Quoted from cfh:

I bought some of the 1 cent (!) nvrams from china. it says they shipped ($7 worth of shipping.) I figure for the grand total invested it's worth a chuckle. i seriously doubt i'll get the right part, if i get anything! my hopes are very low... but for $7 and some change, it's a good conversation topic.

You will get a paper envelope with bird flu inside....

Quoted from lyonsden:

Borderline not funny. China makes a lot of great, useful products. Bird flu has as much of a chance of jumping species in China as it does in other parts of the world with massive bird rearing in close contact with human (e.g., US).

It's called sarcasm.......

Seem like 2716's were always a PITA to burn. Half was the burner and the other half was a range of chips with variables.
Not sure if there are fakes or remakes but variable markings from the same company....glad I no longer need 2716's.

(My CQ burner has never missed a beat)

Quoted from cfh:

Vid you're wrong. Maybe with mil spec but that isn't what people get today. Machine pin sockets don't pass the finger lift test - I can lift chips out with my pinky!

I have purchased different machined sockets from GPE for years and never had a chip come close to easy removal.
(All different DIP packages)

Maybe all machined sockets are not created equal or Ed at GPE buys the "good stuff" ?
