Quoted from pinballsmith:

Thinking about putting my TZ up for sale. Put some work and new parts into it, so I'm hoping to at the very least break even at $5400.
-Cleaned and is mechanically sound (have new clock board on the way to fix clock issues that occasionally pop up)
-My version of the piano mod
-Gumball light kit and flashers
-New legs chromed by Mike Chestnut
-9.2 and 9.4H ROMs
-Common cabinet wear with fading on the left side (drilled for security lock, but done cleanly)
-Small playfield cracking where a few screws are placed, but not noticeable.
-Two wear spots where the rocket is

I think that's a steel. Yes, I own a TZ so I'm biased. However ... what you get for that much out a Stern and what a TZ offers is no contest.

Medusa ($1800/obo). NY Metro area. Very nice all around & shopped. Near perfect back glass, minimal wear in the bonus area (much less than I've seen on most Medusas), perfect/unhacked/no-acid boards, new correct lighted flipper bats with white Superbands, some planking in the upper playfield and wear in the skill shot area, otherwise very nice. Plays fast and fun.

Here's a few quick shots ... it's all I have for now.

BTW I'm only selling as I got one in near pristine shape last weekend. Paid considerably more. Though it is fun having two Medusas right now.

Just listed a Skateball for $1,000 and Future Spa for $1,100 in the market place. Deal if you take both. Located in the middle of Long Island NY.

So tempted, but alas I'm done.

Out. Of. Space.

C'mon Brian, I'm on CPRs list for the Skateball playfield...

Unless that includes a free addition to my home, I respectfully decline.

Quoted from Crispin:

I've seen Pinster's IJ up close and it's amazing! I remember commenting that the blues in the archways were so rich in color. I just compared them to mine and mine look lighter or faded. The light blue scroll work on the columns on mine almost matches the rest of the blues. Pinster's blues are deeper and vibrant. Actually all my colors are muted compared to his? Anyone know of an inferior run of playfields? I'm stamped Sep 10 1993 LAG

20140718_095146.jpg 529 KB

Wow, that is different. I wouldn't think it's fade though ... as it would likely show in the reds first.

#492 9 years ago

Alrighty ... I'm adding my Devil's Dare to the chopping block.

I LOVE this game, and as with the pins I love I seek out HUO/CQ versions of the same. Mine is quite nice, but I want even better - and I could use the space in the interim.

All ground mods done, LEDs under the inserts, Treasure Cove playfield cleaning, all parts tumbled and shiny, chromium steel pinball, new rubbers, etc. Great pin. $1300.

Quoted from Crispin:

I have a players Medusa on Long Island. Here's the ad in the market;
https://pinside.com/pinball/market/ad/15816

Being the past owner of said Medusa I'll have to chime in...

That Medusa is a beauty for it's age. Super clean boards and near perfect backglass. It plays fast and fun. I only replaced it as I had a very low-routed survivor come my way (of which I paid a mint for - and won't be selling any time soon). This Medusa is still far better than you'll find anywhere else. Worth noting are the LEDs behind Medusa's eyes, new translucent (and correct) flipper bats wrapped in lifetime white Superbands.

Did I mention CPR is coming out with a Medusa PF soon...

Ok, sales pitch over. For $1400 it's a steal. I paid quite a bit more for it ... Someone buy this before I get really pissed and buy it just to have a spare.

#943 9 years ago
Quoted from Crispin:

Hi Pinster thanks but have to make a disclaimer here, this is not the same Medusa! Pinster's game was very nice! The cab was nicer and it was 100% functional with a nicer playfield. It went to a very happy pinhead upstate. I posted in the ad there are 2 displays out and 2 translucent targets missing. Pics for this Medusa are here;

Looking for either a Flintstones or RFM in the CT area...PM if ya got one!

Would love to sell you mine Norm, but I'm not ready to let it go until I bowl a decent game.

Seriously tough to do. Great choice, an innovative Trudeau classic.

If anything changes I'll let you know.

#1148 9 years ago

WTB Safecracker. Need something small to sit in my home office.

#1156 9 years ago

(EDIT: Found a Black Rose locally guys. Thanks for all the PMs. Still more money in the pin budget, but holding off for now, for the usually space reasons...)

