NOS Playfields for Sale

Champion Pub - STILL AVAILABLE

(Sold Pending Payment) - Who Dunnit
(Sold Pending Payment) - The Shadow - RARE PROTOTYPE
SOLD - Safe Cracker
SOLD - AFM (MIRCO - NOT NOS)

** FREE SHIPPING **
Local Pickup available in Long Island, NY

Each Price is OBO – Most of these playfields don’t trade often, so pricing is difficult

I apologize ahead of time for the massive quantity of pics, but I am retentive and I want to make sure the buyer is extremely happy with their purchase.

PLEASE SPEND THE TIME LOOKING OVER THE PICS SO YOU KNOW YOU WILL BE HAPPY WITH YOUR PURCHASE.

Sometimes due to lighting an area of the playfield may look off color or hazy. They are not, please feel free to ask if you have any concerns.

None of the playfields have any raised inserts. I did not clean or polish any of the playfields prior to pics which isn’t the smartest thing to do as a seller, I just don’t have the time.

Champion Pub ($850 OBO) - New NOS, great shape, line on top center of playfield which isn’t visible once the playfield is populated

Sold Pending Payment *The Shadow - RARE PROTOTYPE ($1,250 OBO) - New NOS, light scratching which can be felt by hand that probably needs wetsanding or heavier buffing, perfect candidate for clear coating, wood chip on the back of the playfield in the upper right corner (see pics - does not affect any cosmetics)

Sold Pending Payment *Who Dunnit ($1150 OBO) - New NOS, slight swirls that need to be polished out which can’t be felt by hand, nothing cutting into PF, very typical, new slot machine plastic. This playfield has factory mylar installed in many areas.

SOLD *Safe Cracker ($2,000 OBO) - New NOS, slight swirls that need to be polished out which can’t be felt by hand, nothing cutting into playfield, but overall very bright and beautiful. Extremely Rare

SOLD *Mirco AFM ($650 OBO) - New, None Dust Edition, Beautiful condition

*We can discuss payment, but I will not accept paypal. Several well respected Pinsider references will be provided once a deal has been agreed upon.

THANKS FOR LOOKING!

You're telling me. Three years ago I sold an NOS CV PF and an NOS Totan PF for what these days would be considered "Stern PF" prices.

You just reminded me, I need to order one of your boards. Just bought a BSM that is ghosting like crazy.

I felt the same way. That's why when I had the chance to buy it, I jumped at it. Embarrassed to say I paid more for it than I'm asking but given the price a Safe Cracker trades for I figured an NOS PF would be a great item to have on hand. Unfortunately in the process of cutting the collection down in half and having to make some difficult choices, my SC had to go...just wasn't getting enough play time.

Yes. Also a new head / token assembly.

If the OPs PF sells anywhere near ask, my buyer got an incredible deal.

That's what I was thinking when you put that up for sale. It was a fantastic deal!

The Shadow playfield must be an early proto. A few things I noticed briefly looking at the pics:

Missing text "To the Sanctum" in Sanctum lock area:

298204-i-144.jpg298204-i-144.jpg

The yellow insert labelled "Skill Shot" should be "Shadow Loop"

"COMPLETE SCARF TO LITE FINAL BATTLE" text is missing

Position of "O" mongol target/insert is different.

Two additional clear round inserts

298217-i.jpg298217-i.jpg

"Bally" text missing on roof of car.

Shooter lane is not routed for habitrails.

298221-i.jpg298221-i.jpg

Anyone installing this in a production game is going to have some issues installing it.

Very interesting analysis. I never noticed that before. How early in a run do you think it would have to of been for it to still be a proto? For example, I know the first 200 SS were considered "early run" (not saying proto) and have a few differences than the rest of production.

The gentleman who sold me this playfield, the safe cracker playfield I also have for sale, and several others I had such as TOTAN and CV, purchased NEW IN BOX every single Bally/Williams game from 1990 on. With each game he would also buy 1) a spare playfield, 2) spare set of plastics, and 3) any special plastics/figures specific to that particular game. Very eccentric guy, but a first class gentleman all the way. He was kind enough to sell me a few NOS playfields and NOS plastic sets (some that I still have) at a time when my collection was much larger and I had intentions of sending them all out to the usual suspects for a complete restore. He wasn't openly offering these in the market, more as a favor to me. I wonder whether because he is/was so respected by the folks at Bally/Williams he received first run of most things.

It would be interesting to see if Safe Cracker shares the same rare qualities. I could also post pics of the CV and TOTAN PFs.

Awesome eye. Thanks.

Quoted from woz:

The Shadow playfield must be an early proto.

Yup! I have an even earlier proto that looks very close or identical to this one.

Some other differences:

- Super Jackpot insert is red and not white
- Three red arrow inserts on right side are lined up and not staggered
- buildings in the background are different
- "final battle" insert at right scoop missing
- "battle the power" insert is missing
- color differences
- many GI bulbs are in different spots
- the 3" slots next to the white blank inserts are not in the production game. In fact, I have never seen this cut out on ANY WMS playfield (please correct me if I am wrong).

I think there are a few more minor differences. Between the slots, ramp and skill shot differences, I've always wondered what the original plans were. My guess is the launch ramp was a TOM style launcher, dropped the ball right on the upper flipper.

Thanks, I appreciate it.

A few inquiries and offers on the CP but nothing yet. If it doesn't sell here I'll let it spend some time on eBay.

Wish I was at Expo....
