year's model on the cheap.
I like the Nike Pegasus shoes. This was one of the most fun marathons I have done. So many people the entire way. The start is great. The end is great. The whole thing is great.

Go to a running store so they can properly fit you. One show could be great for me, but not work for you.
Buy online especially if need an wide (EE) shoe. Last year's shoes can be had this way I've found that in store is a crap shoot for that.
Quoted from Trekkie1978:NYC Marathon canceled. Ugh.
I hope the Wine & Dine races in Disney are still held.
Dammit!!!!!
I did all of that training for naught!
Fuck it. May as well have a beer.
