Hi All,

Does anyone know which chip I swap out to install the 6116 NVRAM on a System 9 board? I think it's the chip in location U18 but I'm not sure.

Thanks!

You want a 6116 NVRAM to go into U18.

The manual says the original chip imprint is 5516, but it could be 2016, 6116, 5116 or something else. Different manufacturers changed around the part number.

I just wanted to update, I installed the NVRAM in the U18 socket and it works. Space Shuttle is battery free

Just a side note, getting the original RAM out was tricky and I probably could not have done it with out the Hakko 808 desoldering gun -- one of the most useful tools out there.

Thank for the help guys.
