Hopefully someone with a lot more computer tech knowledge can help me sort this out.
I have an original NUCORE setup, I bought the whole shebang back in the day, case, amp, etc. I'm trying to upgrade my computer hardware to something a little more powerful because at the time, the system I built just barely made the specs. I followed the instructions for installing Ubuntu 18.40 and the Nucore update/install packages from the bigguys forum and it boots and runs just fine, but the graphics are a little wonky. See the attached pictures.
I'm using a CRT monitor and an Arcade VGA card, which worked just fine with my original setup and displays perfectly right up until the game itself loads. Boot screens and everything display perfectly up to that point. I even tried an install of Pinbox to make sure it wasn't an issue with my particular hardware config, and it displays just fine, so the hardware is not the issue. I suspect the issue is likely a driver problem, or something to do with launching Nucore inside the graphical desktop, but I don't have enough experience with Linux to take that any further.
I'd really prefer to stick with a Nucore setup, it's what I bought and paid for, so hopefully you guys can help me out!
