Looking to install nvram on a stern playboy.Tried calling pinitech,Apparently out of business or bought out or something.Nice of them to sell me this with no instructions and then pull the plug so I can't even get the damn thing installed without just f&*%ing guessing.Nice.

All the info here. Very easy on that game. Make sure chip is in the right direction by the dot on it and the notch on the socket.
Dont go by the direction of the words.

Are you sure you went to the right website? Pinitech doesn't list a phone number.

acebathound is a regular participant on the forums and is very responsive to inquiries.

Stern playboy uses the 6264 NVRAM module. You can find instructions here: https://www.pinitech.com/products/6264_nvram.php

Make sure you have your facts straight before you start having your little temper tantrum and start bashing people on here. acebathound is good people; he is not out of business, plus you can google the instructions

Thanks everyone! I just saw this but appreciate everyone helping provide some info & the positive comments.

Yep, not out-of-business I'm not sure what phone number would have been called as I don't list one on the website. There are a few business names that are similar to mine, so if it was Googled and spelled differently that could have turned a number up.

I try to provide as much info as possible on my website & along with products being sold. Kind of rare for me to miss including instructions for something, especially the NVRAM, but it can happen occasionally. For most of the NVRAM modules, the product pages contain all the info.. and the small sheet I include with the NVRAM is just to drive home the point of getting the "orientation" correct during installation, and then resetting high scores / doing a factory reset. There's more detail on the specific boards, jumper settings & board diagrams highlighting the location of the RAM on the boards on the website. I've always been inclined to put as much info out there as possible so people know what they're buying.. anything that requires board modification, I'd rather people not buy it if they aren't comfortable with desoldering/soldering than to buy it and not know what they were getting into.

It's all good! Mistakes and misunderstandings happen. OP, let me know if you need any other questions answered.

Curses, I need to go home and confirm whether or not my 6116 was ever swapped with a 6264 before I can order...and I only knew to do that because of the excellent instructions on your website!

I know I had installed over 200 Pinitech NVRAM for myself, friends and newbie collectors with NO issues. I am on an all out war to protect many games as possible from battery damage.

brian541, man...you must have been having a bad day. Wayne sends the instructions in the box. And, Stern Playboy is a WhiteStar game and could not be easier to install NVRAM onto.

Just take it easy. “It’s only pinball” - Rudy
