Should novus 2 be used on new playfields has well before waxing?

It could be used, but shouldn't have to be. I'd just do a quick wipe with a microfiber cloth then wax.

Novus 2 is an abrasive polish.

Don't sand down your new playfield.

Use a good, hard paste wax like Blitz (don't use "cleaner wax" (again abrasive) or wax that "wipes right off!"( just crappy silicone)).

I don't recommend using novus at all, ever. Simple green to clean, glass cleaner after to polish, nice non abrasive paste wax like vid1900 said.

Really? Not sure I ever heard of this 3 step method but I won't doubt that it works. Novus 2 is what I'd use for a dirty or semi dirty PF that might have ball swirls or ball trails that need cleaned. Otherwise I'll use Novus 1 as a general cleaner, then follow that up with wax if need be. Although I feel like I've read that wax shouldn't even be used on newer PF's & that it can even make a newer game too fast to where the ball can start breaking stuff. I'm not expert & please correct me if I'm wrong.

Is this ok for any dmd era playfield? Cleared or not? Also what glass cleaner before wax? Ammonia free windex? Thanks. Ant

http://www.amazon.com/Sprayway-Glass-Cleaner-6-Cans/dp/B000AP585M/ref=sr_1_6 this is a great glass cleaner. think markmon uses same stuff.

Novus 2 is just too much of an abrasive. Buy concentrated simple green, dilute down and if too dirty don't dilute as much

I use Novus 2 on all my games which include 1960 EMs all the way to new Sterns. Never had an issue on any playfield. I guess if you got too aggressive with it you may have an issue on older non-clearcoated games. I apply in small circular motions, working in a particular area for 15-20 seconds, wait for it to haze over and then buff to a shine. I guess use whatever works for you, but I use Novus 2 and have had no issues.