============

I have some money to burn this weekend ... anyone selling in the New York metro/Northern NJ area? Let's say within 50 miles ... don't have a lot of time to travel. My interest is wide open (no EMs, sorry). Budget is roughly ~$5k. Projects or plug 'n play.

Thanks,

Brian

Flintstones. Fully shopped, all metal bits tumbled and/or buff polished to a high shine, plug and play. New rubbers, Superbands, LEDs on all inserts, and a new DMD. No-hack, very clean boards. Cabinet has only minor imperfections. Previous owner claimed HUO. Can't prove this. It is very very nice, but not perfect.

Kid-friendly theme. No x-rated translites or overlays. Ground-level pickup from my heated game-room garage.

$3k

(edit: will consider a trade for a Fish Tales, BoP, or perhaps some other DMDs)

Quoted from TheFamilyArcade:

What are the rules like on Flintstones? Only played it on route and always liked it. Cool game.

The main multiball is easy to achieve, as it getting the jackpot. Super jackpot is a challenge to make the u-turn shot. Modes are fun. Bowling a good game is the toughest. Bowl-o-Rama is quite fun. Not a very deep pin but definitely worth having in a collection for a little while.

Need to make room for more pins, otherwise I'd keep it ... sure looks real nice next to its Trudeau counterpart. Note the DMD theme is the same (cars parked in front of a drive-in).

#1177 9 years ago
Quoted from TheFamilyArcade:

The only pins I'd consider trading/selling I'd want big $ for (very nice GNR and a HUO FT) but I do like the idea of a cherry Flintstones...and so close too! I just don't have the room to buy outright.

HUO Fish Tales. Nice. Would trade that plus cash in a heartbeat.

#1181 9 years ago
Quoted from wayout440:

From the pic it looks like someone glossed that over with something..that's a mighty bright reflection, or just could be the camera I suppose. How about some good pics of the playfield and the backbox?

A headless, legless fish tale. Anyone see irony or some poetic tragedy here?

Last time we chatted with him he was a bit lofty in his prices. Any idea where he is on these?

#1395 9 years ago
Quoted from funrudy:

Don't know his pricing. Last I checked with him he sold his AFM, STTNG and MM.

IIRC back in 2009 he wanted 10k for his MM when they were fetching 8k, and 2600 for a FT when they were 1500. And he was firm. Times change ... worth a call for anyone looking.

Flash Gordon $1000
Game plays but needs to be shopped. There are also a couple of problems like one spinner is broken and one of the displays flickers. It has a very nice original backglass. The playfield looks nice as it seems to have Mylar from when new. There are some minor wear spots near the pops/saucer and ball entrance. The cabinet was repainted on one side and the front but it's actually a pretty decent job. Looks like the MPU had some battery corrosion that was fixed.

Anyone need a pin picked up and delivered in the Northeast?
I'm a man with a van. I want to deliver machines to pinsiders that I can get to you within 1-2 days, with no stops other than my private residence. Your pin won't move from truck to truck or from warehouse to warehouse. I'm not looking to bundle, so you won't have to wait until someone else's pin is going your way. I might not be the cheapest but I'll probably be your fastest option for delivery. Your pin will also be personally handled by an experienced pinhead, me. PM me for a quote or if you have any questions.

Been kinda blah on pinball in general. I hope this passes!
Also, the Nanuet Arcade closed down, which is where I could get a fix of TWD and lots of old classics.

It'll pass Nelson; I went dark for the past 10 months only to come out of my funk with a vengeance. Back in 24/7 again.

BTW I used to hit the Aladdin's Castle arcade in the Nanuet mall when I was a kid with a paper route. We'd ride our BMX bikes all the way up from Montvale, NJ to pump quarters into the games there until all my earnings were spent. Good times.

#3730 8 years ago
Quoted from albummydavis:

That was my arcade hang-out as a punk teenager, also. I gotta admire your determination--that's a long bike ride from Montvale.

Yeah, it was a hike. We burned calories as much as quarters.

I remember seeing Centaur for the first time at that arcade. Stood there in that arcade in total awe. Never would have dreamed that's 30 years later I'd own one...

