OK, either I'm an idiot or blind. Is there any way to mark a thread so that if there are any update or changes, it send me an e-mail or some other notification?

    Thanks!

Well there is RSS, not that I know much about it but from From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

“Subscribing to a website RSS removes the need for the user to manually check the website for new content. Instead, their browser constantly monitors the site and informs the user of any updates. The browser can also be commanded to automatically download the new data for the user.”
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RSS

This option is to the right of the thread title. If you like to try this option, watch this YouTube on how to use -

    Then there is:-

I may be telling how to “Suck Eggs” here but from your profile you can see this info.

Yeah RSS is easiest. There's a little RSS button at the top right of a thread you can use to get the URL. I use an iphone app called Newsify. Put the RSS URL you want to watch in there and it will notify when new stuff is posted.

E-mail notification have been in the .plans for a while, but I'm worried about e-mail volume and the consequences it may have on the server. I could use a third party like Mandrill to handle the e-mail, but that's expensive.

Hey, maybe I'll turn it into a paid feature, that way only 2% of actual users will need e-mail updates

I'd be happy to handle relayed traffic. You'd still have to generate it and send it over, but then my server can handle dealing with the various queuing delays to various ISPs. I can either accept from your static IP, or give you a VM to let you configure and use as you wish (except for wide-open-relaying).

So someone at some point in some post mentioned that your profile RSS (https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/rss/profile/neemox) page is supposed to populate with all posts to favorited topics. My page seems to be stuck with only the posts from the first favorited topic I ever had (even though it is not a favorite any longer)

I am trying to use the RSS feature to stay up to date with posts, but it doesn't seem to be updating. Is this the same for everyone or am I just broken?

    Thanks!!
