NOS Tales from the Crypt play field,Clear coated.
It was clear coated over the factory Mylar.

Has a spot by the right sling where the mylar is sticking through.
Also has a spot by the skill shot targets missing a bit of art.

You can see it in the pictures.

Yes, exactly. Why go through the trouble of removing playfield and clear coating without removing the mylar?!?

Not good having a bond breaker between the playfield and the clearcoat. I think this will need to be sanded down and redone unfortunately. Too bad i am looking for this pf.

#6 8 years ago

Wow, someone just utterly ruined that playfield.

#7 8 years ago

Out of curiosity, will the clearcoat eventually chip and crack away from the mylar? What are the chances that it will stay bonded to the mylar and you will have no isses?

Dan, I assume whoever sold this to you gave it cheap so they didn't have to get heckled by everyone hah.

man, what a bummer. I would be all over this otherwise.

I don't think it would change any,but I'm no expert.
It's way better than a trashed playfield.

What happens if the glue to the mylar lets go? That would be interesting to know.
