I think you can do this...the problems on the surface don't seem too bad. There are many documents on rebuilding your flipper and getting a rebuild kit from Pinball Life and replacing most of the parts is easy and doesn't require any special tool other than maybe a soldering iron. In fact nothing better to improve pinball play then rebuilt flippers. There is even an ongoing document on rebuilding flippers on pinside that has been running for a few months.
The other smells like a switch in the trough or the shooter lane like others have already stated. Start by checking the switches like others have said and post here and Pinsiders will guide you through the repair.
Plus, you will likely get a kind post at some time helping you from LTG...every pinball collector deserves one of those. I should save mine and make a poster of all the LTG advice over the years. Would make a great gameroom piece of art.
Fixing these things brings even more passion to the hobby for most and makes it even more of a hobby. I am also sure with all of the pinball collectors in San Diego if you get into a bind, they may come to your rescue.