"26 new posts since last visit". Yeah! must be lots for sale.

Oh wait, it's a pissing match.

Let's get back to selling folks.

#4366 8 years ago
Quoted from Coyote:

What's the credit dot for?

Does anyone even stress about credit dots any more? There was a time it was a big deal, but I've seldom seen them translate into something dire. I know I know ... someone is going to have a horror story. Nonetheless, I digress from the topic ... sell on....

#4412 8 years ago

$2900 seemed like a fair price for the condition. What are you valuing the trade at today?

#4457 8 years ago

Chicks with marbles, yeah!

#4488 8 years ago

Nice! I'd buy it back if I didn't just pick up an IMVE. Glad you enjoyed it. I'd say GLWTS, but at that price it won't last.

Brian

Image uploads were disabled from this thread also, huh? What a steaming load of horseshit.
Just use Google Photos to post a link to photos now then.

It is unfortunate, and may be a sign of more restrictions to come in the name of Pinside profit. I certainly value and support Pinside, but when you can simply slide on over to KLOV, Craigslist, or RGP+free image links, and post for free it seems petty.

Pics are up. I work from home most days (including today) and should be around much of this coming weekend if it lasts that long...

https://www.icloud.com/sharedalbum/#B045CmvASaciCm

As always it's first-come-first serve. If I know you're rolling with cash in hand I'll hold it, otherwise - and with all due respect, I can't hold it. I'm only selling as it's the last in my collection (so I haven't grown so attached to it), and I want to reclaim some garage space.

Enjoy,

Brian

Last post on this, other than if I do a price cut or sell it. Just a bit more detail for those that have been kicking the tires today:

(my RGP, CL, and KLOV post, more or less verbatim):

100% working, plug & play. New ramps, clean hack-free boards, full playfield mylar, new playfield glass, LEDs throughout, PinScore display, PinGulp beverage caddy, unfaded cabinet. Some planking outside of mylar otherwise very nice all around. Easy, ground-level pickup in Northern New Jersey.

Curb alert, free Paragon Cabinet... pm if interested. I’d post a picture, but the overlords have snipped our nuts here on this thread.

#8926 6 years ago
Quoted from MinusWorlds:

Oh it’s okay. No big deal. I’ll be first one of these days.

I scored a STTNG for $600 a few years back. The listing was for $400, but I gave them a bit more. It was owned by a flood remediation company who took it from a flooded house. Pin was unharmed. They were thrilled with the $600, and so was I. The owner got their insurance payout ... everybody won.

My thoughts: if you list your address, and tell someone come get it, it had better be there when they show up.
At least he called, but still, , ,

The minute someone tells me they are rolling they have absolute dibs. I don’t care if someone else shows up with twice the asking price, I just wouldn’t do that.

#8954 6 years ago

Some FREE stuff for locals. Pickup only.

-Gorgar Backglass. Reds are touched up. Great wall art, or a decent backglass for someone in need.
-(2) Paragon Backglasses. One very rough, massive flaking, good for a BG Resto donor. The other is rough ... usable for someone with a really rough backglass, or fair condition wall art.
-Original Ice Cold Beer backglass. Some wear/fade at top and here and there ... but still pretty decent.

Prefer giving it to someone in need, so please don't be greedy. That aside, if there's no takers I'd say just take it all ... I need to clear out my house for an upcoming move, and the shit gotta go...

Just don't go on the wrong side of the tracks.

The northwest (West of Main Street, and the tracks) is actually very nice, and becoming quite trendy. The Southwest 'quadrant' of the town is the no-zone right now. Some day it'll turn around ... but it'll take time. There was a time you didn't want to go on the boardwalk at night, now it's a hot spot.

I'm moving and need to shed some stuff you might be able to use:

(UPDATE: EVERYTHING IS NOW SPOKEN FOR)

-FREE beer/beverage fridge. Works perfect. Comes with welded wall mount. I have my daughter's college fridge and don't need this one.

-Harbor Freight Lift Cart. Fully modded. My new house doesn't have a garage, and only a cellar for pinball stuff. $50.
