The Northwest Pinball & Arcade Show has a reputation for having one of the best speaker and seminar lineups in the country and this year will be no exception! Below is the list of industry speakers that will be talking over the weekend of June 5th-7th in Seattle! We will also have quite a few tech and how to seminars related to collecting, restoration and repair of pinball and arcade games. Anyway, this is this year's line up:
The Making of The Hobbit Pinball
This seminar will feature Jersey Jack, sound designer David Thiel and technical expert Butch Peel discussing the design process and refinements made to the final production model of this epic new pinball adventure based on The Hobbit movies and book.
Greg Freres
Greg is a pinball artist and graphic designer with over 30 years of experience in the industry. His work can be found on games like Medieval Madness, Elvira, Mustang, Wizard of Oz, Dr. Dude, Star Trek: The Next Generation, Revenge from Mars, Scared Stiff and the arcade games Smash TV and Arch Rivals. Greg is currently a full time artist at Stern Pinball.
Dennis Nordman
Dennis is a pinball designer with 20 years of experience in the field. His design work can be found on games like Pirates of the Caribbean, Wheel of Fortune, White Water, Elvira and the Party Monsters, Dr. Dude, Scared Stiff and Demolition Man. His current work includes Lexy Lightspeed for Multimorphic . At the 2009 Seattle show Nordman and Freres came up with the idea for the Whoa Nellie! pinball machine, which they later produced in a limited run through their own company WhizBang Pinball. Stern recently announced they will do a full run of Whoa Nellie! Nordman and Freres will talk about the project and bring one to the show for you to play.
Paul Faris
Paul designed this year’s show poster! Faris is an illustrator and art director with 20 years of experience working on arcade and pinball games. Faris’s work can be found on Evel Knievel, Xenon, Centaur, Back to the Future, Hook, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Checkpoint, Lost World, Eight Ball, Paragon, Andromeda, Space Invaders, Phantom of the Opera and Frankenstein--a few of which are featured on the poster
James Loflin
James was founder of Pinball Inc. and is currently working on manufacturing Python Anghelo’s Pinball Circus game. He will be joining the seminar lineup for the 2015 Northwest Pinball & Arcade Show to talk about his friendship with Python and his commitment to finishing Python’s original vision of this very unique machine!
